I was able to get to my local pro shop and try out multiple bows recently. Between the Mathews Phase 4, Hoyt vtm 34, and the Bowtech SS 34. The bowtech was my favorite.
Picked up my Bowtech SS34 from Spokane Valley Archery today. Absolutely love it. Huge shout out to Justin. He did an outstanding job building and tuning my rig. The SS34 is the third bow I’ve bought from the SVA crew. Great customer service keeps me coming back.
Great review. I picked one up today. The Tech and I got on the topic of your channel and how much we enjoy your no-nonsense reviews. They were out of stock on some things I wanted, so I'll be shopping your online store.
Just picked up my SS34, here in SW scony! My local shop was running a sale. Got this new at 30% off! Love the review. Its what put this on my radar when i began my search. Cant wait to send some down range.
Great looking bow. Just went to a local dealer and shot it on Comfort and Performance. Phenomenal. Thank you for your unbiased and knowledgeable reviews. I have learned a lot since I have been following you.
I am about to get a new bow and looking at videos. I was hoping to hear the reflex length also. "What makes a bow accurate". Guess we will see that in a different review. Sure MFJJ is a very busy guy.
Ive got the original Solution SS. Shoots fantastic. Im a whitetail hunter shooting out of tree stands out to 40 yards. The obvious difference is the 30-34” ATA change. Speeds are the same. Is this an “upgrade” to what I’m currently shooting?
I don’t think they are changing the published numbers I think there bows are just faster. Last year the numbers were similar for IBO but the speed they’re getting this year are all faster then last years bows except the sr350.
@ Podium Archer As a left-handed archer I ordered this bow precisely because it is fully adjustable by the archer and because there is no left-handed bow in the shops anywhere! During the corona period I bought a second-hand Hoyt bow and fitted it with a new tendon and adjusted it myself, this was a learning experience through the videos of Renowned coach John Dudley! I will be very happy that you make these videos for this bow! I deliberately did not choose Hoyt or Mathews because they almost force me to buy new rizers, sights that are only suitable for their new bows! Also, because of this strategy, I think that the aftermarket will go bankrupt and stop innovating!
Another great review video. You're making it much easier to narrow down the next bow purchase. The carbon knight I have is starting to show its age with all these new bows on the market. Keep up the great work. Will definitely be ordering from your website.
What a great lineup from bowtech! I feel like a kid in a candy store and I can't decide which bow I want more. If I could Frankenstein these bows I'd make a SS34 carbon riser with the cable timing setup from the Reckoning Gen2. The perfect early and late season hunting bow in my opinion.
I know you already do a lot with these reviews and I thank you for that, but I think it would be fun to see the speed difference in comfort vs performance options with a heavier arrow. Like 450-500 grains.
Love this bow haven’t had a bow tech in a while I own a Mathew’s halon now and would love to have this ss 34 it looks good and more my style being longer
I have a question about this bow. I shot one the other day and I love it. I want to buy it. But it looks like it’s followed suit with other bow techs in the past and has plastic or “composite” limb pockets. Is this true? If so should this deter one from making the purchase? This is never talked about in review videos.
I was trying to get a bow last year and I think I might be glad I had to wait. This 34 looks awesome. Have to wait for the Mathews to announce so I can decide and save!
Seems like an excellent hunting/3D bow. Would you say it can keep up on indoor spots (more casual leagues), or would the Reckoning G2 36 be a better choice for a hybrid bow?
I went to my local pro shop and shot this alongside the outgoing CP28; I was hoping to try a Solution SS, but it seems I missed the boat on those. As someone with a short draw, I don't feel like I really benefit from a 34" ATA but I love how smoothly and easily this thing draws.
Bowtech has stolen my business since the revolt x! Keep up the good work! That being said I didn't care for the carbon one when I shot it lol. Thanks mfjj for all the hard work
This one has me interest…speed sells or rather “advertised speed sells” but most fall flat below ibo anyway. I’ll buy any bow that meets or exceeds ibo before an inflated one. This might be the first bowtech I would regularly shoot on performance.
My cousin who has a PRIME Cenergy right now is thinking of a Mathew’s (because that’s his name and they’re great bows) the Inline 31 from Prime, but also mentioned this bow since Bowtech can do 80 lb limbs and they’re pretty smooth. 🏹
I guess to me, a 34 inch axle to axle isn't that long unless you compare them to the compact bows made today. LOL! I am curious though if the Carbon 1 is more dead in hand while shooting?
In performance this is a few fps faster than the v3x 33. Specs are a more forgiving bow as well, comparing side by side. Mathews has the best accessories hands down, but this bow rivals the v3x 33 IMO. Bow tech stepped up this year. I’m really impressed. I’d like to shoot this in performance to compare. Not ever getting rid of my v3x33 but this bow has me curious.
MFJJ another great, concise review. But, in your recent reviews I keep coming up with a single question. As tall as your ‘hawk is…has it ever got caught in the HVAC vent above your head?
How would you compare the drawto the revolt xl? I'm a 31" draw, wondering if the "hump" would be less pronounce in the xl not being so close to maxed out. Speed similar? (I know the xl was overestimated)
I will Gladly trade you my 2009 Bowtech Captain for that one!! Loving all the new 34" ATA bows coming out! Still shooting my 2017 Elite Tempo 34...honestly I can't shoot better than it does so I can't really justify getting something different..yet!:)
New subscriber. I like the way you present objective and subjective information equally. It's not just all your opinion or brand hating. I'm considering upgrading from a 2011 hoyt rampage xt. This ss34 really intrigues me. I'm guessing I'll pick up about 10-12fps, and I have to think this bow will be quieter. Do you have any thoughts on that upgrade for an all purpose hunting bow?
Looks like a great bow. Can we just skip ahead to next year and get the SR34? I'd love to see that riser with about 10 fps faster. I love my SR6 but wish it was a little longer ATA.
