Audi's Nightmare! New BMW X1 Smaller On The Outside, Bigger On The Inside. Ready to take on the Q3. 

I am impressed with this new X1 - space and comfort.

I personally think BMW knocked it out of the park with the new X1. Nice design, good interior and a spare tire to boot, you don't find those anymore. Still few complaints, no physical buttons, strange open center console, the lack of customization on digital cluster, I want my round dials back!

The design is pretty great considering it's from terrible BMW designs these days..

I live in the US (Hawaii) and ordered it on 8/30. It was finally being asembled in mid October and arrived at the port on 11/7 where it still remains for it to be shipped. The price for the base increased $500 within the last few weeks from $38,600. I hope to get the black 19 inch rims that are exactly as shown in your video, as I have seen previous YT videos showing more of the stainless steel look with black rims . Excited for the wait for my Cape York / M Sport package with mocha interior as to when it will finally reach me ! Update (1 day later): well, I guess the US is not providing this gloss black wheel rims since the US website had nothing described as a 'winter package' (but describes it as 'bi-color', Style 871M) --- oh, how I wish those were the exact rims I will be getting but think it will be a mix of anodized aluminum with some black trim.

Great video, when I was in the 2023 X1 I found the front seats quite narrow strangely. First time having this experience, especially when I had a 1 series when I was at Uni.

I have a 2018 X1 I have loved so much. I’m a short gal so the small size was perfect for me. Now it’s my daughter’s car. I just got the 2023 X1 and I think I’m going to love it even more.

Really good review , but the switched on hazard light is a bit distracting to be honest

i love the way you really went into the details and some of the finer nuances, i have the 2nd gen x1 and have banged my head badly on the tailgate while loading luggage

None of the reviews I've seen for the new X1 mention that the base engine has almost 40 more pound feet of torque than the base engine in the X3 with only seven less horsepower. I'm guessing real world this does 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds. That's really good for this segment

The Q3 should look more like an SUV rather than a small hatchback crossover. X1 satisfies that itch so does the newer GLA

We have had it for 3 weeks and really enjoy it. Same setup, but not the black rims Love the increased power, especially the torque, transmission is smooth, sport mode is awesome. Like the new size, very spacious, looks great on the 20inch. The little downside is the idrive system, taking some getting used to. We think it was the right choice (despite the high BMW lease rates)

We currently have a 2019 BMW X4 and when it's time to change it we'll probably downsize to an X1/Audi Q3 sized vehicle as the kids will have left home by then. But I do think cars nowadays have too much digital/electronic stuff in them which will go wrong and need repairing long term.

Just bought one. Love it so much! A great vehicle with amazing features at a good price!

Very nicely equipped and design look clean. The overall exterior should stand the test of time. X1 is not the best in value but it beats the xc40.

@SamCarLegion: @5:00 it says BMW X3. Please correct that. By the way, I live in Germany and have seen dozens of vidoes of the 2023 BMW X1 already. Its my dream car and I am hopeful of buying it next year.

had a 2016 q3 quattro 184 diesel great but dsg was shit. got a 2021 x1 great car great engine bit of a sponge in corners , new x1 class above new q3 interior and exterior on another level

Thank you for the review. However I am 6,6 and I can tell you that no one can sit behind me even in this more spacious version.. In fact, it seems that you are driving a little bit too close for your height as well. You should lean backwards a little..:

Not sure if Canada gets the iX1 but I feel like it would have your power complaints sorted out. 313 horsepower and 364 pound-feet of torque. 0-100 in 5.6 seconds. not bad.

Would like to test drive one and see how the suspension is, I’ve spent a lot of time in the first generation, was very loud in the cabin and you felt every bump on the road This vehicle is perfect except for the hidden exhaust BMW please do not join the fake exhaust bandwagon

So I have a bmw I have had many needs for the built in gps. I’m very happy they include it.

Not a fan of the transverse engine (front wheel) based BMW in general, but I do like the looks of this, better looking than those new 7 series or XM, BMW finally got the design right this time.

What is the gal/hr display on the screen? Is there a way to see MPG instead?

The grill is an improvement from previous models and other BMW models. I prefer the older separated grills. When BMW connected them, it looked like a heavy woman's bustier. I love the consistency of the design language in this newest model.

How did you get those 19" black rims? I'm in Belgium and we don't have the option for those black rims :( I've ordered a 25E X1 in mineral white and I wish I could have gotten black rims...

front wheel bias sucks old x1 handles much better. Mazda 5 is cheaper is you like front wheel drive bias and quite fast.imho

I think there are better reviewers out there , you should focus on your delivery of the topic and carrying it onto the next thing , thats what mat wattson is known for . Though no hate just an advice

Hopefully the seats have been upgraded. I wasn't fond of the overall design of the previous model, and the seats were just horrible. They were very uncomfortable and had crappy materials. I get that it's the entry level vehicle, but it's still a bmw and should feel like one. I shouldn't have to get the bigger cars to get the nicer leathers.

A fresh breath of air for BMW. After an array of ugly products like the 7 Series, M3 and XM, they finally bring a handsome design. Powertrain is good, responsive chassis. It has some soul. Plus it enough room and amenities to compete. I see no reason to buy a Q3 or a MB equivalent. This and the XC40 would be my picks for the segment.

I don't know how you can call this small suv spacious. Your knees were touching the back front seats. That suv is for rich daddy girls. I'm not saying it's not a good looking suv, but For 60k you can get a top of the line full size 7 seater SUV from Japan\us\Korea.
