Thanks for the great head to head comparison! I settled on a Scout 60 Red, abs. Love it! Just couldn’t see the difference in performance for me. The 60 is still damn fast! With 2nd gear able to easily hit 60 mph I think the 0-60 on the Scout 60 is 4.2 vs 3.9 for the 1130. 4.2 is well fast enough. And as you say, on the freeway it rolls. It will punch right up to 90 in very short order. Never need to go that fast. Not sure what top end is but well over a hundred. ( I’ll never try to find out. I put on bags, engine bars and a windshield. Other wise stock. Don’t see getting another bike for a long time.

I recently purchased a 2019 leftover Chief. And while at the dealership, I spent a lot of time looking at the Scout. The manufacturer did an incredible job. I created a term: crazychrome. because my Chief has so much chrome, it's crazy. Scout too. And its great chrome. Personally, I fell in love with the 100th Anniversary Scout, but I'd have trouble justifying all the extra dough from a plain Scout. Tremendous bike.

Looking at a 2017 Sixty w/abs. It only has 2k miles. I went to the dealer and sat on one today to see how I fit and it fit me pretty well. I'm 6'2" and I'm a big boy. This review helped me a lot. This is the best most complete ride along that I've seen.. I think the 5 speed gearbox is more appealing to me for some reason and is probably the reason it feels more fun to ride. 1,000ccs is a decent amount of motor unless you're touring. I'm in SW Florida and I'm getting the itch to ride. Thanks for a great video... 😎👍

Most really. Except Bolts... And most Harleys these days. But my garage literally has 4 different makes. Indian, Honda, Moto Guzzi, and an unnamed as it has yet to be revealed and I am going to make a video on it when I can get a crew. Indian of OKC is just legit cool and allows me to ride everything they get so it does skew that way toward Indian, but I've done many of their used inventory as well. I plan on getting on the Shiver they have listed and such when they return to normal operations after the holidays.

The biggest difference between the 60 and scout, the 60 sputters out at 5k-5.5k rpms. The Scout will pull up to redline which is 8600rpm if I remember correctly. The gear ratios between the two are exactly the same, they just removed the 5th gear that is in the regular scout. So on the 60 you're basically going from 4th to 6th. From experience you don't need that 5th gear,

Hmmm on my 2019 scout sixty, I don't feel bogged until I'm under 2100. Granted with my Roland Sands slips ons, it's screaming if you're revving above 3k, so I have to live in the lower revs for city cruising or night riding.

Good review bud ! I'm probally going to get the scout 60...same size as the scout just less cc's. It is still a leater bike but with 75 h.p...for me i don't want more. Now re 5 speed,It really is missing 5th..so it goes 1,2,3,4,6...all you do is take the reaves higher in 4th because it's a bigger jump to 6th because they elimanated the 5 gear... No problem,..less shifting You want to pass, drop one and zoom

@kendil22
@kendil22 3 года назад
Puts you way out of the power band on the scout. The redline is 8300rpm, 3500rpm on the scout is not straining the engine in any way. You can't think of it the way as older engines.

So many people in so many reviews comment on the same two issues with the Bobber, seat and suspension. Why don’t Indian listen and rectify this? If I’m going to spend £12 ,000to £13,000, I don’t want to spend another 10% rectifying the base problems. May as well have a blacked out Scout Sixty, add exhausts and bob the rear myself.
@raybrensike42
@raybrensike42 9 месяцев назад
The reason I don't want to be riding anywhere near the peak power while going down the highway is because there is no need to be doing that. Why rev out the motor like that when there is no reason for it? If you need to pass, there is a gear selector lever near your left foot.

@@RabidHedgehog can't wait to try all of them. I am in the process of getting my license, here in NZ, you have to ride on your learner licence for period of time and only certain motorcycles are permitted for riding on learner's. So I get inspired by watching you ride all these test videos.
@RabidHedgehog
@RabidHedgehog 5 лет назад
Glad to inspire a new rider! Here in the US it is a bit different. In some states at the age of 14, such as Oklahoma where I am from, you can get a motorcycle license and ride up to a 300CC. You are only permitted to ride at certain times of the day or if you use it to go to school, work, place of worship, you may use after those hours, but only on the way home. At the age of 16 if you test with the MSF course you get a M endorsement on your DL and are allowed all sizes. If you are an adult you simply take the MSF and are allowed all sizes as well, or if you test at our local driving centers same, you can do all sizes. Keep at it though. Small displacement bikes are so fun. The reason? Well simple, it is more fun to take a slower bike to its limits than it is to ride a larger faster bike far from them.

I have actually had the unfortunate pleasure of needing to do that and it was an Ultra Classic. The way to do it is the butt to the seat and arms on the fender and bars and to rock it, basically getting the bike to build momentum back to its wheels. But rocking it is the key so you are not dead lifting.

You should never compare a real Harley to something like a 60 or a Rebel or a Bolt. Um? Sportster 883/1200 48 HP and 53.4 ft-lb TQ For 883 with weight of 564 starting price 8999.00 1200 67 HP and 73 Ft-Lb TQ price 9999.00 while Scout Sixty 9499.00 with 999CC engine with a 5 speed 78HP with 65 Ft-Lb putting it on par and a weight of 542 running. Bike is not fake and built in the US and will disrespect any Sportster on the street or on a Strip with its speed and handling... So it's fair. Owned plenty of Harley motorcycles, three of the 6 were Sportsters, I'll go with this any day.

@@RabidHedgehog because to a HD fanatic, the Scout does not outperform in the most important factors: noise and vibration. For some, those are what makes a bike "good".

Indian scout is just overall a better bike than the sportster. Doesnt mean those are awful bikes, ride what you like. But to say that comparing them disrespects harley? Psh please! The scout out performs harley in every way and is American made. Just the other day was riding and was told by harley riders that the sportster is a girls bike and a waste of money. So calling the indian scout a girls bike is kind of funny when harley guys call their sportsters girls bikes.

Also I like some harleys, Im not a harley hater... but I wouldnt say Harley is all American these days... they have plenty of manufacturing in China. I just dont get why you guys say that complimenting a different bike and comparing two is "disrespecting"
