In this video I show you the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Limited. The Santa Fe Hybrid Limited is very similar to the gas Santa Fe Limited however with a totally different powertrain. The Hybrid powertrain means this Santa Fe gets over 10 MPG better in the city vs the 2.5T although the highway highway MPG is only 2 MPG better. With increased capacity at HMMA, this means the Santa Fe Hybrid is the first Hybrid with final assembly in the United States from Hyundai. I’ve had my 2022 Santa Fe Hybrid for about 7 months. I love it. About to break 10K miles. Have driven some great distances and gotten great gas mileage. But in town, I can go nearly a month before filling up. It’s just that great on gas. I have the premium and am kicking myself for not getting a higher trim because after having my last 3 vehicles with memory seats, front radar, and heated steering wheel…well, you kind of get spoiled! There have been no issues I’ve had with this vehicle whatsoever.

Awesome! Thanks for providing your feedback on ownership. I have heard very good things about the Hybrid versions of the Tucson and Santa Fe. Given the fuel savings and driving experience, the up front cost seems fairly small.

We have the 2023 version of that same exact vehicle. It is the most awesome car we have ever owned(yup paid all cash). It is so luxurious and is such a great car to drive. All the added features have taken so much of the stress out of driving its a truly amazing car. Thinking of buying one? Think no more DO IT!!

I'm looking to buy one soon, but wonder what the next year Santa Fe will look like. Plus maybe the predicted recession will depress dealer markups. I'm glad to see that the options on my 2013 is still here on the 2023, 4 way lumbar, relining rear seats with heat and sunshades in the door, No 40/20/40 rear seat, but the drivers thigh support looks useful. Plus going hybrid will get me away from that wonderful 2.5 Turbo. Good power, but I'm still wary of their engines after the theta series fiasco. Lost my 2.0T to a spun bearing at 89k miles. But Hyundai's styling still looks better to me than any comparable vehicle.

Well, I traded my Kona N for the Hyundai Santa Fe plug-in and very happy with it for luxury vs hard ass hell ride. I'm enjoying the electric side to power all well available and hybrid mode. I drive less that 35 miles and enjoying the all electric mode. We need more class 2 electric cords.

@@jacedragon I was out the door for my Blue with beige Limited HEV at $43,355 US plus WI sales tax and Doc fees of $2229. I bought mine without any add ons such as the cargo package, floor mats etc. You can get all that stuff cheaper online. My front and rear custom rubber mats {Croc brand} were $100 vs well over $200 for Weather shield mats. They tried to sell me over $2000 in dealer addons such as paint protection, glass treatment, interior protection etc, but I stood firm and politely refused it all.

I am looking at getting a hybrid version. I watched a few videos on this and had 2 questions. One, it was mentioned that there is a draft coming from the sunroof and side door, do you feel that? I live in Ohio and it gets cold so obviously I want it to feel warm. Second, is it tricky for others to see the turn signals as they are so low? I want to be safe! Thanks!

I don't have a ton of experience with the Santa Fe so I cannot speak for any draft. Typically they are very well insulated. As for the lighting, I would say generally there are no issues and it helps if you get one with LED as they tend to be brighter.

I live in WI and just purchased a Santa Fe Limited HEV. Love it so far. I too saw that review mentioning a draft. I have not experienced that in my vehicle. The rear turn signals were a styling choice by Hyundai. They are easily seen unless someone is pulled up very close to the back end.

I’m not a fan of the electronic handbrake. After driving the Hybrid RAV4 it auto turns on the handbrake when you but the vehicle in to Park where as the Sante Fe requires manually turning it on and off. Not very intuitive. The paddles are also a little annoying as when you turn the steering wheel and place your thumb inside the steering wheel the paddles get in the way. The head cushion on front passenger and driver seat are veeery comfortable. I love the function that memorises the seat setting for 2 different drivers as I’m taller than my wife.

No spare tire on any Santa Fe Hybrid. I cannot recall if there is enough space for a compact spare or not.

Yes the spare should be under the vehicle. It is a temporary spare not full size.

Good question. After doing a quick forum search I came across a few suggestions. It looks like 2019MY was the last year to have sliding 2nd row seats for the Santa Fe's built here in the US. It appears the Hybrid may have had this feature up until 2022MY due to the fact it was produced in Korea. Hyundai moved production of the Hybrid to here in the US for 2023MY which means it likely lost the sliding 2nd row seats. So essentially it was dropped likely due to where it was manufactured. I haven't seen an 2023MY PHEV's but if/when those are sold, it would be interesting to see if it still has this feature.

Yes. You are sitting up much higher off the ground than the Sonata. If you talking about visibility from the drivers seat, they are both very good with the seat raised up.

Hi I just leased this car . I love the car it's fully loaded. But I am a little disappointed because the Huyndai 2024 Santa Fe is coming out in a few months. I was not able to wait. My 2022 Hybrid Ltd has all the seats with quilted portions on the top half. I see these 23 MYs don't. I also have the back of the driver's seat with a pocket. Don't know why the 23 MY wouldn't.

I am torn between Hybrid Limited and Gas Limited. I heard Gas Limited has dual clutch and it has sluggish at low speeds, that's worry me. Can you let me know about that? If you have to choose 1 then which one do you prefer? Thanks

Great question! The 2.5T does have the 8 speed DCT which some may not prefer. The Hybrid will have the 6 speed auto. Honestly for the price point, I would likely go with the Hybrid because from an MSRP basis, the Hybrid is actually slightly cheaper.

Great question. I don't have an exact angle measurement but I would estimate somewhere around 20° further than the most upright position. It has a very large amount of positions you can set it to.

I wonder the same thing. I believe the Calligraphy has a slightly darker beige compared to the Limited. I have not been able to see the Calligraphy in person but based on videos and pictures it looks darker.

What I don’t like about this vehicle is the exposed screws that stick upwards to bolt the driver’s seat to the floor. It’s an accident waiting to happen. They should have capped the screws or covered them with plastic. I like the vehicle.

I bought a new 2021 Santa Fe Hybrid Limited in April end 2021. It has 2 more features than the 2023 one: (1) map pocket behind the driver seat (2) spare mini tire. The plug-in hybrid was not out then and in case was not sold in Texas. I got a 3 yr maintenance (oil change & tire rotation) and the best part, a 0% financing for 60 months. The dealership emailed me the out of door price and I paid (that price - the deposit) / 60. As such the time at the finance office was about 7 minutes to sign the papers. I had the car in 30 minutes.
