I miss the days when 120mph would excite me like that... truly enjoyed watching this. I ride a 2022 Hayabusa now. 10 years no crashes. amen. Ride safe.
This is dope. New here. Definitely Kawasaki for life. I was riding with my dad the last 4 years or so until he passed in March last year (RONA). To make matters worse my Kawa 6zx got stolen last year as well BUT I just got another one and man; you ain’t lying it’s beastly. I have to say I don’t think my riding experience would have been what it is without him. We even got my mom into riding and was teaching her on her Harley so I got a chance to ride with them both. I love that you’re cherishing this and hey, I wish I kept my Kawa 650 to grunt around it’s still a great bike in my book to have. But man, y’all enjoy this Time and most of all ride your ride! Dress for the Slide! Love from DC! 💪🏽
I taught 2 of my sons how to ride, and do so with them whenever possible. Someone almost always comments to us on how good that is to see. My first bike was a 600, then a 750, now a ZX-14. Others may say differently, but I say stick with the break in process that's in the manual, and take it in for that first service when scheduled. After that, have fun!
Congrats on the bike man its beautiful. I got my first motorcycle back in june after taking my msf course. I got a 2015 636 30th anniversary addition, one hell of a starter bike having no previous motorcycle experience... Enjoying every second of it and have already put over 5k miles on it. Don't forget that you still have 4k rpms to go every pull you did in this video and she pulls hard after 10k for sure, enjoy.
Cool want to fully enjoy it takung a riding slash racing school, will learn in a day from pro things that would take yrs to figure out and some tricks you would never figure out. I did that yrs ago best money i ever spent. Got faster without touching stock bike. You want to go fast and leave your buddies. Skill biggest mod you will ever make and get huge speed returns. Knowing how to ride will make you faster than 100 more hp
I have a 2022 and LOVE IT. I really like the red and black color scheme but wanted traction control which they only have on the krt (for some stupid reason). Great bike man, enjoy! So cool to see you and your dad are tight like that. Be safe, much love from eastern PA 🤘
@@ballerblitz247 ah yeah, abs that's what I meant. Misspoke. I think it's a pretty important safety feature idk why they didn't put it on all the zx6rs. My wife's ninja 400 has it and that bike was almost half the price
@@vaporcaper9601 isn't the fire blade a 1000 RR? This is a 636, basically a mid level bike. Can't compare the two. But yes, that's on level with a Hayabusa type insanity.
Really nice to see this bike getting good reviews out there by people who've just got it, Mine is coming in 2 weeks time and I could not be happier. Oh and also I was advised to throw on a Performance Damper by a friend whos been riding for almost a decade now, for better handling just saying. Ride Safe :)
I bought ninja 400 last year as my first bike but this is definitely going to be my next bike after I get more experience. Thats nice looking bike man 🔥🔥💪🏼
You ain’t seen stupid fast till you get up above 8000 rpm, that’s when it really wakes up. Quit short shifting and ring it out all the way to 16k. I’m 67, my son 28 and we both had ZX6R’s. He found out the old man rides hard and knows how to make her fly. In a drag he’s never beaten me. But then I’ve been riding for 55 years always on some kind of performance bike.
I couldn't afford to buy a CBR back in the '90's, so my buddies and I would go from dealer to dealer in Albuquerque and test ride every one that was available. I'll never forget the powerful buzz going through the handlebar as I'd ride off the lot - those were some of the best motorcycles ever made. Good times
Picked mine up today, traded in my 400 and this thing is an absolute beast, the quick shifter is the biggest blessing ever lmao. Combine with the exhaust sound it sounds so nice and has power.
I got my 2022 zx6r a couple months back as my first bike..I remember going full throttle on full power mode after breaking everything in and was surpised how fast it picked up esp after 8k rpm it never gets old
@@tiger2q lmaoo iv been ripping it on the twisties and everything man its a great bike. Stay within the limits of what your comfortable with and respect the throttle and you'll be okay
@@kanekumar94 yea that’s what I keep hearing and to each their own. I’m gonna take a riding season learning on a 450ss then trade up in a year for a 600cc
@@tiger2q yeah bro I mean I rode my brother ninja 250 a few times around the neighborhood and it wasn't to bad. Just gave good throttle control and know the power band and you'll be okay but if you never road before then I would say learning how to turn and corner etc etc is way more forgiving on a smaller bike
Hell yes dude. I'm glad you like it. Looks fucking badass lol stoked to see more content. It'd be cool to see a video on that cbr650r and how you think it compares to the 400. Either way ride safe and keep posting!
