Later on, again, TTJ killed himself, not LSS 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

There were a few action movements which had awful timing speed and this heart/blood CGI that had me go 😲🙄😆. They were enough to throw me out of the moment. But! I was still mesmerized by Tan Jian Ce's absolutely beautiful looks in this drama enough to think about making a phone wallpaper.... but I didn't. I'm way past the age of middle-school fan-girling so I'll just continue to watch him in his various dramas (and conclude that his looks in LYF won't be duplicated....sadly. 😥)

Starry Love was my favorite as well 😆❤ I loved the story and the soundtrack! Best drama this year!

Same here... The Starry Love wins this year, nothing else could quite compare, and it aired back in February.

Yeah it's just a pity i agree with avenueX the camera work is crappy however the other aspect of this drama is great

@angelxxsin Right! Starry Love came out without any fanfare. ✨️ It was a drama I watched while waiting for other more high-profiled, heavily-promoted ones to air. I was so blown away by Starry Love that I was so excited to see the years lineup. DISAPPOINTING to say the least

There is, just those idol drama were much more popular nowadays because of fans of the actors were very loud about it. For 2023 we got Under the Microscope and Ripe Town, both were mystery drama set during Ming Dynasty.

The rise of phoenixes and the longest day in chang’an - in avenueX’s words: beautiful but boring. So pouring in a lot of money and getting not much in return is not a great investment if you can do the opposite. On the same merit, greater expectations greater disappointment, hence why avenueX and the general public would rate low production dramas/underrated drama a lot better as well. So basically, I would say the loud mouth of the internet is also a great contribution to the declining in cdrama lawl

I recommend The Long River made in 2022.

@@appleish5043 I don't mind the low production values. However, there have been almost no Chinese productions that are interesting on the same level as the dramas I mentioned. Almost all the dramas I have checked out based on AvenueX's recommendation during the last few years, I have had to drop due to a lack of interest. Even dramas that I completed, like The Bad Kids, I found somewhat overrated. It wasn't even the best Light On Series (that was Moses on the Plain/Why Try to Change Me Now). Additionally, I think AvenueX never gave The Rise of Phoenixes a fair shot. She dropped it after just a few episodes, calling it a Nirvana in Fire copycat. I strongly disagree with such a description of TRoP. For starters, TRoP has a really great main cast. The chemistry between the actors is such a joy to watch. Moreover, the direction and production design is very good (dare I say, bettern than Nirvana in Fire). If it wasn't for so many plot contrivances in the last quarter of TRoP, I would put it on the same level as Nirvana in Fire Season 1 and maybe The Advisors Alliance. With regard to The Longest Day in Chang'an, I remember her giving it a positive review (doesn't it also have a good score on Douban?). It was only her recommendation that conviced me to watch it in the first place. While I think TLDiC is a seven out of 10 at best, there are still aspects of it that are executed at a very high level.

Let's hope it's somewhat better in 2024

She is spreading lyes in purposes because she knows most of her followers don't speak chinese and can't check what she says. In this case in particular, LYX, who has his own agency and is a independient actor, wasn't an investor. That's a fact. She simple does hate him and the show, and many watchers also follows the hate (don't talking here about people who didn't like the show or the actor and continue living normally). In fact, the show is highly recognized by the industry and government, that it could maybe be the reason for the hate?

I think we know she's biased towards LYX, she never once said a good thing about him. I agree the story, the make up and a lot of things went wrong for TTEOTM but LYX acting is not bad. Avenuex praises Ding Yuxi all the time whether he's good or bad, very contrast with her treatment to LYX.

It's funny how I disagree with you about TTEOM in relation to the novel. While I do agree the drama had some merits here and there (mostly 2 leading actors probably) but I think it did a great disservice to a very promising novel. They could take it with all its flaws and make it really work. Instead, they made it even worse. The only good thing I took from it that I read the novel out of curiosity (because I didn't understand the ending at all, and nothing made sense to me) and really liked it.

too bad for those who embraced the smear campaign against Only For Love and did not even try to understand. It's one of the most enjoyable cdramas I've watched.

Till the end of the moon is rated lower than Immortal Samsara, Love you seven times, Royal Rumours, Scent of time and a bunch of terrible boring contemporary dramas as well in China. So yes Chinese people really don’t like it, I guess people in different countries have different ideas of what makes a good drama. Aveneux even said that she doesn’t really like the genre of fantasy XianXia dramas and made a video on it as well, so do take her comment on fantasy dramas with a pinch of salt

how did you watch it 5 times omg, half way throught my first watch i got so sick of it but i was like ok i already watched half might as well finish it and just fast forward the rest of the show lol it was really bad for me

@@xiaominyan2420 Except that it has broken records in China and has been getting awards and recognition there. Data shows how popular it was on almost all Chinese social media sites. It was pretty consistent. Not to mention, positive reviews and comments were getting deleted by admins on Douban. This is a fact and was documented at the time. So while reactions were definitely mixed, To say it wasn't popular is not wholly true either.

