Absolutely! I’ve enjoyed both that I’ve driven now. The reviews of these trucks will be up soon, but I loved the Trailboss I posted a few weeks ago. Some people on the forums report over 30MPG. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Yeah a best of 5.5 in perfect conditions without the foot of roll out. If you look closely at the graph, the 6.2 got a 6.5 without roll out. @Automotive Anonymous motor week tested one and got funnily enough a 6.6 second 0-60 time. Plus you are not launching these trucks right. If you turn off the traction control in gm vehicles it let's you brake torque the engine to a little over 2,000 rpm and there is no lag for a couple of seconds for the truck to put down full throttle. I know because I've driven both the siverado 1500 and the HD silverado.
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Год назад
There will be more 0-60 testing and in better conditions and vehicle set up once weather improves! 🙂 I believe it was about 30 degree temps during my time with this truck and traction off likely wouldn’t have done a better time if it caused much wheel spin. A 6.6 time is pretty ironic, lol. Thanks for commenting!

@AutomotiveAnonymous208
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Год назад
I hear you. In my videos if the vehicle is brand new I typically only do the one acceleration that is seen on camera for an objective time, so that likely a few thousand people can have a more realistic understanding of the performance level. I know it’s minimal but with our air conditions and cars not making peak power here I feel like it’s slightly less aggressive to them while understanding that it’s still being revved to its shift point. I hope the video was helpful. I will say I just did a 2024 HD truck with the upgraded power figures, and that one was quite impressive! Thanks for watching and enjoy your sweet new diesel! 🙂
@jacobneal5388

Turn off the traction control so you can brake torque all of these trucks at 2,000 rpm or more and accelerate without the truck lagging to put full power down for like a second or two.

Don’t worry, they’ll be more of these type of tests and in better conditions. I believe it was about 30 degrees out this day so the roads were very cold and I wanted to reduce risk for wheel spin. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Which tows most in 5.3 vs 3.0 vs 6.2
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 9 месяцев назад
That’s a good question and one that I’m unsure of without extensive research. Each of those engines are available in multiple trim levels, and each trim level may have a slightly rear diff final drive ratio and suspension set up for what it can safely handle. I would assume they’re all fairly close when almost equally equipped, but maybe favoring the 5.3 and 3.0, as the 6.2 is more of the acceleration performance engine. 🤷‍♂️🤔

Turn OFF traction control!! GM kills the power for a full sec if you break toque it. That 23’ 3.0 with Max tow will chirp all 4. Launches like a rocket. Sport mode , TC OFF and brake toque and hold around 2k for about 1.5-2 sec. Let off the brakes as you stomp it. I Have a 23’ GMC crew cab regular bed max tow.

Great advice! It was about 30 degree during testing on this day so that’s why I didn’t bother with traction control, very cold tires/pavement 🥶. Ya I’d like to see that. Traction control off and 4wheel auto at 2000rpm launch. The truck I ordered RST 3L with tow package should be here in 3 weeks. I didn’t know it didn’t have 4l so ordered a high country. Once that one comes in I’m going to ask to take it for a test drive and I’ll do a test with the 373 so I know what my high country will do. I don’t think there is anyone here that does a test with 373 gears yet. Dying to find out what it will do.

This is true! 10MPG better is awesome but less so when diesel is 40% more than 91 octane in my area. Plus if I had the money to spend on either truck, I would also have the money to Whipple supercharge the 6.2 and at those prices fuel costs would in reality be less of a concern. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe someday? 😛😎

Great suggestion, and typically I would! We had 30 degree weather that day and wheel spin looses more time than the potential minimal amount it would have added in this situation. Personally I’m not a Chevy fan. I know a lot of people are, but I simply get more trouble free miles from the Ford pickups I’ve owned. Chevy has been having a ton of problems with their gasoline powered trucks blowing up. Chevy pickups have fallen to the Least reliable pickups on the market according to Consumer Reports. My sister needed a new pickup for her ranch so she bought a new Chevy and within a few months the engine blew. Chevy bought the truck back. And another thing, did you notice the Gloomy Grey and Boring Black interior colors from 1990 😂

Do you happen to know which engine your sister had in her new Silverado? I’m glad GM bought it back. I hear interesting things on both the Ford and Chevy forums concerning some issues owners have been having. Hopefully it’s the few and far between. 🤷‍♂️

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 She had a V8. That’s all I know. Chevy bought a LOT of trucks back from the owners that year. Ford is having problems with the turbos on the 3.5 V6 and the 2.7 turbo engine is junk. Ford is recently having trouble with the rings in the 302 (5.0L) V8 as well. Ford use to make the 4.9L in-line 6cyl . That was a very durable engine. Not a lot of hp but a ton of low end torque. Back when Ford produced the 4.9, I’d buy it over the 5.0 any day. You could easily get 300+K miles from them. Ford stopped producing them bc they said it wouldn’t pass emissions but Mercedes and BMW still produce the In-line 6cyl. Our pickup is a 11 Ranger with the 4.0L V6, 4X4. It does everything we need it to do for work around our property. It’s 12 years old and has only 35K miles on it. At our age, it’ll probably be the last pickup we’ll ever have to own.
