@@layne4376 You can’t go off what the media says. The type s won in a comparison on The Straight Pipes. The only car that out handles it in its class is the 340i. I don’t know why Acuras have to be the fastest cars ever, or else. It’s literally a fun daily driver and you guys compare it to track cars.
@@layne4376 While driving, Jacob says “why do I feel like this car would win on track?” Because of its dynamics. The media also loves Dodge Chargers for some reason.. who cares. The one guy on Throttle House has a huuuuge BMW bias. Just drive the cars for yourself. I test drove a Stinger GT, and an IS500 before I made my choice. It just feels good, I’m not trying to win Le Man.
@@scottsummers4154 LOL - WHAT?? The only car in the class that out handles the Type-S is the M340i? Not even maybe man... The Type-S *feels* like a great handler "on the street" when pushed above 8/10ths it's not good. Front and back end are disconnected, it understeers like a tank and the brakes disappear quick. Stop drinking the marketing coolaid.
@@scottsummers4154 Not really. I like the Type-S and can name several things about it that I really like but people need to be actually honest about what it is and what it isn't. Same with the G70 that I own... and every other car. Strengths and Weaknesses.
TLX type S is leagues above the Integra type S in every aspect from exterior (taillights: halo blade vs last gen genesis), interior (NSX inspired dash vs civic dash), engine (V6T vs I4T). I'd gladly fork out the difference for TLX every time
the TLX TYPE S is the best in it class.., might not be the fastest in its class but its fast enough to get your heart racing . also its heavier then the cars in its class but a lot wider, its the bigger car.
This is a lovely looking car & I'm sure it has great reliability. However, compared to its competition & especially at this price point, it's still behind. Decently far behind. It's heavy, it can not power oversteer, & it's down on power with its price point. It's definitely quick, but the M340i is significantly quicker. So is the RS3 for roughly $4k more. Golf R blows it out of the water for less, too. I really hope Acura/Honda gives this power train a much needed upgrade.
Yep, you are definitely paying the Honda tax, with the Acura tax tacked on, too. People that are buying this over those other cars you mentioned do so because they are brand purists or insist on reliability over all else.
@@justinly974 & what's odd is, those cars I mentioned already, they all have great reliability scores. Especially the new gen Golf R & B58 M340i. All well within the 80/100 ratings for reliability.
Yeah the M340i is significantly quicker and so is the RS3 but good luck with those heaps when you need to make repairs! Their reliability sucks so you can go ahead and pay more for crap reliability and shit resale value 🤣🤣🤣
@@justinly974 Great point Justin...when the POS BWM's actually start they are faster! Who needs reliability, I would rather pay more for a BMW with no resale value and crap reliability 🤣🤣🤣
Too bad the new Integra type S doesn’t have the rear biased AWD system. I can’t justify trading my 2018 Stage 2 Golf R on either the Integra or TLX for the price considering the Golf is getting 32 mpg and a 3.5 second 0-60. Those cars do look great though. Just going to wait for the facelift Golf R or Audi RS3 in 2025.
The Review is great... TLX is over over priced for what it is. TLX is far behind it's game, Acura needs to do better, like they did with CTR and Integra Type S. That TLX is missing the extra Turbo or bigger turbo. That thing probably would do 400 if not 450 with TWIN TURBO or better tunning, Anything less than 400 horse power it's not competing with competition, it just another car on the road with fancy badge.

I OWN Two Type S's MDX TYPE S and Integra TYPE S, my need required a Family SUV and for fun day's I drive an X4M Comp and for Winding Road I drive The Integra TYPE S. So I own two and TLX is just not What Acura marketed as, S4 or M340i's Competitor. Three of you complaining don't own s**t and complain like you twats drive Lambo's and Ferraris.
@@layne4376you’re judging it too harshly bro bimmers are the king of speed since beginning of time .. tlx type s ain’t supposed to be the fastest .. just the best all rounder which it is
@@Lawtypes you are right, the old Type S didn't beat out the competition. Unless it at street of Willow 2-3 secs ahead of Lexus IS350 and Infiniti G35 despite down on power and wrong wheel drive. Back in 2007 I dont have to worry any Kia/ Hyundai/ Corolla flashing their high beam telling me to move my over while WOT in my over price Type S. In 2023 I would got gapped by anything and everything in the segment. Sorry to bring the news to you.