@@x_aj_x1157 It has incredibly high viewership and engagement no denying that. But high viewership and engagement doesn’t always equivalent to it being a good drama and people liked it. I for one enjoyed watching it and whilst ranting about everything horrible about it like the plot, acting and cinematography. I treat it as watching a comedy whilst laughing. Many others followed the drama but only watched the rant videos on bilibili. But you are right it is popular and the platform will be happy.

Saying that high viewership and engagement doesn't equate to people liking it would imply the majority of people were hate watching until the end and I find that hilarious. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there were many who did. But the number of viewers was so high, that it's very unlikely that the vast majority of those viewers were all hating it. Most people are not going to continue to watch if they're not enjoying or liking it. let alone those taking part in positive engagement on Douyin, Weibo and other social media. (In terms of fairness I will admit that there was also negative engagement too) It literally boosted tourism in Bengbu. Merchandise sales were very high too. So if it was that popular, it stands to reason it was liked. It just wasn't liked by everyone. (which is fair enough) Some of the things you described as being horrible I liked. Loved the acting and chemistry of the leads. Really enjoyed the plot (even if it was watered down from how twisted the novel is) Cinematography. Hit and miss, granted. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes forgettable. OST and costumes? Beautiful and refreshing. Editing? hmmm questionable, admittedly.

My favorite for 2023 drama. Definitely my cup of tea. ❤

He didn't invest in it; back in 2021, when TTEOTM began filming, both him and his agency were still in a pretty sorry state. The first LYX drama his agency is actually investing in only started filming this december.

There's no investment from Luo yunxi. She's spewing lies without any base or evidence. I didn't know someone is such a big hater to the point they start making stories about him. If this video goes to his agency's notice, she can as well get sued for this.

Yeah, she ranted about TTEOTM months back and here we are again. This woman seems to have a bone to pick with TTEOTM and Luo Yunxi. Reviewers are supposed to be impartial and do their research about what they are reviewing. She just sprouted a whole load of lies about LYX. So unprofessional.

Luo Yunxi used to be a ballet dancer.

@@eshaleemadgavkar Yes, the core strength he built up as a ballet dancer helped a lot for scenes that required wire work. He also has the strength to carry his lady co stars without breaking out in a sweat and handles the ancient costumes with the grace and elegance of a ballet dancer. 😍😍👍👍

Tbh, I love A Journey to love. I am at episode 15 and think that the drama should ultimatively develop in another way, because this lovey-dovey baby talk between the lead couple gets very annoying

A Journey to Love should get the "Worst Ending" award.

Only for love has been hit by a smear campaign. But not one to get swayed by brainwashing attacks, I enjoyed it tremendously. Shi Yan is a far cry from Dongfang Qingcang since it's a modern drama and I don't expect Wang Hedi to play the same role over and over. But his portrayal of a stoic, stern and capable CEO who is also a loving, supportive but jealous lover is as fascinating to watch. Bai Lu's Zheng Shu Yi is one of the most interesting female leads I've watched in Cdramas. She is intelligent, beautiful, kind, filial but also self-centered, mischievous, flaky, quirky and naive. She reminds of iconic characters like Lois Lane, Bridget Jones and Scarlett O' Hara. Such a complex character is obviously quite a challenge to portray and Bai Lu pulled it off.

Yeah we would love a happy ending but I’d say if a drama has the ability to make audiences cry and feel emotions, it’s still good in my books.

in my opinion, her indecision actually made sense because it showed she struggled when she had knowledge of the past to compare with the future. I would be in disbelief if she started to take his side and ignored what he could become.

Literally just skip that part, that whole entire story is unnecessary, skip that entire part, n the drama ain't that bad

the clam arc was a great backstory and it actually cleared up quite a few things that were scattered throughout the story.

The other information are confidential, and she should not be in any position to get it as an outsider. The next thing you can try is a thought exercise, just think, for a second, the amount of money that goes into tteotm, and the maximum amount of money that an actor like LYX can put into the show. For either, you can use key words such as 长月烬明预算 for the shows budget est， and 罗云熙收入 for his income. With luck, you will realize that even if he pours all of his net worth into investment for this single show (not a smart investment decision by the way), the % will not be significant enough to give him any say as an investor. With both pieces of supporting information in hand, I hope you will realize why I voiced my dissent again her fake information. This will be the last time I comment on this video, as I do not want to give this RU-vidr any more interaction that I already had.

@@Cinamonshinybuttactually apart from OFL, which has script and direction problem, BL has acted well as the characters for all 3 dramas. And while some ppl dislike TTEOTM, many many love it. Same with SOKP, if it wasn’t because the dislike of this whole red flag in dramaland, it would have become a lot more explosive.

Only For Love is loved by viewers who did not get swayed by the attacks against it and have sense of humor. It's quite enjoyable and her quirky character quite funny.
