What are everyone’s favorite trends?!?? I want to know! I personally love every single trend, but I’d have to say “Cocooning Color” and “Sexy Sanctuaries” are at the top of my list 🤎
First of all let me start by saying not only are you beautiful put your talented your spaces are so heartfelt and beautiful and I just am breathtaking I am an enthusiast of decorating and I just love your sense of style and your sense of passion it's just Beauty and just looking at you motivates me and I'm short thousands of people better out there looking to make their home feel that warmth and that feel of relaxation and just knowing that there are people like you out there makes you feel safe thank thank you so much for your talent for your beauty and For Your Excellence in design .
I am just obsessed with the first design “trend” i don’t even know how we can say trend it’s so timeless and I would be so happy in an English country cottage! I love plants and pots and it just speaks to me! Imagine an arched tunnel through your garden with roses and hydrangeas everywhere! ❤
Oh my goodness me too!!! I could live the rest of my life in the English countryside and be happy as a clam. The gardens there are the most enchanting places. Yes to all things arched tunnel, roses and hydrangeas! I'm doing a garden tour video in late spring of my new cut flower garden, you're going to love it!
I like somebody who uses their hands when they are talking it makes it more expressive and fun, maybe that is because I am European. I liked your explanation of the different styles and the good helpful tips on how to achieve them.Thank you.
My favorite is artful architecture. I would love a full video dedicated to applied moulding on walls. There are so many different types of moulding out there that I get confused on which one is the best to create a modern classic look. Also I’ve always wondered how you hang art when moulding is on the wall. Thanks for an interesting and thoughtful video.
That’s such a great suggestion! We’ll for sure work on a video covering those topics 🤎 I actually just put raised panel moulding in our formal dining room and had to come up with a solution for hanging our artwork, I’ll share that tip as well, thanks!
English Country is definitely picking up steam in online spaces, but it’s a long-standing decor style that has existed for a while so it doesn’t feel “too” trendy. It’s an aesthetic that funnily enough matches my personal wardrobe (blazers, trousers, button-ups, etc) so I’m a big fan. When I was a child, one of my favorite movies was The Secret Garden, which is set in the English countryside, so it’s almost a full-circle moment that incorporates my past with my present.
I love that!!!!! I absolutely fell in love with the English countryside last year and could see myself living in an English cottage for the rest of my life! It’s such a beautiful, nostalgic design style.
Love that English cottage style is in this year! The images that you showed for this style had cozy niches, or as the English call them-“snugs”. I love that the spaces are lived in and look it. English cottage gardens are so dreamy! Yes, please! Thank you!
Love this video! I think so many were/are afraid to add some color in their home!!!! So worried to be different! People should be happy with the colors they love and add in accessories to keep an updated feel. I myself worried to go bold when everyone went bland! So happy I stuck to it. Now the warm and cozy colors & styles are back!! Plus, love English garden styling!
so so stunning and greatly executed!! There is no way I can choose a favorite, they're all so beautiful!! This makes me want to build a home right now and incorporate all of these amazing styles!!
I just discovered your videos, and I'm loving all of them! I've always loved the cocooning look! I also love the way your table is staged beside you, and where did you get your lamp? I love the table too.
Loving these trends. We sold our "Country Charm" FL home in one day, and there was a small bidding war so we gleaned a surprising profit. We moved to VA and are trying to transform our home in the country to make it more charming.
Lovin these top 5 design trends !! I like the English country charm and cocooning. Showing more sample photos or showing the photos longer while you are describing these design will be very helpful.
Happy about English cottage as I have a little English Tudor cottage in southern Calif and have strived to stay historically accurate and have embraced cottage style.
We are doing loads of cafe curtain styles right now in kitchens and primary bathrooms. They offer privacy but also let light in from the top of the window. We'll be posting a primary bathroom reveal next month, where I'll share the bathroom update in my home. I installed linen cafe curtains and I love them! I also love traditional floor-to-ceiling drapes (regardless of the design style of a room) with clean pinch pleats at the top and streamlined hardware. We honestly could do an entire video on window treatments there's so much to cover!
2023 must be my year! I love all five of these classics, but especially the English Cottage and cocooning trends. I'm naturally drawn to darker paint colors (my living room is chocolate brown). When the trend was white everywhere, I just knew it wasn't for me. I've heard if you wear rich jewel-tone colors, then your design style would mimic it.
I enjoyed most of these styles. I’m moving soon and I know I want to make my next ‘dining space’ into a cafe/library space with plants. I also have several friends that come over for pizza and play board games on the regular, so I will also need to display my board games in the living room. A cozy sanctuary would be wonderful to come home to. TFS!
I would love to see you take the ugly walk in bath that we see on TV ads and create a way to make it fit into some of the Trends you speak of here on this video... I personally like the Country French theme.. not cluttered... I Love the Artful Architecture.... beams, book shelves, moldings , coffered ceilings, arched doorways, pocket doors, stable doors, and others... elegance, cozy would describe the styles...
