dude, your X1 video is the one of the best X1 videos on RU-vid. I can say this with confidence because I have watched and saved close to 90 X1 videos that have been posted to RU-vid since November. I don't have have a BMW dealer near me, so I had to rely on these videos to make a decision. I have the X1 on order. Out of those 90 X1 videos, very few have real useful information. Most are just rehashing specs and other nonsense. For example, I have been trying real hard to find out the dimensions of the space under the trunk. I want to know what is the biggest spare tire that I could put in there.(not the donut little spare that BMW USA provides in our X1) NOBODY else has ever bothered to measure it and put the info in their videos. Yours was the FIRST and ONLY one. THANK YOU SO MUCH! 👍👍👍👍👍
Agreed. I ordered in October myself it will he here apparently by end of April. Alot of hate for all touchscreen controls but I'm super into modern sleek interiors. It's what sold me on this.
Great review. Part of the reason for the depth of the floor is to give the electric variant (iX1) closer to regular ICE cars’ floor height instead of an excessively high one.
I am so confused. How do you control the climate, sound system, etc. without looking at the screen? Is this completely voice automated...i.e. turn the temp on driver's side to 70? I am old school and refuse to take my eyes off the road when driving. The lack of a dial and buttons concerns me.
I love, love, love my BMWX1 with its twin turbo engine, fuel injected. It doesn’t have insane HP but it can fly and drives like it’s on a cloud. Mine is the 2015 model. I’m hoping in a few years to be able to buy a brand new one. Or close to it.
I really like the look of the X1 inside and out. No HVAC control knobs and buttons is bad but finding vehicles with buttons and knobs is getting harder sadly thanks Tesla. Flush door handles where the phone charger is etc.
Just like my 2021 BMW X1 . Hit Sport mode and then click the shifter to the left and Rev to 2500+ RPM and let go of brake with no lag and get mid 5s, but I'm in no rush to upgrade to the 2023 because I like my 3.5" dual cannons exhaust tips compared to no pipes on the 23 and also no Ambient light in the back seats as that is my favorite part on my 2021 and also they made the Ambient half the size as compared to the 21.Though I do like the light that holds your phone. My car looks great at night with the green or purple ambient lighting in the whole car not just the front. I really wish they kept that on the new model then it would be perfect and also keep the 8 speed I have as it is a awesome unit. Great vid and glad you figured out how to launch the best without launch control lol.
Always enjoy your reviews, especially because you not only do a great job, but you actually measure cargo space. 👍 I do have to add I kind of dig the rose colored shades. With the beard they give you a General Abbot look from the TV series Sweet tooth.
Very informative and fun video. Does it come with spare tire? Notice you were measuring the space below the cargo mat, but didn't see the spare tire. Is the Canadian version different from the U.S.? Secondly, do the rear seats slide forward and backward? The Hong Kong version does, but can't seem to find a video for the U.S. version. Thanks for taking the time.
Very fun vid, well done. I understand most folks lease BMWs, for the most part. But and IF this new x1 can be reliable and not give the usual long term hiccups, then, BMW has a: "winner, winner free chicken dinner." The other thing is always wait for the second to third year of a new production run, less issues, for the most part.
Good review ..But bang for the buck from all of BMW sport utilities the X3 M40 is the best one. I have driven everything because my wife works for BMW and I just really enjoy driving her dealer car and I drive nothing but sports cars and that car drives like one .
I was really looking forward to you review but unfortunately didn’t get much out of it in terms of it drives. I’ve seen other reviewers say that there’s a delay in the start/stop due to dct. Was that your experience too while accelerating from a dead stop?
Disable Start/Stop. Absolutely useless and more harm to the engine plus you actually burn more gas on start up. Nobody is saving the environment by this feature. Also a safety issue if you need to smash the gas to avoid someone rear ending you at a stop light.
I just got my new X1 last weekend and can say there def is a delay due to the start/stop. I deactivate it before every drive and which eliminates the sluggish delay. Super fun to drive!
Not a fan of the center console design and execution. It looks cheap and a little plastic-y. That and the rear design is not a home-run IMO. Everything else I like.
wow... 0-60mph in 5.5? That's 0.1 second faster than the 5.6-second results that MotorTrend and Car and Driver got in their reviews. Although... it will probably be a little faster in X1 with M Sport package because that one has launch control. :) Perhaps 5.0-second flat? haha... :)
Are the seats better than the previous version? That was the huge thing I hated about it. One sit and I walked right out. I don't care if it's the "entry level" car for bmw, it still needs to feel like a BMW! If these are better in feel and comfort, then I'll wait until one comes with at least 300hp.
Most reviewers have no studio, so they are heavy on drives but for us the visuals are important so focus more on that, but still give a general indication of what the drive is like.
Excellent Rav4 with BMW batch, series 1 isn’t a real Bmrs. Why pay more? For a batch? No way I still preferred a Crv o Rav4 even Cx5 and gorgeous difference in resale profit than a classy and fake german Bmrs. X4,X6 or x5 are real BMw.
