I bought a Cannon X as they came to the Australian market. I previously drove 2 top-of-the-line Isuzu Dmax LST utes prior to this one, now 35000 km on the clock with NO issues. I must say that this Cannon X is a far superior Ute to the DMax in practically all fields, let alone the financial gain made by buying a new Cannon X.
We have had the Cannon X now for 4 month and it has been great. No issues at all. Never have heard it explained much about some excellent features like LKA, BSW, ISA etc. Great car and no regrets at all.
Excellent review...although you didn't cover active safety features like parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, cameras etc or audio/visual like Android Auto/Apple Carplay and charging ports. What you did mention is the excellent voice command feature...no other reviewer has ever mentioned that. Kudos. Overall a good review...but saying it is packed with features, needs to be expanded in future reviews to make it more informative 👍
Or the fact that by buying anything Chinese your supporting a mob that hates Australia and have tried their hardest to destroy us economically, you also need to forget how they are willing to treat their own people (slaves)
I own a Cannon X with 30000kms. I have always been a supporter of the brand until now. I went to the dealer Autostrada in Western Australia, for a service and had them look at a minor warranty issue for a delaminating park brake button, along with recalling for the headrests to be replaced. This work was booked in over a month prior to the service date. It’s been over a year and when going to book my 30000kms service I enquired again as the the park brake and it turn out that even though the dealer told me it was warranty and would be replaced they had not even ordered the part and not submitted a warranty claim to GWM/HAVAL. Not only this they did not replace the recall item on the headrests. When I approached GWM/HAVAL HQ I was told it’s my problem and they have nothing to do with it. So basically, your on your own. Ok so you might think this is a dealer/service department issue but can you imagine if this was a larger warranty issue and this was the support you expect to receive. I was going to look at a new vehicle next year and I can be sure GWM/HAVAL are off the list. Warranty support is critical to me and this seals the deal. Thanks for no support GWM/HAVAL, if warranty is important to you seriously consider other brands, as GWM/HAVAL do not provide customer support.
They have an electric version in China. i have driven one , I was told it had more than 200 KW. it went like a scalded cat. it will be interesting if it gets here.
Update on dealer. I moved to a new dealer in Melville. Autostrada were just really bad at their role. I found the new dealers service and care much much better. I still found GWM's response to my concerns less than expected, but from what I understand most manufacturers are poor in the warranty space. This seems to be an industry wide issue and will only change if there is much more customer pressure to do so. All in all I'm still happy with the vehicle of course, and any negative I have reported has nothing to do with the current operation of the Cannon X
@@positivepete4265 you will find the answer to that in my original post. Despite many attempts with GWM they refused to help with the dealer. Not only that when I asked to speak to someone with actual decision making power I was ignored and despite a few attempts at getting any further I was blanked by GWM customer desk person
@@TheRobMarkby that's unfortunate, and clearly in violating of consumer law. It's ironic they want to position themselves in the market then fail on customer service.
The cannon x recently launched in my country and I'm interested on buying one. But the drawback is that I'm not sure if this truck can last at least 7 years old and above (of course with proper maintenance), and the parts availability. But will check further on this truck as well as on GWM as a whole :)
basically what ape said, that's excluding on road cost, licensing, stamp duty etc, which can easily add up an extra 5k-10k depending on what you get which your car still way cheaper then other competitors
