Over the past 30 months I have been fortunate to own and shoot the following bows: V3 31 V3 27 V3X 29 V3X 33 Phase 4 33 Image Ventum 33 Ventum 33 Pro VTM 34 RX-7 Ultra Prime Black 3 Prime Black 5 Prime Inline 3 Prime Inline 1 Prime REVEX 4 Bowtech Solution SS Bowtech SS34 I know, that is a lot of bows, but legit I have owned all of those and shot them and sold most of them in Ebay or traded them at my local shop. The Bowtech SS34 is EASILY the best bow of this group and 2nd place is a distant second and that would be the V3X 33. I know, it is totally personal and different for all. I just wanted to share that as someone who has had a chance to really shoot a lot of bows - the SS34 is just incredible. Pros - smoothest draw with no competition, zero shock or vibe, Deadlock system is light years ahead of all other cam lean systems, solid velocity, very forgiving, highly accurate if you do your part, excellent and highly repeatable grip. Cons - crappy factory strings (serving separation on cables in less than 50 shots), no decent 2-piece quiver options, no integrated sight option. Thanks!
Hey Josh thanks for sharing something on a real personal level . My heart goes out to u sounds like u went through a real ruff patch funny how you really find out who your true friends are a lot of fair weather friends is what I call them . Love your guys message and love the vids keep them coming .
Awesome to see MFJJ and Tim keeping us posted with new uploads. Any chance we could get an explanation on peep height? Especially when using slider/moving sights. I know you can adjust your peep height to the average distance your shooting when shooting longer ranges but I think myself and other archers would like to watch an explanation/demo of how it works. Mahalos MFJJ and gang😬🤙🏽 Edit: I commented instantly after the first minute and was clocking out of work. As I’m watching this at home…MFJJ Godspeed Bruddah! We appreciate you sharing these personal things which is life and looking forward to see you moving forward with positive energy! Mahalos! 🤙🏽
WOW! idk who you are yet but I am planning on going up there and hoping to start a relationship with you! I have also been through similar things and the last two years have been similar to yours! You seem like an amazing man! Thank you for all your free advice and showing people how humans should act! Praying for you two and your families!
Glad to hear ya doing better after the dust settled, thats a helll of a stretch for anyone. Keep truckin brotha, hope theres much better times ahead after all those hardships
I value your knowledge and commitment to archery and the equipment we all use. Your understanding of how everything works together to cast a perfect arrow has changed my way of thinking. I was a serious bow hunter 25 years ago hunting elk in the rain forest of Washington's Hoe river near Forks. At that time I was shooting top of the line bows . Its been 20+ years since i have seriously and passionately shot 100 arrows a day. Watching your channel I appreciate your delivery and honesty about products and thank you for being a determining factor in helping me choose my next bow. Thumbs up to you and your channel!
Didn’t expect that intro for a bow build video.. Sorry to hear you’ve been through the ringer MFJJ, your videos and your attitude are an inspiration. Loving these build videos, happy you finally found the time.. Prayers for you and yours-and keep your children out of prison!
Awesome idea mfjj! Looking forward to the videos, bummer about the last few years but hopefully everything is going better for you man!! Hopefully 2023 is good to u
And nooo way Tim thats unreal lol woulda never guessed. Im golf and hockey obsessed along with archery and bow hunting. Been golfing and playing hockey since i was a little one, thats so crazy and awesome to hear 💪🏼
Hey MFJJ . All content is fantastic. I really love that you and Tim are still doing things together. I have subscribed to both of your channels. Keep up the great content. I love how you keep things pretty simple . I wish I had this content when I started 12 years ago on my own . I made every single mistake possible and the cost associated with those mistakes. People don't understand how much information you guys are providing that they wouldn't even get in some bow shops. Keep it up !!!!
MFJJ, you da man! The episode where you talked about your dad passing and this one with the D and family gave me much respect for you: had to be difficult and I trust you highly because of your ethics and honesty. Of course, you are the bow master! Really enjoy your logical explanations regarding archery and components. I have committed to upping my skills to improved arrow flight which ultimately shows with results and satisfaction. Keep on keeping on, brother!
Man, appreciate hearing what others are going through and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. As always, thanks for content that worth watching! Totally sarcastic, but worth noting, "Those who can't fish, golf."
Also, adjusting cam lean on a draw board at full draw... Now that is insanely cool! Then 3rd axis adjustment and adding in a twist directly after. I have never seen it done in that progression, but it makes so much sense!
Great video and great chemistry between the two of you. Looking forward to the other builds and the comparisons. As always the hair do is rocking, but that comes from someone with a hair don't.
Man I was looking to buy that same bow used from a guy. Didn't get the money fast enough and it was sold.🤦♂️looking forward to see you shoot it! Really cool to get to now your more in that video. My sympathy to you Josh, also lost my dad a couple of months ago. A golf instructor!😮 That is so cool man! 👍Good stuff guy's, like the chemistry between you. 👌👊
The beginning of this video should have been your first video podcast letting everyone get to know more about you and Tim. But that said, my vote for prime on the fourth. They also have an epsilon mount on their new bow
Darton veracity 35 is a build I would like to see! Ill echo what i have seen a few times here. Thanks for sharing your human side.. easy for people to forget that we only see a few minutes of people on the internet, and they have a whole life!
Hi Josh. Thanks for a great setup talk through. I may have missed it, but could you do a specific episode on how you adjust the wheel lean on the Bowtech... using you best crayons. Tried it once... Greetings and thanks from South Africa
I'm really appreciating your level of knowledge in these videos. Since I'm new here, have you done many broadhead reviews/comparisons? I would be interested in your thoughts on grizzly stik. I shoot the 125 grain maasai, single bevel (left). I like the robust heads that can be reused, resharpened,
Good video. I would love someone to do a video on paper tuning bare bow VS a bow with a front bar and side bar to see the difference there is in hand torque and maybe even a fully rigged out freestyle setup with a long front bar and loaded up side bar. Also if there is a difference do you tune for the bars or stock.
Wish you would do a Mach 34 but I know you’ll pick the aluminum version to keep it all the same. Thanks for doing this, a lot of hard work on your end.
yo mfjj really sorry to hear about the D word and trouble you went through last year. come back strong my man youre doing great, thanks for the content
Man I went through the same I started shooting in 2009 had to stop when my ex wife made me sell my bow, lost my mother, my grandmother and grandfather, found out 4 years ago that she did some things that couldn’t be fixed, got a divorce, a year later met an awesome woman, we got married last year, we share the same interests and I started back this year shooting again, just keep pushing even though it may seem hazy it’ll get better ✌️
PSE over the Prime. I've owned Prime and while this year they made a huge improvement I still bought a PSE. The Mach 34 is definitely a beast, while the uniqueness of the Revex is best in a target bow sized platform
I traded my omnia for an ss34. For me it's a long range hunting bow. The first thing bad I noticed is that the serving on the cables is coming undone. But it's very accurate so I think a new set of strings is in the works
The serving wear issue is a re-occurring issue for most people with this bow and the cp30. Just a heads up. Probably a great bow but kind of a bummer with that being the case.
