I don’t know why I always do this. Buy a brand new car then watch the reviews🙄I got this exact same one but black, with sun roof as well. Bought Nov 2022. Anyway my previous car was a 2014 Elantra GLS that served me and is still running well for my buddy with 170K kilometres. I really like the safety features with the 2023, big change for me
@TH8007
@TH8007 Год назад
Curious. On the dash were the blue line shows all the way across. Do you have the option of changing the colours? Or, does that option only come on the higher level trim? Is this one the sun and tech package or, the preferred with just the tech?

If I give the dealership my preferred LED bulbs to change the headlights, would they do that for me? Or I have to change it by myself? I'm planning to buy one next July from this dealership.
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
Hello Ahmed. Did you mean that you're going to be buying the vehicle from Jim Gilbert's Wheels and Deals? I'm sure you could ask them if they'll do the install for you. Some LED bulbs aren't exactly plug and play. Sometimes they require more than just switching the bulbs, so I would just discuss what you have with the service department that you're hoping to work with, that way they'll be able to give you an idea if they can do it or not.

Forward collision breaking, does it work during forward parking as well? I miss that feature while forward parking sometimes it really tight area with other vehicles and need to park and i miss forward camera that time? I am not sure if this car has that feature
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
This car doesn't have a camera in the front that will display on your dash, but it does have a camera that feeds the safety systems... they system is CAPABLE of braking the car without the driver's intervention, but there are MANY circumstances where it will NOT intervene, so it's not something that should be relied upon to slow or stop the car, it's purely an emergency measure that is in place in order to attempt to slow or stop the car at the last possible second, if it feels like the driver isn't paying attention.

@@PeterLoweOne ok and is there any car garage door programming we have in elantra? I was not able to find that one, i did not even pay attention to the buttons if we have any in the centre mirror, do you have any idea abt it

Peter - I would love your advice! I currently drive a 2013 Mazda 3i with 170k miles and I’m looking to upgrade within the next 3 months. I’m stuck between the 2022 Kia K5 GT (possibly GT Line instead), 2022 Elantra Limited, 2023 Sonata N Line, 2022 Sonata Limited and the 2021 Audi A5 (although I’ve heard repairs are expensive). I want as much tech as possible with the sportiest looking car I can get. In a perfect world, a car with over 260 hp, with top of the line tech and under $35k used. I’ve watched literally every review out there on each car trying to decide what I want. I’m stuck. Do you have any words of wisdom or insight? Or potentially another car I should consider? Any and all advice is welcome :-)

Haha! That's a tough one! So I'll tell you what I tell salespeople when I train them. People buy cars "because they like them" almost no one buys a car because of a spec sheet. In several classes of cars there are clear class leaders, but people continually buy the other cars at high rates? Why? Because they like them! Spec sheets are great, but even peak horsepower numbers can be extremely misleading. The motorcycle world is excellent in this case, there are several motorcycles who have competitors that make more PEAK horsepower, but the one with less peak horsepower actually makes more power throughout the rev range, but just not as much horsepower at the last 5 percent of the rev range... so if you ONLY shift at redline, then yes, you'll experience more horsepower from one motorcycle, but if you shift like literally everyone else, the one with less PEAK horsepower is actually giving you more power when you drive it. So think of it this way. People buy cars because they like them! They JUSTIFY cars based on features, stats, specs, etc. And justifying the cars to their friends, or even themselves can be important, but the people who are HAPPIEST with their purchase buy the cars that they like. Where this falls apart is in reliability issues. If you bought the car that you like, but find it unreliable, you'll be disappointed. So my advice is to try to figure out what matters to you. Peak horsepower might me a nice bragging right, but how does it drive. Do you like the way it drives. Lots of features are nice, but does the car you want have the features that matter to YOU. If it has heated seats, but no Apple CarPlay... you might not want it if you live in Arizona. etc. So it's always tough for me to choose cars for other people, but do your absolute best to get a proper test drive in the cars that you're interested in. Then buy the one that you LIKE the best, that has the features that REALLY matter to you. That's almost always the right choice.

As it turns out, over the life of the vehicle the Elantra Limited Hybrid is CHEAPER than the Elantra preferred non-hybrid. This is because the Hybrid will save you about $12,000 in fuel savings when compared to the non Hybrid Elantra. Because there's less than $12,000 difference between the cheapest Elantra out there and the top end Elantra Hybrid, the top end Elantra Hybrid is the cheapest vehicle to own. Worth mentioning to your budget minded clients.
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
So one of the issues with me telling people that is it will depend on how they drive. But yes, many Hybrid versions of vehicles will pay for themselves with fuel savings and resale value.

Stop saying halogen will melt the snow. So all the luxury cars that only have LED is bad?
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
Not at all!! I love LED lights! They're far superior in nearly every way! But if they don't have a heating element in the lens, they won't melt snow. I've driven several newer vehicles with LED lights in snow storms, and if there is a sticky snow, you will absolutely lose visibility at night with LED lights. I went through this just last month on both my Kia Soul EV and with my Jeep Wrangler 4XE. I've had the same issue with my Santa Cruz Ultimate the previous winter. I'm speaking about something that is known within the auto industry.
