No she does not ride, well not alone. I want her to learn, and get a trike. I wanted the tri glide ultra , however I too like what Harley did with the freewheeler by adding the fairing. I am upset of the features added or better yet lack of, but that is for another day.I sent her your video as an inspiration. you being a female and I am going to guess around her age and mine, if you can do it and have been doing it so can she. Enjoy you new ride to the max!

I am 56. I rode 2 wheels for a few years and just could not get out of my head some of the time and was always thinking of all those things that could go wrong. Yet, I missed the open road and how freeing it feels to ride especially by myself. This is a great compromise. I am glad I took a safety coarse back in the 1980s to learn motorcycle riding basics and rode 2 wheels for a while, but I know some who went straight to 3 wheels. If I encourage just 1 female who is on the edge of trying to decide to take the opportunity to learn to ride and does take that step , I will feel like I did my job here as an influencer. Keep me updated.

@MidLifeStyleTwins Год назад
@@dianedenroche1496 I bought the CVO Triglide in 2021. Before that I had a 2017 Triglide. Before the trikes, I had a 2007 Softtail and 1997 Sportster. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the three wheels because of how much more comfort and relaxed I feel on the road. I love being able to get out and enjoy the open road on a motorcycle without the worry I always had on 2 wheels (I could sometimes not get out of my head and worry about curves and all the things that could go wrong on 2 wheels). I am still very cautious but in a different way and with a lot less stress on the three wheels. I am not getting any younger and do not have to worry about dumping my motorcycle out on my own and then try to figure out how I am going to get her back up. I will also think about putting a video together talking about why I chose three wheels.

Wow, this video couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time! Like your husband, I too made the difficult decision to go from two wheels to three. I was in an accident in June of 2021 (driver pulled out in front of me), and I broke my right wrist in two places. Had to have surgery to install a plate and 11 screws. After I healed up and got the insurance settlement (my 2020 Low Rider S was totaled), I went out and bought the 2022 Low Rider ST EL Diablo 444/1,500. After one of my rides, I put the kickstand down in some soft concrete/small gravel. As I went to get off the bike, it tipped over. I couldn’t stop it. Worse yet, I couldn’t pick it back up by myself. So fast forward to today and I go to my local HD dealership on Friday to sign the paperwork for my new 2023 Road Glide 3 in Billiard Blue with black trim. I’m doing all the same upgrades as you are, but I’m having a Stage II kit installed as well. We’re waiting on the parts for that, so I’ll bring her in to have it done when I come in for the 1,000 mile oil change. I can’t begin to say how much it hurts my heart to let the EL Diablo go, but I know it’s the right decision, even though I’m only 51. I’m an Army/Persian Gulf veteran, and have other health issues due to that that helped make the decision a little more palatable. Looking forward to more content from you both on your RG3s (as well as making some of my own)! If I ever find myself in GA, I’d love to go for a ride with you both! My wife just got her motorcycle, so I’m looking forward to the amazing trips we’ll get up to together! Stay Shiny Side Up!

So sorry about your accidents. Glad you are still able to get up and out on the road. A biker is not defined by what he rides, it is who he is. Yes 2 wheels to 3 wheels is difficult--emotionally anyway. BUT I always think how wonderful it is to get to enjoy the open air, God's amazing creation with nothing between me and the sky, and feel confident that I can enjoy the ride without the stress that sometimes come with 2 wheels (and managing as I get older). Maybe we can change this perception for ourselves and others in the motorcycle community. Whether on 2 or 3 wheels...you can be a biker! Mountain roads on 3 wheels is just as fun as it is on 2 wheels I think. So, Win Win!! YES!! See email or our Facebook Page (MidLifeStyle Twins) to contact us if you are in this area. I love that your wife rides, too. What does she ride? Going to look for your channel. I hope it goes well for you. A lot of rewarding work, but it is fun. GOD BLESS AND SAFE RIDING OUT THERE!

