The 2023 Kawasaki ZX-4R and ZX-4RR have arrived! This is the first introductory video that I'll make of them, but I want to know what you want to see! The more you fill the comments section, the more I'll be able to come back and make more videos! I have to admit, I had high expectations for these bikes, and they've turned out better than I expected! Looking to see them for yourself? Connect with the amazing team at Jim Gilbert's PowerSports (Canada's Number 1 Volume Kawasaki Dealer!) here: powersports.wheelsanddeals.ca...

This guy absolutely gets it. He doesn’t just try to sell you a bike, he actually knows the bikes, and knows what people actually need to hear. Very solid. He’s honest enough to say that superports are incredible, but above his skill level, and so not particularly well suited to his street riding preferences. I know a lot of riders that could learn from that. The ZX-4RR is going to be an absolute banger for a street supersport. People say you have to get the fastest thing, but what about people who restore classic cars and bikes? Are those still not badass? I’d say most of us agree that they are, just for reasons other than being fast. Just because technology has progressed, or it’s not a supercar/bike doesn’t mean it can’t still be the best thing ever. Don’t let anyone tell you that you “need” a liter bike or something. You just might enjoy something like this more.
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
I appreciate your kind words! And yes, I agree. People get caught up buying bikes that are too fast for them because they think that fast equals fun. Fast CAN be fun, but a bike like this is fun at any speed, and if you're searching out fun, and want to have a bike that you can just become a better and better rider, this bike is a great option!

It's truly incredible how uninformative all the Asia-market videos are. It's almost like every buyer was sworn to secrecy.

My wife is from the Philippines, the problem with a lot of Filipino reviews is they are not only very in depth (most seem to have no idea about key features or other useful information), they speak mixed English, Tagalog, and native dialect. This makes it impossible for most to follow everything they say 100%, even if you know Tagalog and English, you may not understand the native dialect, which is in her case Bisayan.
@gchyll2

The problem with Pinoy content is generally shill concept. Conflict of Interest is rampant. This applies to most products, even as simple as food recommendations.
@Next2Null

Back when the bike first came out in Asian markets all I could find were videos like "ZX4RR TOPS SPEED (in 3rd gear)" or something else that isn't the actual top speed.
@Fee.1
@Fee.1 10 месяцев назад
@@ricsim78there was significant info to glean from those videos, but you have to understand they weren’t true reviews, they were no different than the English markets where companies give bikes to big names to check out. Also…they had the 250 already so they were interested in some pretty specific differentiators over and above everything else

Someone on the forums who's a tuner has an ECU and the general thought is that yes, it revs up to 16k (15.2k or so), but it starts cutting the throttle past 11.5k rpms. Without a dyno graph, this seems to point to them limiting the power to achieving max at 11.5k (exactly like they said it would be). However, this is still just a flash away from saying "no, let's keep the throttle open further past 11.5k".
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
Yeah... That's definitely a possibility. At the end of the day, it's possible this will need an ecu tune to unlock it's full potential. The reality is, if it's limited for regulations... The manufacturer likely won't be able to advertise, or potentially even offer, a solution. That being said, a solution will be out there.
@JCintheBCC
@JCintheBCC Год назад
@@PeterLoweOne The rumor mill around the track crew here is that according to a US-Spec, it revs to 16-ish, dyno's at 71 hp to the wheel. The crew dyno'ing it expects that with a full exhaust and ecu flash, they will see 80+ hp at the wheel.

@TotoHurteau
@TotoHurteau Год назад
yeah stock, power start to go down instead of keeping climbing after 11,500 but as you said with a simple ecu flash you can easily unlock full power. I've seen videos that went from 53 to 70 whp from ecu flash

Was tough choice but ultimately feel in love with the black, the color is way better in person and didn't feel I needed adjustable shocks or quick shifter. I'd be lying if I said I didn't waffle back and forth though lol. The dealer I was at had all 3 to choose from; green RR, black RR, black R. When I learned I can add a quick shifter later if I wanted, I settled on the Black R. Don't regret it at all, can't go wrong with any of these ZX4s.

You’re putting out some great, unique content, and the deep dives are appreciated. I have only ever owned Kawasaki, and you seem to be a fan as well. Thanks for the honest videos! So a quick question; size wise, how much larger is the Ninja 650 ( I’ve owned many;) than this new ZX-4R? Is the seating positions at all similar? Thanks again for all you do, even for those of us “ down under” in the states🤓😉👍!
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
Thanks so much for your kind words, I appreciate the support. So the seating position is... different than the Ninja 650. The Ninja 650 would be more upright, and your hands are more curled in on the ZX-4RR. You also lean more forward. To some the ZX-4RR would be more uncomfortable, but to me it's just different. Probably a little more uncomfortable, but for me, I think I'd be happy to ride this on longer rides without an issue. It's not nearly as comfortable as my Z900RS SE, but of course, that bike is one of the more comfortable bikes in the Kawasaki lineup. If these stick around long enough, I'll try to do a comparison between a few different bikes.

My first bike was a 1991 GSF250 Bandit (lovely rev-happy 4cyl), I've had much bigger bikes but there's such joy in having a small capacity high-revving sportsbike that you can really get the best out of in the real world. I'm just happy that these exist now. I think the other manufacturers will be paying attention, but bluntly, they'll have to make a pretty great bike to compete. Kawasaki has set the bar sky high with this bike. It's better than I thought it would be!
@vali69
@vali69 Год назад
Yeah it would be cool to see a cbr400rr and an r4. But I don't see if it might happen since out of the 4 Japanese manufacturers just kawasaki has been really keeping up with their superspots line, they're even updating the zx6r to follow euro 5 emissions! And what did the others do? Well yamaha just faired up their mt7 and called it an r7, completely ruining the name that was associated with the cool 750cc inline 4s of the 90s and completely gave up on the r6, and honda hasn't updated their 600 in 10 years. And suzuki has just given up entirely on supersports and racing. I just hope these bikes sell well, I don't want to see the middle weight supersports class go extinct.

Watching everything I can and so couple of questions here.... 1) I did not see anyone above 6' on it yet, but because I am like 6'4" and Ninja for me was great for about 2 hours (just not so wide and it felt like CBR 125 on steroids :-)) so I suppose no problem here as it is wider and slightly taller. Surprise was YZF-R3 which feels really bigger compared to regular Ninja 400 2) Does RR version have USB socket included in price? It should as SE have it, right? 3) What is the useful weight you can put on the bike? Is it around 180kg or such? 4) What are the service intervals? 5) What is the procedure for first 1000 (or 1500km?)? Is it limited on revs (to which level) or you are supposed to use only rain mode (or road)?
