Had mine since February 2023 bought it kind of spontaneously was looking for a cross over but went with this love the bose sound system and the MPG great little commuter
I was just driving a 2023 Elantra Essential (base model) and I really like them. It’s comfortable, I LOVE how the turn signals feel. I did 150 mi trip with cruise control set at 75 mph and according to the car I averaged 49.5 mpg. The 2.0L and CVT are honestly a good pairing. I like how responsive the CVT is. I personally like it more than the new Civic and Sentra. Although i think the Jetta and Mazda 3 are nicer to drive.
Another thing that I love about this car is the ambient lighting (which we didn't get a chance to see). Just adds that extra bit of drama/style a person looks for.
That’s amazing to hear. Just bought it today. My first ever car was a Hyundai ELANTRA end it lasted for 15 years. It was already six years old when I bought it used. They are great cars.
The Elantra Bose audio system comes with noise filtering set to medium; if you turn this off in the preferences section, you'll get considerably improved audio response. I have a $2,000 home theatre audio system in my living room, and the Bose audio system in the Elantra sounds as good or better. I often find myself just sitting in the car, just so I can listen to it. When you turn the noise filtering off, it's really much better.
you actually can change the gauges manually if you go into the dashboard settings and choose Theme Selection. In addition to the white/sport gauges there is a dark theme and a digital theme. (I own one of these)
Was just coming on here to share the same thing. Hyundai/Kia allow you to separate the gauge display from the drive mode and keep it fixed on one of the options all the time.
I like when the two of you get together for a review. A little banter goes a long way. I smiled when you said Hyundai & reliability in the same sentence. I laughed out loud when passangers get annoyed having to hold the window button up or down for 3.4 seconds. How far have we come. I have a 03 F150 we keep around for whatever. Getting is inspected for smog a few weeks ago. I apologize to the technician for having to manually roll down the window. He laughed and said it probably will never break. I vet he right.
Hi guys! You can change gauge clusters to 4 different styles. Which stay on all the time until you change it. It’s under Vehicle information I believe and it’s listed as A, B, C,D. I like the blue one that shows speed and Rpm In digital format in blue color.
Re transmission options at 5:40: The N comes with an 8 speed, dual wet clutch auto shifted manual transmission with shifts so crisp, it will realign your spine. The Hybrid comes with a 6 speed, dual dry clutch auto shifted manual transmission which is somewhat more sedate and civilized, but still vastly superior to a continuously variable transmission.
That cluster can be changed permanently so the different drive modes doesn't change its appearance I made it to where the sport gauges are permanent on all 3 drive modes in the system settings
Yes! There is a checkbox which can be unchecked so the gauges are not linked to the drive modes. This way you can use sports mode gauge for normal mode.
Re hybrid fuel economy at 3:00 : I regularly get 56 miles per US gallon at 70 MPH in my 2023 Elantra Hybrid. The 0 - 60 time in the Hybrid is 8.4 seconds, which is faster than the non hybrid variant (and many 1970's era musclecars); and the handling is also superior due to the fully independent rear suspension, which the non hybrid variant lacks. The Hybrid version is definitely a great combination of acceleration, handling, and fuel economy.
look up comment higher: non hybrid get 49.5 mpg on 75 mph. Difference not a big. I can understand choice hybrid becouse it has independent suspension, but not for economy when it cost more 2k dollars... By the side, hybrid version has problem then, after ~8 years... You need SG (Hybrid Starter Generator) Belt Replacement after 108000 km of 48 month... Then battery... DCT clutches...
I have the 23 Elantra N and I agree with that white normal drive mode cluster. I set it so that any mode I’m in has the eco blacked out gauges. It’s so much easier to look at, but I use N custom most of the time anyway haha
Many people are unaware of this - the base Elantra is one of the lightest cars on the market! And add the well-tuned IVT, it became the fastest car in the low $20k.
I've had this car since 2021 and I really love it. And so do all of my friends. They always seem to complement how spatious it is and the ride quality is very smooth. I know it's not fast in a straight line but I've noticed that it handles like a dream and you can definitely have fun with it. It's my first car and I couldn't have asked for a better one
I never knew the Elantra had a CVT transmission, but I think Hyundai does a great job with this CVT transmission. Same transmission that's in my Venue, and it's very responsive.
I was wary before my test drive coming from a 6 cyl, but when merging onto the highway I didn't even think about the acceleration, it was just there when I needed it! Hyundai has some surprisingly zippy little cars now.
I’ve owned a 22 Elantra SEL for about 11 months now. Bought it brand new with only 10 miles on it and we just put 32,000 on it a few days ago. It’s been great and for some reason…getting better. 2 days ago We finished a 308 mile trip, cruise set between 72-78 averaging…🥁…46.6 miles a gallon. From a non hybrid. For the first few month of owning it we could only get like 41mpg but it’s fantastic for a car advertised at 40mpg on highway.
What i don't like is the passenger seat side bar that extends up the left side shift area console. That would be if your sitting in the passenger seat on the left side. It feels very restricting and they should have left that out to open it up more. It's like sitting in an airplane seat.
A lot of people don't seem to realise but you use the gear select mode when you're going down hill for more engine breaking 👍🏻 Also a Sonata N line is 35k! not 27!!