Throttle Friend. I too suffered a couple of health issues that pushed me to get a trike. I had recently dealt with 4 herniated and one compressed lumbar disc. I went through weeks of therapy using spinal decompression. I still have some deficit with my right leg with some weakness and numbness. Shortly after getting back in the saddle I had difficulty holding the bike up and pushing it backwards. Shortly after getting better from the back issues I had a mild stroke. Fortunately I was mildly affected and have started a regimen of meds to help me. With all of that said, I made the hard decision to go to three wheels. I loved my 2020 RoadGlide Special with the billiard red and the Willie G Davidson number 1 design on the side, I had a stage two, with many other performance parts and was dyno-tuned. I became worried about riding with my club on two wheels for safety reasons and that was another factor in my decision. I have some upgrades coming soon and some future upgrades planned as well. Time in the saddle will tell about my feelings of transitioning to three wheels. I have named her Black Betty Bam-Ba-Lam. I wish you and your wife good riding and hopefully we can rendezvous in the future for a ride and comparisons.

@@chuckmcdaniel4820 I certainly understand. For the record, Miss Liberty is a gorgeous bike, I drooled over it a lot when my local dealer had one of the red and one of the blue in stock. We all have to do what we have to in order to take care of ourselves and put our health and safety at top priority. I have other health issues aside from my wrist - thankfully nothing with my back, I can't even imagine how terrible and painful that must be, brother. The way I look at it is this - If the people I call my friends have a problem with me making the decision to protect myself and my health by going to threes, then it's time to find new friends. I've never been in a club, but I have to believe that your brothers will understand and support your choice. Funny that you'd mention that name. I was originally going to buy the black/black RG3 my dealer had in stock and was considering "Black Betty" as a potential name. Then I found out my dealer could get the Billiard Blue/Black one in, and I went with that. Thanks so much, it's great to finally have my queen on a bike so that we can go have our own adventures out there! And we definitely will - it's not a matter of if, but when. I apologize if I saw incorrectly, but are you a Marine Corps veteran? Thanks so much for your service, brother!

@@MidLifeStyleTwins I've never let anyone else's opinion of me matter all that much. I think it's just the natural byproduct of aging and coming to grips with my limitations. Could I have picked that bike up pre accident? Definitely! But I have to live in the now, and an RG3 is what is best for me, even if it's only temporary - I'm still working on strengthening the wrist. That said, the RG3 or another trike will likely be in my stable for the rest of my riding career. Smaller bike for the around town, less than 100 miles trip - the trike for everything else due to the storage options and comfort. My wife bought a 2023 Honda Rebel 1100T with a DCT. Her left knee isn't in the greatest shape (karate for decades) and lifting up to upshift is painful. That said, she loves the idea of the heel shifter I'm getting installed, so I can see her being just as home on the RG3 as I am. AMEN sister! Stay Shiny Side Up!

Congratulations on your new ride. Question: Is there a difference in the ride with the fix batwing that mounted to the fork and the Roadglide 3 sharknose mounted to the frame on the handling?
@MidLifeStyleTwins
@MidLifeStyleTwins Год назад
Yes. It is easier for me to turn the RG3 because the fairing is mounted to the frame and the handle bars turn independent of the fairing. I feel like this is a lot easier. While I have good upper body strength and can manage the batwing fearing on the Triglide easily, I think if I did not have the strength, this would be a better option for me. Overall, I love the feel of riding the motorcycle without the batwing fearing.. I love the freewheeler because of that, but I also like the protection of the fearing. Having the sharknose fearing solved the problem for me. I hope this helps.

My wife and I have put on over 300,000 miles on two wheeled motorcycles, but she has battled cancer eight times, had 12 surgeries in ten years, maxed out on chemo, radiation and Cyber knife treatments. Ahw ia currently on Immunotherapy and will be every 28 days for the rest of her life. When the cancer in her brain caused her to have seizures I finally gave in and bought our first trike, a teal Tri-Glide. I fought the idea of a three wheeler for years. I told my wife I quit riding tricycles when I started grade school. But we put on over 20,000 miles on the teal trike and I traded for a Billiard red Tri-Glide and have gone over 11,000 miles on it. I like the red Tri-Glide but recently it has been going into limp mode with a top speed of about 30 mph. If it continues, it will be history. I will not keep anything that gives me trouble. When we want to go for a ride, I don't want to be on a machine I cannot trust. The last ride we took made it about five miles from home before it went back into limp mode. I might try a Road Glide 3, I don't know at this point. I like the Tri-Glide, but honestly I never use the radio, navigation, or blue tooth, so why have it? I do like the rear end styling of the Freewheeler/Road Glide 3. They remind me of the old service cars of the 1930's ams 1940's. I almost bought a 1937 service car once, but I chickened out. Wish me luck, I don't know if my Tri-Glide will be repaired or traded in on a Freewheeler or a Road Glide 3.

