Great video. I just bought my 2023 NC750X DCT last month. After having hand surgery for Osteo, I had a hard time doing the hand clutch in traffic. The DCT is amazing how well it shifts and I love that I can tap the downshift button and slow the bike down without using much brakes, just like a bike with a standard shift.

Hello from Greeley :-) - I just bought the 2023 NC750x - really love it so far. Actually went in to look at the rebel 1100 because of the dct but the fit was weird and I ended up trying this one…really glad that I did. My first bike of this type.

Great video and analysis. It was this bike vs Ninja400/z400 as a beginner and your video convinced me to go with this one. The DCT is the selling point. After getting experience driving this bike for a few years, I can always go back to a Ninja/z400 and just focus on the clutch after I'm really comfortable on the roads. This definitely has a look of a streetbike which I love.
@QuietPlaceswithMarshall
@QuietPlaceswithMarshall Год назад
You won't go back to a Ninja 400, you'll have no reason to. Clutch bikes are a little more engaging, but unless they have a quickshifter, you'll always lose a half second of power while changing gears. DcT is addictive; It's so nice to just twist the throttle at a green light and leave the car behind you in the dust as the bike seamlessly changes gears without a loss of power between. Besides, throw some Shinko 705 tires on the 750x, and dirt roads are suddenly on the menu.
@sonicmoj1
@sonicmoj1 Год назад
@@QuietPlaceswithMarshall That's a great point. Thanks for your suggestions. I think you are right about not going back to the Ninja 400. I can see this being my forever bike. Plenty of power for the highway and great commuter as well. I have no intention to go to track days as well so I think this one is one size fits all. I'm 6'0 175 lbs so based that you can flat foot that gives me reassurance that I can handle this bike. I was a little apprehensive about the wet weight being more than a ninja 400 but it seems I was a bit too paranoid before watching your video.

The NC750X is on my radar as a replacement for my 2013 Super Tenere, that I picked up new in 2016. I would also choose the DCT version. The Super T is a great bike, but it's heavy and tall. I really want to see Honda bring the NT1100 to the US, as it has Cruise Control!! I need CC for long trips as I have a bum right shoulder. Great review.
@ridingwithmarshall
@ridingwithmarshall Год назад
I've turned down the ST for the same reason. Now, if you want cruise with a DCT, I suggest the Africa Twin with the lowered seat option! I just sat on one, and was the same foot position as my NC700. That's acceptable to me, especially with nearly twice the HP of the 700. No storage on the AT though. I can't stress enough how awesome the locked "frunk" of an NC750x is!

What a brilliant fun video……I bought my 2023 NC750XDCT in January…..returning to riding after 42 years, I am just getting used to slow riding, slowly getting more confident, I have a few refresher lessons next month on a smaller bike, then our summer arrives, and I’ll be out having fun…for me my bike is just for fun. I have a few extras on my bike, have to say I hate the battery cover, awful to get off, I broke two of the pins, but I can attach it with Velcro, so no worries….I will fit a fender extender and a rear hugger….great bike, oh by the way I too play guitar….but nothing as good as you….brilliant stuff, I have subscribed with you, I enjoy the way you do your videos…cheers from my small island of Jersey …..yep the original off the coast of France…

I wouldn't walk the bike in gear anyway. My 2021 dct with ride by wire, the throttle is super light, very easy to 'blip' the throttle whilst back peddling the bike. I bought the same bike a couple of months ago. Same color too. Put a taller windscreen, crash bars, handguards, handlebar risers, and sw-motech saddlebags on it (removed most of time). I'd say it's more of a sport touring bike than adventure now. Only thing I wish it had that doesn't is cruise control. I had a rebel 1100 dct before this only because I couldn't find one of these. I like the nc750x way more. I commuted on scooters to work a lot and got used to living without a clutch. Edit: I also dont think the lights are powerful enough. So I'm adding driving lights (fog lights) soon.

I am split between the Rebel 1100 and NC750X, and perhaps the BMW 750GS as well to be honest. But curious what you didnt like about the Rebel? I am only looking to tour on these, not for any off-roading. Would have loved the cruise control but it isnt available even as aftermarket upgrades for the NC, so kind of confused which one should I settle for. Breaking in the NC 750 How do you break in a motorcycle. What is your take, your procedures
@ridingwithmarshall
@ridingwithmarshall Год назад
Some dealers told me to ride it like you stole it, and they are not too wrong. Test the brakes first. When I bought the Fury with less than a mile on it, the front brake didn't really grip for the first three attempts; too shiny. Like a car, you don't want to race it right away; the pistons need some time to settle into a well fit relationship with the rings. Treat her gently on the throttle for the first 100 miles, I think. The activity to avoid is setting the cruise control to one speed and riding there for too long. Engines should experience a range of speeds and conditions to allow the systems to heat up and wear evenly. Also, new tires can be VERY slippery at first, as they have mold casing on them from the factory. Consider not riding aggressively until that is wore off, maybe in 50 miles. I'm answering this from the top of my head, so consider consulting the user manual for the manufacturer's recommendation.
