The 98th renewal of the $1,000,000 Hambletonian Open Trot final for 3-year-olds was won in dramatic fashion by TACTICAL APPROACH.
Driven by to a 1:50.3 new record from post 10, it was the win of a lifetime by Scott Zeron for trainer Nancy Takter and owners Robert Leblanc, John Fielding, Joe Sbrocco and JAF racing, the son of TACTICAL LANDING paid $26.80 to win.
For Scott Zeron it was his third Hambo trophy, a first for trainer Nancy Takter.
Bred by Steve Stewart and Oakwood Farm, at 12-1 odds this was the 6th but biggest of win of Tactical Approach’s career.
OH WELL finished second; UP YOUR DEO was third.