Have you ridden other peoples bikes or did you just take the plunge? Going off recommendations I was thinking a ninja 400 for my first bike. Do you think the ZX-6R is a good first bike for most new riders looking to ride sport bikes?
@@soulextinguisher I would say getting a 400 or ZX6R really depends on you. A lot of people told me to start on a 250-400 bike… thought about it and ended up getting a Yamaha R6 as my first bike, many people thought it was a bad idea because of crashing due to lack of experience , but it hasn’t happened yet and i been riding around 5 years now & I am a “speed demon” on the highways, which is why I ended up getting the R6. I will say, it really is up to you… you know yourself better than anyone. Evaluate your balance, your awareness, your reaction time, your coordination… If you think you can handle something bigger than a 400, there’s no reason you shouldn’t just go for it. I guess it’s worth a mention, the fact that i grew up doing extreme sports and contact sports, so that definitely helped learning how to ride.
Beautiful video bro...i myself got 2023 kawasaki ninja 400 last year. Havent ridden in over 30 yrs, my brother got 2006 600 he tried get me buy 636 at the dealership where i boughtmy 400, but it all came back to me in two weeks, now looking at 636 kawasaki. ...again thanks for the video bro
I didn't do a slow break in on mine. I ran it hard and put synthetic royal purple rpx in after 200 miles. Seemed to work out fine and they couldn't prove how you did or didn't break it in anyways. Love the zx6r though, worth every dollar
Dads r ur number 1 hype man and ur biggest fan.. lol you keep telling ur pops to check out ur bike.. he prob like ya it looks good it’s on my credit…lmao
59 and traded in my Vulcan S, great bike but suspension wasn't good enough for my beat up bones. Got a Triumph 660 tiger sport and love it. Love your new ZX6R but it would be to much power for me. Ride safe.
My son upgraded from the Ninja 400 to the ZX-6R after he got a taste of my tuned VFR800 Interceptor. He and I ride all the time and while the 6R is quite fast, he still can't keep up with me lol. We decided to keep the Ninja 400 because I love to ride that bike because it flicks so easy compared to my bike.
I get to ride with my son and love it. I am curious as to why you chose the 636 over The OG 750? The best street bike/ race bike ever built was is The GSX-R 750 Zuk Nation! Stay safe out there fella’z!
Mines non abs but I have the same one waiting on full m4 exhaust then I have some other parts I’ll install myself and then flash it bc it doesn’t get 100% power from factory but I know where to mail my ecm to flash it plus you can get them to give you some pop from your exhaust with their tune
I totaled my bike out two weeks ago in a in turn after hitting gravel and was lookin at this bike and it’s a grand a month for me and was wondering if it’s the same for u or is it just cause of my age
hey man CONGRATS on your 636! its official the bald-eagle WAS looking at the bikes circling you guys😁(remember they are known for their vision,so he had to see/hear the bikes) you did all the right things, and esp the freakin 'break-in-phase" always a pain in the ass,but well said and agreed when you spend this level of cash, treat it right and only thank goodness, a 1-time-phase...i've been watching the kawi-green-636 but after seeing this it's not an easy choice for "ME".on the other hand i feel there's still hope for your dad left because i dont think from watching your review that he wanted to get back on the Honda and keep riding yours, but he can always in his case, trade TWO bikes-in for a green 636 since the cruiser is green;in the grand scheme of things and in the end tho, i did wonder if he felt bad again that he bought the Honda too, esp after riding your ninja, which means that he was sorry he bought two bikes...but like i said,a plan would be trade them BOTH in for another 636👍loved the review*
@@Doom-Head well thats the hard part for me as well, since red/black are my fav colors too,but the KRT screams Ninja and i love the scheme on it,same w the black-n-red so its a toss up for sure!
