2023 Audi A4 Avant Review: Long in the tooth? Or still competitive? 

My Audi A4 Avant S Line 3.0 TDI Quattro bought in 2018 as new is the best car I have ever driven. It's quiet, spacious, practical, classy, ridiculously specified, 705 watt Bang and Olofsen speakers, very smooth and quick (as fast as a Golf GTI 0-62 with far more 'class) so anyone that says an A4 is boring is talking rubbish. This 3 litre is the very best car Audi have produced for the average person that doesn't want to get killed by an S or RS Petrol.

I was converted to Audi three years ago. I've beeen delighted with my A3 and thinking of upping to the A4 Avant so your video was ideal for me. I'm not looking for "excitement", just a sleek, refined car with enough space for dog and grandchildren. This ticks all the right boxes for me, I think, subject to test driving one. Both the 35 TFSI and 40 TFSI models are on offer currently so I would like to see the essential differences in power. Thank you for your review and, yes, I think the look of the A4 Avant is great - I like a traditional style, rather than the SUV's which I consider ugly, but the A4 is traditional, yet modern.

It looks like a nice car. I think the spec is a bit simple; I’d probably prefer a Black Edition or the S-Line, and I’m more of a fan of the diesel engines, mostly because I like the torque and improved MPG. I have been reading that for 2024, Audi are replacing the A4 badge with an A5 one, so it’ll be interesting to see how much they change. From what I can see, it has the same engines, but the interior will have more of a touch screen look. I hope they still have buttons and knobs too, rather than just going full touchscreen like the new VW’s.

Why has the look of the grille and entire front end evolved backwards? I swear the newer ones didn't look so 2019-ish

Why review the base spec a4?

If you want excitement you would buy an RS4.

The rs4 avant if you have the balls to own it has it all, the b8 is the beast and last of its kind with no turbos to burn up the sump oil, the best part once the missus and the kids have been dropped off just hit the noise peddle and wait for the woodie 🤪
