Did you get lsl Riser conversion kit I heard they have them for that bike and they're supposed to be pretty good brings the bike in a better position more healthier. People that have the bars on the forums all love them.
55 and just rode my new 2023 ZX-10R home on 1/3/2024 through some snow flurries. First crotch rocket. Have had two S1000XRs and currently have a fully modded 2023 S1000XR that I am keeping. The ride is completely different and was not uncomfortable for me. Was a bit tough getting the leg all the way up there with 4 layers of clothing but everything else was good. Some mild twisties at the end of the trip home just felt soooo good. Happy boy.
I had a sports bike in the 80's and I just bought a ZX4RR now that I just turned 70. I am loving it. It gives me the feeling of going fast without going too fast. I can use a lot of the power on my country roads.
Enjoyed the video immensely! I’m almost 60 and am currently riding a Ninja 1000SX. Had been almost embarrassed to admit this grandfather still enjoys riding the crotch-rockets,so was happy to find other like minded enthusiasts! Subscribed!!
I'm adding my name to the list of people that are so happy to hear you bought this at your age. I'm 52 and had all different bikes the past 3 years. Didn't ride for 20 years before this mid life crisis. Lol. Just went out a few weeks ago and bought a new leftover 2022 Triumph Street Triple 765 RS. That is the closest thing I can make myself get to a cruising bike. Screw it we gotta enjoy life. Congrats 👍🏽
I’m only about 28. my opinion is, ride what makes you happy while you still can. There might come a day where your back or your knees go bad which takes that option away. Get the most out of riding while you can, I say.
I’m 52 (32+ years riding) and still ride sport bikes too. Currently on a 2019 zx14r, k&n, delkevic 18” oval slip-ons and Moore mafia flashed ecu. Love it.
I am 64 and currently looking for a super sport myself. riding a HD Electra glide now. Love it for touring. I need a bike for fun as you've suggested. glad to see older guys rocking the Super Sports. Inspirational.
I'm 53 with two hip replacement and 4 sounder surgeries. I just got my 23 ZX-10R. Have what's owned ninjas. Since I'm older, I didn't install nitrous on this one. I've gone from Saratoga NY to Montreal and was comfortable.
Well, I'll be 58 in a couple days. I had a 2018 ZX10R and love it. Working on buying a '23 ZX10R right now, Comfortable??? No. The bike isn't made for comfort, it's designed for performance. Even in it's extremely choked down factory stock condition it's still a beast. It's all kinds of fun on the street and amazing on the track. I don't expect it to be comfortable, I expect it to perform, and it does. I will ride this bike as long as I am physically able to do so. Thanks for the video and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍 Randy
I'm 58 , still ride the ZX-10 R and do trackdays too...Congrats. on the new bike ...you made the right choice you are not too old, and that is a fine bike...it will be all you need...enjoy...!
Ha yall are very young. I turn 62 on Sept 1 23 and just bought a 2024 ZX10-RR pick it up Wednesday Aug 16. Bought a Busa last year so my collection is starting.
I’m 65. Got my 2023 ZX10R 8 months ago. Love it! Moore Mafia Tune, Two Brothers Exhaust. Such a rush to ride! Had a Couple of Indian Chieftains. Nice Bikes. But Boring. Enjoy!
This is one of the bikes I'm interested in. I'm interested in hearing your opinions on it as you break it in. I will be 60 in a few months, and after 42 years of riding, all I like are 1000cc Sportbikes. To me, they are the most fun to ride. I currently have a 21' GSXR1000R. I subscribed and I'm looking forward to more videos. Good luck with your 10R.
Hey Garvin, give me some of your likes and dislikes on your gixxer. I have an 18 S1000rr and a sport glide, and i am debating selling the S1Krr for another liter sport bike. I am between the gixxer and the zx10r. So just looking for some data points on both.
@@jasonisdn My Gixxer is stock. It launches strong off the bottom and has strong midrange pull. Up top it kind of flattens out. A flash would improve that top end. A ZX10R is softer in the bottom and stronger up top from my experience. I think the bike is comfortable, the brakes are good. Cruising between 50-75 in top gear for a period of time will numb my hands. It is good over bumps. It's fast. Does that help?
@@garvincollins8632 actually it does lol. I get tired of the numb hands and i have went real heavy on bar ends on the s1k. It's FBO and tuned but still those inline 4s love vibrating. Hell my HD will vibrate ya to death at 90mph also. Maybe I'm just getting picky in my old age.
@@jasonisdn I had a 2008 ZX10R. From what I remember it was smoother as far as vibration goes. I had a power commander and a full exhaust and the top end was really strong. The 10R might be what you are looking for. Good luck with your next bike choice.
