Straight from Dallas we have press day action with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's Eli Tomac and Haiden Deegan, Progressive/Ecstar Suzuki's Ken Roczen, and more.
Deegan is impressive. We all know he's fast and that he is going to be a force. To be so stable, honest, and the respect he shows to other riders to be honest is what surprised me most. This will help him build a solid enjoyable hopefully long career.
His dad has told him since he was like 6, "people are gonna naturally assume your a punk kid bc your my kid so if you want them to see you better than they saw me act better than I did" and he's worked hard and shaking that image but he's 17 I mean he can't be perfect so why does so many people think he should be (not necessarily you just in general lol)
I think he got some humble pie in futures and realized he can't be js7 out of the gate and thats the most dangerous thing is that he fully adapts and is sticking to the plan
The more you hear Haiden talk the more you like him! He’s just a kid doing his best! Why does society always put pressure on people! I don’t care how many followers he has he has every right to slowly work his way into SX and if he hit 1 podium for the season I would be stoked to see that but I would be more impressed with 5-10 every race cause that shows composure and skill and controlling your brain to say “No I’m in control here” How many kids do you see send it and spend their first few years injured! Answer - basically all of them! Tomac has made the ideal career cause of patience and look what he has achieved! 5-10 all year beats 2 wins and a snapped ACL for me!!!
Remember jetts first year he had a 9th, 5th, crash out with broke collar bone at round 3, now he's "Mr everything" 🤣...Hayden is just being smart and wanting to make it through the whole series which is exactly what he should do,
@@bobbygilbert6955 100%!!! Haiden is doing EXACTLY what he should be doing! The issue is telling kids who have won all their life to slow down and be happy with 10th! The ones who can overcome their emotions and be smooth and consistent and don’t worry about the results are the ones who turn into Jett! Hymas has looked faster than Haiden at times but is crashing or burning out! Look at Jordon Smith, it’s different as he is expected to be in the title chase but he is super fast, crash, super fast and ends up top 5! I wonder if he took off 1-2% where would he finish???
To be fair much of the pressure that was put on Haiden to win came from his followers, many of which probably had a limited understanding of just how fast and difficult this class actually is. On a realistic level he is doing very well, better than I expected and I love to see it! The influx of excitement he has brought is something the sport needs.
I agree, I think Brian is a total douche but I reserved myself to give Haiden a clean slate and not let his dad's past insecure behavior color how I view Haiden. So far, I've been really impressed with the kid and think he has a bright future.
I'm hoping the deegan family sets it up with whoever is in charge of the races to ALLOW haiden to do this if and when the time comes. The side by side shot of his dad's clip from when he did it next to a clip of haiden doing it would be great publicity for the whole sport. New articles could cover that awesome story incident and would pump up the entire community. Im hoping he does it but gets permission to do so so they don't penalized him in sake of us getting to see that amazing moment
Love watching Deegan ride and race! He literally just said he has more speed in the tank he can kick it up a notch if he wants at any time which means everyone is in trouble!🤙
Micheal Lindsey is such a quality interviewer, asks quality questions and gets quality answers. Honestly, would have been great to hear him interview each rider, Micheal is just in touch with each rider and what people actually would be interested to know.
Tomac is going to redeem himself from the last triple crown with an overall tomorrow then win Daytona then he will be tied with Stewart Tomac is going to make history it's going to be beyond epic beast mode rules !!!!!
@@MichaelAMyers1957 the last triple crown he came in 6th he has won 5 triple crowns your point well taken so I did edit it glad to see your a hard core Tomac fan !!
@@appalachianwilds1146 I just meant he has won more triple crowns than anyone else to the best of my knowledge so the last triple crown being a 6th was a little off the mark for him 🙂
If he's being honest, he's got to be one of the most mature rookies we've ever watched. Smart, reserved and not the "larger than life" personality one would expect from a social media sensation. Seems to have a solid persoective and a good head on his shoulders.
i like these questions particularly the ones for eli didn't feel like wasting of time generic questions there was actual thought put into them and they were more introspective and not pushy or invasive
Thanks! We try to get the viewers the most we can. These riders really are great to chat with when the right questions are thrown out. Hopefully we can keep finding decent ones to ask them.
DEEGAN is very humble and smart. He's listening to the amazing people he has coaching and mentoring him as he should. Alot of young guys who make it big in any aspect of life sometimes just jump in there and go all out not so much listening to their mentors. Brian raised a good young man and I absolutely see a championship in his near future. Gunna need to make a movie or documentary on this guy later in life.
I like haiden Deegan he is proving all the haters that he is capable not just spoiled brat that they think he is he puts in the work and it's proving it every race
I know Kenny is probably pickier than most but don’t forget when he made that set up change towards the end of 2015 SX on the Suzuki and started winning then turned 2016 into a 20 wins from 24 MX title! You can do it champ!!!!
This boy is really smart with his dad's guidance and the head he has and advice from his mom and sister this kid is going to do well I congratulate you
Thankz a billion for posting this!!! We, who can’t go or don’t pay, I KNOW WE APPRECIATE!!! these videos!!!! Thank y’all again and CHEERS!!! from north texass(I don’t like this place) -at least I can ride in my back yard/pastures!! AND WATCH YOUR VIDZ!!