Yes, the old servi cars! That is one of the reasons I love the Freewheeler frame/look. I am so sorry to hear about the health of your wife, but am glad (from the sound of it) that she can sit comfortably on the back of a Triglide. I said a prayer for your dear bride and pray for God's healing on her body. May you have many more years riding together. I totally agree, I hated wondering every time I took that beautiful motorcycle out if it was not going to start again. That is a discouraging thing. Ride safe! Thank you again for watching.

@@MidLifeStyleTwins Thank you for the prayer for my wife. Her name is Sherry and we started dating in 1970 but we didn't get married until she graduated high school in 1974. I honestly like two wheeled motocycles better than three, but at least the trike keeps us out there enjoying the ride and the wind.

Can I say, I love the sporty look of the RG3? Now I love the feel of the RG3, independent steering (I love the fixed faring), and the open feel of the RG3. I do not like the Triglide closed in feeling with the tour pack on the back. All that I need fits in the new trunk space and I have plans to get vertical luggage bags that would be no higher than the Triglides tour pack. Plus I do not need all those bells and whistles. I have no regrets trading (almost 2 months in now). Thank you so much for watching.

Ha. Well, not sure what will be in my future but I do not think I will buy a new CVO again. Too many bells and whistles I really did not need. Only thing I miss is the storage but I have found a way to make it work with the RG3. Thank you for watching.

Started riding bikes in the '60s and Harley's since 1976. Now at 66 years old, I'm having knee issues and my balance isn't what it used to be. I have 3 Harleys but might sadly have to give up two wheels. I'm guessing your husband was in a similar situation? These trikes aren't cheap but I guess if I give up three bikes for one then it will be a wash money wise. Your CVO only had 8K miles? Why are you switching up so soon? I get that the 3 is sportier but aren't you taking a big financial hit? I know your finances are none of my business but being retired, the costs are a factor for me. Will be interesting to see what additional storage options you come up with. I do like the looks of the 3 over the Tri (geezer) Glides but they definitely have less storage.

Yes, my husbands health was his issue. My biggest regret is that I bought a CVO to begin with (will never buy a CVO again). A lot of money for things and headaches that I do not need. I got a good 2 years out of her and great trade in value so that was good (I do not like to carry a payment on these toys). I will retire in 8 years. So I have some time yet, but have plans. Thank you so much for watching. I hope you find a ride that fits you.

Thank you for watching. I wish I could have kept it and gotten the RG3, but to me that would have been foolish. I do not have time to ride 2 motorcycles and I do not like to be in debt or have a payment hanging over my head for "fun" things. I have always loved the Freewheeler, but I like having a fairing. Since Harley came out with one this year, that’s what I decided to get. It was truly a tough decision. I loved that red Triglide. Bittersweet day!

If I had it to do over, I would never had gotten a CVO. There are way too many bells and whistles on it and not really worth the money. It is amazing how many different ideas and likes people get just from the latest fad. In my opinion the RG3 is a fad. It will last a couple of years and then what. To give up a CVO Tri Glide for the RG3 boggles my mind. But then, It is what you like. I am sure you did not pay any money for the swap. They might have had to credit me for that exchange.
@MidLifeStyleTwins
@MidLifeStyleTwins Год назад
After riding it for a month I am actually happier than ever that I made the trade. I know for some that would not be the case but for me it is. It is easier for me to handle. I just love the way it feels, the independent steering, and the way it looks. It feels more open to me like my old days of riding on my soft tail only on 3 wheels now…if that makes since. There are some things I miss from the Triglide but I have no regrets trading. There were a few other reasons for trading, but I feel all has turned out as it should for us. If I could have kept them both I would have, but I do not like debt. 😊. I so appreciate you watching and your honest feedback.