If the LTD is like the LTD hybrid I have, you can go into the vehicle settings and change the cluster to something better, with lighter (almost white) markings / numbers on a darker background. Still not optimal with the neon blue pointers but better than the default scheme which has horrible visual contrast with thin black typeface on a silver-ish background.
@@tempestsquall5882 why not? I can just not use it if I want to. The switch is two stage. I think it's awesome for when you get in your car in the hot summer and just roll all down. But I just use my key to do that before I get in.
@@Addison0526 sometimes it can be a bit annoying if I can't catch my window from going down further then I want, my E39 has two stage activation which makes it better but I still say it's one of those things I can live without, like fully telescoping wheels and what not.
No chance man. Anything Hyundai/Kia has a target on its back. I wish that wasn't the case because I really wanted the Elantra N but they've failed massively.
All of the new models do not have the theft issue. Any older ones from 2014 onward with a push button start are also unaffected. And even then, thieves will not care even if you buy a different car. I've seen brand new Audis broken into. 🤷♂
@@xxxaiten8129 It's been sloppy for some models. There's some software updates for newer models which will help increase security, others have simply been recommended the Club for their steering wheel.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates it when automakers place their trunk release button somewhere ludicriously out of view to "integrate" it into the design. Try to find it on a 2015-present Charger. It took me nearly FIVE minutes to find that stupid thing. My lord.
Impreza RS! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BDNTFimr868.html Should be getting into a 2024 Crosstrek soon...would recommend that over the RS
in USA and korea, they get 360 degree view camera, blind spot camera on your gauge cluster when u put on turn signals, front parking sensors, and im pretty sure a few more canada sadly does not get them.
No, USA doesn't get it. Korea does. I do wish we got the limited for the 2024 in Canada as the luxury is missing so many features which is unbelievable
I have an SEL Convience and I honstly feel like the bose system doesn't add too much besides that little sub in the trunk. The base system sounds pretty good and it gets loud enough to shake the windows if you crank it!
Nooo KIA did not ditch the manual on the Forte GT! They have always had the 147-hp 2.0L NA 4-cyl IVT on the GT-line *AND* the 201-hp 1.6T 4-cyl DCT/6spd-manual :) GT still gets the manual, on the contrary to what Chris said at around 5:30
Re justifying higher trim levels: get the Hybrid, and over the lifespan of the vehicle you'll save back 15 grand or more in fuel costs. That's way more than the difference from the cheapest Elantra to the top of the line Elantra Hybrid. You get your cake, and eat it too; you get to enjoy the very top trim level, but over 15 years your total out of pocket cost is less than if you'd opted for a bare bones, non hybrid Elantra. And the improved performance and handling is just icing on the cake.
See, I wonder if the Japanese even care about competition like this if they’re supposedly not as reliable as them. Maybe they know they’re running on reputation then.
@@ShaiyanHossain my last Toyota, which was a 2016 Corolla, getting any Toyota dealership to honor warranty work was like pulling teeth. Toyota's customer service was an absolute joke, and I even had to sue to get them to buy the car back. That was my third and final Toyota. Plus, they were never as refined as my other vehicles from different brands. And their interiors got cheaper and cheaper the newer they were
@@ShaiyanHossain and to add insult injury, every Toyota lacked several standard features that I get on my Kia and my Fords and the one Mazda I had in the past
28,000 is too much money. This vehicle should not cost over 20,000 and that’s on the generous side because I think it shouldn’t be over 17,000 base model
I really like this car but the one thing I don't like is the steering wheel spokes. I mostly drive with my hands on 8 and 4 but this seems impossible or really uncomfortable on these newer hyundai steering wheels. It seems that it's only meant for 9 and 3. Has anyone tried driving with these new steering wheels with their hands on 8 and 4?
I love the Elantra but what kept me away is the fact that leather is only available on the limited. Sel w convenience is the sweet spot in the lineup but it has Hyundais awful cloth at least give leatherette. I do appreciate the ambient lighting and the grey interior w the grey wool like material offered on the limited
At that point i would shell out 2k more for the N line and get a much better engine(a little under 300 hp) and a DCL(or manual if you prefer that), on the other hand the 22k model is much more bang for your buck
I've rented a lot of these commuter cars and SUV's through Turo. I'll tell you this, Hyundai's and Kia's are all show at the dealer. When the real world hits, these cars are fragile, their transmissions feel terrible, and the gearing ratios help you achieve this mileage. What you don't get is a car that is able to maintain a speed, you get constant downshifting & upshifting at inconvenient times. The vehicle is truly attempting to maximize MPG and minimize your safety in the process. There is zero chance youtubers and car reviewers are not paid off by Hyundai and Kia, i.e. Car & Driver, etc.
I own an Elantra N manual and it is thriving in the real world. Maybe the car reviewers who love it are getting paid but I’m not. The car is amazing and there’s not a car at the same price point that can match its performance.
@@boogiedownkid5465 The Elantra N is a nice car for sure! More in reference to the tucsons of the world. They're unable to handle west va mountain driving
@@ADHski oh I see. That doesn’t surprise me to hear that. When I went to the dealer to purchase my N I got the same impression while just looking around at their lower end offerings as they were taking care of my paperwork.