I used to own a sewing workroom and worked with a lot of designers... I missed that, anyway... we are in the process of buying a home and OMG you are giving me ton of ideas, I do not like a formal living room and the house we picked have one, when I walked in the realtor asked me what would I do with that room, and I said to him the most sexier library / game room for adults, without even knowing this was a trend, but you gave me the perfect colors to use. thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I’m so excited and happy I found your channel!! Love your presentation!! I’m a flower girl and love historical architecture!! My pick is the English Cottage design and Sexy sanctuary!! After a long day of work , love the idea of a glass of wine in a beautiful setting!! Thanks so much for your video!! Looking forward to your next one !!
Really good list!!! Strangely enough I’ve got absolutely all of them in my home, most of which were done years ago. So fun to have trends come to you. I’ll be bumping up the English cottage with some green accessories or paint somehow in 2023.
It is one of the best descriptions of decorating styles I've heard. Thank you for recognizing English Country as a design style for 2023. More often than not, it is dismissed as a style for 2023 and beyond. Personally, I'd like to incorporate English Country, Next to Nature, and Cacooning all on one home. I now have a jumping off point that is clear for the updating of our home. Would love to hire you. Thanks again
Thank you so much for your kind words! I love all three of those styles as well. I think there's such a great movement in design to create more warm, welcoming, layered spaces and I love it!
I have a small farm with barn and farmhouse. I also grew up on a farm..... I love the cottage design. All the things you suggested are such a perfect way to decorate. It really creates a hoey, cozy feeling. I also am also to implement the european country design. I would love to hear your comments on that type of design. Thank You, Sara
Hi!!👋🏾 New SUBSCRIBER!!🤗 Just came across your channel!!😲🙌🏾 Finally...someone heard me!😆 Cocooning/sexy personal cozy space is mostly me!! VERY well presented, "Thank you" and God Bless you and family!!
Love the English country look. It’s so welcoming and cozy. Every picture you showed was fresh looking, not stuffy. This is my first time seeing your Chanel and I’m happy I found it. Btw…I’m obsessed with your hair. What curl products do you use?
Thank you for all your sweet words, I'm so glad you like the video!! I use Curlsmith brand Shine Gel (strong hold), my hair is naturally crazy curly and it's my favorite product by far!!
That makes me so happy! It's actually a product I designed for my home furnishings brand, they'll be up on our site for purchase in February! www.ashleychilders.com
I love what you’re saying here but you don’t leave the pictures up long enough for me to study them. You put them up in a flash and then they’re gone other than that this is an awesome view video and I will be a subscriber of it. English country charm is definitely in my blood. I will take a lot of what you are describing here incorporated into my little 800 square-foot home I’m in the process of building right now.
This is the first video I have seen of yours and your information was so good and different, instead of the same thing as other design You Tubers. I have subscribed. 💕 Would love for you to not oversay “lean in” though. Lol!
What are your suggestions for an open floorplan that is north facing. We have several windows on the back but a full canopy of trees so we do not get direct light so the kitchen feels a bit dark. I like the warm neutral idea to warm up the space, What BM or SW color would you suggest for the cabinets and wall color
😅Please leave the pictures up longer. It’s so hard to absorb them in the few seconds they are shown. Thanks so much for your advise and for sharing your good taste.
Ah...2023 is over, but I think that the 'sexy sanctuaries' will stay for quite a while. I have always had my hobby incorporated into my home...and truly it is incredible. Actually, I have been doing so for almost 20 years, and my hobby is not an easy one to incorporate into a building because it requires vast ceiling height. When I was younger, it was loft living (with other artists) and now, I find that my forever home has it's own studio inside (easier to find in historic buildings)...vast ceiling height- so playing around in this space is quite fun. Fireplace also...so really it is indeed a sanctuary. Now, as I am into growing gardens- I want to use this space as a kind of orangery as well- dual purpose rooms are great...but this second part is in the planning stage still. I am hoping to put it into action this coming year. Anyway...all this to say that indeed, everyone should be incorporating a personal sanctuary into their home.
I couldn't agree more and your vision for your new orangery sound magical!! What a joy it is to live in spaces that nurture our interests, to me that's the epitome of beautiful living!
You do nice work in lovely settings. Personally, I would appreciate more time on the photos with your voiceover than with your set. It moves too fast to get an emotional, inspirational reaction to your design examples. thank you.
I actually designed it! It was a part of my furniture collection for years, but unfortunately we don't make the frame style anymore. Thank you for asking about it though, a dramatic modern wing chair is a silhouette I'll always love.
The thing is is you have to understand in the uk we don’t have huge houses we don’t have the land People only had what they needed Not sure you really understand what cottage is It’s definitely beautiful look
You flash the beautiful pics for a split second so we can barely even see it. Then back to your face ALL the time. We want to see the pics instead of you talking. Thank you
The hands... the HANDS!!!!! Your content was so nice but WHY do almost ALL designers on You Tube flail their hands all around everywhere, CONSTANTLY??? MY GOD. It absolutely drives me insane!!!!!!! HANDS FLINGING THE WHOLE ENTIRE VIDEO. UGGHHH.