@@Doom-Head I changed the exhaust to an arrow slip on and removed the baffles!!! Sounds fkin sweeet. But here in Scotland riding season is almost over 😭 🌧🌨⛄️ Garaged till April
When learning wheelies try doing a clutch up in 2nd and just pull the clutch in real fast to get used to the lurch feeling of the bike and slowly hold it longer and longer until you get comfortable pulling the bike up
@@Doom-Head dump it. So basically my throttle hand stays at about the same throttle and then I pull in clutch just far enough to stop the power going to the wheel hold it for a second and drop it
@@Doom-Head so depends on bike iv unfortunately never gotten the chance to try a 636 yet I'm on a speed triple 1200 with lots of torque... I'd imagine anywhere between there should be good. I do second gear around 35 45 and first fear 25-35. Just play with it. At first just bring the clutch in real fast and drop it. Get used to wheel coming up
How are you Shifting with out pulling in the clutch? Is it an automatic mode? Or you just click up without pulling the clutch in? Sorry if that’s a dumb question but I’m new to bike life. Cheers 🍻 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I was thinking about getting the Kawasaki Ninja 650 but see the thing is its got that All digital opto speedometer which the clearly the Kawasaki ZX-6R doesn't have. But its in the 136 mph speed range i was looking to go at least 160 mph, thats why I'm thinking on getting the kawaii ZX-6R. 🙏🏽
@@Doom-Head oh yeah I currently own a dongfang rts 250cc motorcycle 🏍 goes 75mph its cool and all but it sucks because the Chinese make shiy motorcycles. Its already falling apart, kick stand broke up with a 2 foot long frame pipe bad welding job. 🤦🏾♂️Japanese people make awesome things anyways. 🙏🏽
I have the same bike with the same brake fluid sock 😀 I had to take the “notice” sticker off my fuel tank, I was scared to death when removing it, thought I was going to scratch the paint with my fingernail.
So I got the 22 version on April first day I took off on it I had the traction control on 3 and I pulled the clutch in while riding like you did around the 14 minute mark n the bike turned off. When it’s on traction control 1 it won’t do it
The ZX6R is such a great choice for the 600 super sports. Personally I am into naked bikes, and started on the Z650, which was great but that kawi engine lacks character. Now I'm riding the new 22 Mt-09 and I don't think I'll ever go back. ;)
No need for clutch UPS first and second gear power wheelies easily I have a 2003 blue with silver graphics I purchased it from the original owner that was elderly man about 8 months ago with 17,000 miles on the odometer and looks and runs like it just rode off the showroom floor I love the zx6r bikes
@@Doom-Head it makes a little difference. At the end of the day, it’s only a 600 so top end power and speed is not what this bike is about. Agility and handling, is. It’s a scalpel, not a sledgehammer. Haha
@@SquireSCA so I was just curious, I understand what you mean at the top end power on the 600….I feel it really starts to struggle past 150mph with vibration and just does not feel as steady, would say something like an R1 feel much more relaxed at higher speeds?
@@Doom-Head High speed needs two things. Aerodynamics, and sheer power. A 600 has aero, but doesn't have the power. The faster you go, the more the air pushes back. It's not linear, its exponential. That's why the Bugatti Veyron SS had to add over 200hp, just to go another 7mph top speed over the base model. The R1 is way faster top end, but honestly, what will you use it for? Doing those speeds on the road regularly, will see you in jail or the morgue. If its for track days, consider what tracks you will be going to. If tight and twisty, the 600 is just as fast. If its a large track like my home track(Road Atlanta), the literbike will leave the 600 behind on every straight. I had my ZX14R out on track and it was slower in the turns, but I made up for it on the straights, so overall I was turning decent lap times... If your bike is new, stick with it for awhile, do some track days and learn to ride. Don't worry about top speed, its largely irrelevant. Remember, straightaways are for fast bikes. Turns, are for fast RIDERS. Anyone can buy a fast bike and twist the throttle on the highway. Give me 15 minutes and I can train a monkey to do that much. Going fast up on a twisty mountain road? That takes actual skill, and you can't buy that... 90% of the guys that talk smack about top speed, end up being the slowest guys at a track day or on a twisty road... lol
@@SquireSCA this is awesome haha 🤘😁🤘thanks for explaining that, and the reason for that question is I have been watching Crash Test Goat and I’m kind of in disbelief of this man’s abilities 😂😂😂
Unfortunately,Kawasaki discontinued the zx6r in India as it didn’t comply with the new bs6 emission norms of India.Does anybody have any news regarding relaunch of zx6r in India? Dying to get one.My dream bike. By d way, superb to watch father & son riding together….
Im not for sure it has a 32” seat height, I’m 6’1 and can flat foot it pretty easy. You might give it a shot you might just be on the toes of Your boot which would be fine ✌️😎