@@Realhighlife right on I know he has more speed in the tank but his Dad wants him to take it easy this first year but I bet the last couple races he's going to kick it up a notch !
@@recordfishhunter9234 this week is more like 3 heats tho being short and he's already won a heat race so he can do the pace for that short time if he gets a good start or holeshot and Lawrence is in pack somewhere on start he could sneak an overall win but I'd think podium for sure
That's got to be Moiser Valley "like" dirt right there. Some really feaking good dirt/clay at the old Moiser track. One of the best motocross tracks located in Arlington Tx which got leveled for homes noise and other B.S.
Was never a Webb fan. But I really really hope the guy pulls this out. Would make eli stay another year. Jett would be on 450. Next season would be wild. Absolutely wild.
Well he's just out here to log laps because you know he's logging laps just to log laps, logging laps is the best when logging laps. He's logging laps guys, that's it, just logging laps. If he's out there he's logging laps just to log some laps. Can't beat logging laps just to log them. Just to make it clear guys, he's just logging laps, he is only out there to log laps.
@@davidg783 It's always suspension with ken. He left ktm for suzuki because he didn't like the suspension on the ktm. Then he complained about the suzuki suspension. Leaves suzuki to go to Honda. Then he complained about the Honda suspension. Now he's back on Suzuki and yet again, don't like the suspension. It's never ending with ken.
It's sad what Suzuki's factory program has turned into. Hopefully Kenny breathes some life back into it. Yellow was the first to be fuel injected back in like 2008. I scratch my head why they haven't gone electric on the starter.
Let’s be real, U obviously don’t remember how he road when he was unhappy with the Kawasaki his last year on it and that bike was way more capable then kens bike
I think it's great having Anstie here. It's a shame ama wouldn't let EB come race would have been another great addition to American moto. Actually that's what America is about. Shame ama to stupid figure that out.
Kenny just needs to ride the damn bike.. test during the week and get comfortable. We are past round 2 should have a setting dialed by now. Come on mechanics wth..
We like Ken, but already excuses before he starts so he probably going to fade like a cheap tan, deegan comes to race no excuses he’s fit and ready I recon he might podium this weekend
Only if Hunter has a serious crash. He's 3 seconds a lap faster that's not something you just magically overcome. His 2 4th place finishes have been gifts from better riders having issues. I doubt he'll see a main event podium by the end of the season. The kid is good but I'm so tired of hearing his fans talk about how he's the future GOAT already. He's not. He may win a couple 250 titles and will never beat Jett straight up in the big bike class for a title.
@@stephenz2822 I can’t believe you fan boys if anyone thinks differently straight up your just a hater ,mate the only way he is going to finish in front of Hunter is only if Hunter takes himself out or someone takes him out . In a race Haiden on average needs to make up 20-25 secs to be with the front runners ,will he get there of course the more he’s out there riding with these guys the better he will improve but that will take time . Let the guy ride as everyone has so much expectations on him to succeed in a small amount of time.
I like Deegan, unfortunately I see him in a Chad Reed position trying to catch Jett and Sexton when he moves up to the premiere class. The only difference is Deegan will have to fight for that 3rd spot unlike Reed.
I don't think we have seen what the kid can do yet, he's said multiple times that he's not going 100% yet and is still taking in as much as he can before he has the pressure on him from the team. Plus Jett will still be a wild card when he moves up to the 450, not that I see it being an issue for him but that transfer doesn't always go smoothly. It will be interesting to see him battling with the likes of sexton, Webb, and Anderson.
Roczen starting the weekend negetive talking about how his bike sucks 🤣 bet his team loves that. He knew what he was getting into when he signed the deal. Kind of a chump move imo
Please don't ghost ride a triple crown win, wait til a regular race. I can see it now, ghost ride race 1 today, break the bike and dnf the rest of the day lol
It’s difficult to hear mechanical excuses from some people. If you suck in the ruts just be honest and say so. There’s no shame. Don’t throw your employer under the hauler. It just makes for bad optics. Put up or...
I doubt yamaha would care. Especially after seeing the popularity and coverage Steward Baylor gained in the GNCC for flipping his bike at the finish line of every race he won on a Yamaha.
Kenny is trying so hard to not say "the bike isn't good enough". Look I LOVE Suzuki. But they haven't committed to the sport in years. Why should he? The idea was great. Let's bring Suzuki back to the front. But there was a reason it wasn't up there to begin with. The bike is holding him back.
Come on Kenny get you and your bikes shit together. Ride hard with what you bring Yea you need good suspension but stop changing and adapt to what you have. Stop saying your sucking in so many different ways.
Highly technical guys whose speed comes from talent and finesse are almost always extremely picky and never satisfied with their bikes. They always want more from the bike. There's a term for it.. kaizen.
Obviously deegan has tons of talent, and is definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with, but would u expect anything less!!! he has had the best bikes, tracks, and support since he was probably 3 years old 🤔🤔
Lots of kids have the best bikes and the best sponsors and tracks and can’t hang with him. Takes a lot more then just good equipment. This kid is the definition of work ethic and determination. His drive is what got him to the point he’s at
