RH, I found your channel about 2 tears ago when I was shopping for my first motorcycle. I was considering the Suzuki M90 as my first motorcycle. There was one that had been sitting in a dealership for 3 years and they were offering it for a steal, so I ended up buying. I enjoyed your review prior to buying it and found after riding it for several months, that your review was pretty spot on (the engine HATES low RPMs and you gotta rev it, to keep her from shaking). As time went on, I was considering that when, or if, I were going to upgrade, it would most likely be the Chief Dark Horse. I liked the gauge and I didn't think I wanted a bagger. Unfortunately, someone cut me off and my M90 was totaled out (I recovered in about 6 months), so I went shopping. I really liked all of the Indian motorcycles. They are getting it right. I ended up getting a 2023 Springfield Dark Horse last November, even though I loved the gauge cluster of the Chief. Thanks again for your channel! I'm glad you are enjoying your ride and I appreciate your reviews and your comments are always spot on.

My friend, you are a breath of fresh air and you tell it like it is. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I currently ride a big Victory Bagger, but am looking for a second motorcycle more suited to daily riding and commuting that can pinch hit for long tours, but also good on unpaved roads. I would seriously love a Guzzi V85TT, but the nearest dealer is in Minneapolis and I live in Sioux Falls, SD. I am considering some other options. Like you I am tall 6' 4", weigh about 270lbs, 32" inseam and wear a 13 shoe. You see what I mean? What makes a premium bike is first reliability, ease of maintenance, then good design and workmanship and predictable handling. Last of all an ability to move the soul! You should sigh in joy every time you get on the bike! I am also open to suggestions. Please keep up the good work.

Hey, bro I like what you did to it, I'm looking at the Chief Bobber Dark Horse 2022 116 engine

Hi. How bad is the heat coming off the engine? Similar to the Low rider S? Is it a tie with the rear cyl deactivation vs Harley 117 oil cooler? Thx

I saw one ( Springfield Dark Horse ) with a batwing fairing and a slim tour pack on the back. Looked bad ass. I want one but im worried about being stranded in the middle of nowhere and a dealership being hundreds of miles away or not even in the state.
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog Год назад
The engineering is pretty straight forward and they are actually pretty easy to work on, but they are also solidly reliable. I know that they do not match the dealer network HD has, but, they also will not leave you stranded.

@RabidHedgehog Well that's good to know. I really like the Springfield Dark Horse. I guess I need to go to a dealership and talk to them. May ease my mind about them

I've had my 2023 Springfield Dark Horse for just over a year now, LOVE IT! No issues. I have a little more piece of mind since there are 3 dealerships near me (I am in San Diego, CA), but I have never feared that it wasn't a reliable bike.

I have 2023 Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse, my only constant issue is the heat coming up from the exhaust. Any suggestions???

Strongly considering the Springfield dark horse and the Challenger dark horse
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog Год назад
Those are great choices. To be real the Challenger would be my choice between those two, but I am a huge fan of the original Springfield with it's 50s looks and all and rounded everything.
@bhouse92101
@bhouse92101 9 месяцев назад
They are virtually the same bike. One has a fairing the other doesn't. The Springfield has mini apes and the Challenger has more "standard" bars. Have you been able to test ride either one? Indian does Demo Rides at dealers all the time. Both of those models are available for you to test ride.

@@bhouse92101 I haven't ridden them yet. It's more of a "I want" at this point. That and I wouldn't be able to explain how my current bike needed a friend so I brought one home for it lol. Maybe in a couple years it'll be a retirement gift to myself.

Gidday Mate. Is that seat available through Indian as a optional extra? It looks bloody awesome mate. I'm making plans in my head for my Indian when I eventually get one. I currently have a 2012 Triumph Bonneville T100 and as much as I love that bike the Indian has stolen my heart. The Cheif Dark Horse, the Bobber Cheif Dark Horse. I love the Super Cheif too but I have my heart set on the other 2 depending on where I think I like my foot controls.

This seat is through Indian, there are two docks for it so be careful when getting it. The one is part 2889113 is the kit and close off for the Chief and the other seat itself is 2884949-VBC

They almost have it. The ugly fenders,digital speedo,and the boring paint and no real tail light don't impress me at all. The rest of it looks good. The tins and speedo are garbage, I want to see a custom from a real bike builder .has some good bones

I am really struggling on which to get the scout or the chief 🤦🏾‍♂️ I really like how the scout looks more but the comforts of cruise control ride mode and that screen !!! 😩

Nice custom Dark Horse. I have the same model and same color but i chose the reduced reach handlebar and extended reach syndicate seat that works almost perfect. How tall are you?

Pretty sure Rabid Hedgehog is 6'2" with 32" inseam and about 210 pounds. He diets sometimes, so the weight varies between videos. LOL

I blame my strange body dimensions on this one. But I have made it into something that works well for me now. I've re-rode the stock versions and I honestly believe it is the PTSD of the Night Rod's clamshell position that makes it weird.