Thanks for the video. 53 here and very heavily (likely) looking to get this same bike. Love and prefer sport bikes as well. Also a motocrosser. I’ve seen numerous people talk about this bike being surprisingly comfortable. After 25 years of no street riding (used to ride a 600 Hurricane and a GSXR 750…lots of dirt riding in those 25 years though) I got a GSX-S 750 a few years ago. Love that bike especially for the price but it was my first naked bike and omg the wind buffeting! I avoid the highway because it is so uncomfortable and disconcerting. While I want to keep that bike I’d really like to get another full fairing bike for the more comfortable riding and I’ve never had a 1,000.
Don’t feel bad I’m 47 and all I own is crotch rockets, 3 R1’s and I’m going to continue to ride till I can’t, I even got right hip surgery and I rode my R1 yesterday for the first time this summer, it felt uncomfortable but I was happy.
Brilliant idea doing this video. It's amazingly good timing as I'm toying with the idea of getting a new ZX10 here in the UK. I think you have alleviated my fears about comfort. I miss sports bikes, I'm like you, I've owned literally hundreds of bikes and I now realise that riding and owning a sports bike is a special experience. Cheers 👍
im the same age and have the same bike.. it hurts my neck, wrists, and knees..but I love it..high pegs are a nightmare as im 6'2". but im getting used to it just. the gearbox and engine are super smooth and all the power is in the last 2500 revs..it really gets going up there.i upgraded my screen to a Puig. and thats much better for wind. its my first and last spuerbike and its a very special thing. great vid.
I have a 2016 ZX10R KRT, what made it comfy for me, was Vortex Rearsets (I also wanted GP Shift) and I got Heli Bars Trackstars. Night and day difference, no loss of handling or performance after setting up the suspension.
Having a daily stretch routine should help a lot, assuming you don't already and don't have any previous injuries that may be exacerbated by stretching. Even sitting on steps will help - bringing your feet up to the step below your rear end - after repeatedly sitting like that for a few minutes at a time, your pegs start to feel like they're miles away.
I'm 40 and haven't rode a sports bike in about 15 years. I wanted something more comfortable. Tried a Harley for awhile but like you said i also thought it was boring. I now have a MT09 which is a lot of fun and very comfortable but now im itching for more power. Im also over the wind when going fast on a naked bike. Maybe i will give the zx10 a try after watching this video.
im already 34 and im not sure when i will own this bike lol. currently on a Triumph T120 for daily commute but i feel like i want a sportsbike for fun weekend rides.
i just turned 44 and am probably going to buy one. lol. i gre up with dirt bikes. friend had an r6 and an r1 when we were younger and i used to ride them. i got awesome roads around me to cruise on. i don't want to scream around on it, but i want to be able to have some fun when i feel like it. i honestly just always loved the sound and look of them.
I am 59 I have a GSXR Hayabusa I really can't ride it anymore position I'm way too much pain however I was thinking about getting rid of it getting either a ZX10 or ZX-14 and put LSL handlebar risers conversion kit on it but as far as the 1000 CC Superbikes you definitely made the right choice in my opinion Kawasaki ZX10 is most comfortable and best bike of all the 1000 and has cruise control and all the goodies if I were you I'd keep that bike and put LSL handlebar risers on it can't beat that bike then now you got a bulletproof bike with comfort all around dependability.
I can relate to what You say. I am 52 and have 8 bikes all sports bikes and just love riding them mainly yamaha R1”S and a couple Kawasaki zx9’s , I like the older bikes with no or minimum electronic aids , I have had those too. My friends think I am crazy and should be riding a Harley or adventure bike 😂 No way. In Australia We can ride all year round. Enjoy and stay safe.
I'm 53. Just bought my 2nd ninja. It's a 2023 ninja zx10-r as well. It's a little uncomfortable for me, but I think it's because of my 6'1 height & long legs. I've only got about 20 miles on the bike so far, that was from the trip home from the dealership. I'm more of a stickler about the break in period so I'm not getting up on it til I hit that 600 mile break in period.
I too love sport bikes and am 51. Just can’t ride the slow bikes either. I currently own a 2008 CBR1000RR and a 2016 Kawasaki ZX14R. I owned a 600F3, 900RR before my current bikes and also have an 1800 Goldwing that bores the hell out of me. I love the power and endless torque of the ZX14R though the electronics are still archaic compared to all the new bikes. The bike is so comfortable as well for a sport bike. My 1000RR vibrates the hell out of me compared to the 14 so not sure I would buy a new liter bike. I would probably buy a new Busa or another ZX14R.
You’re as bad as me. 52 and been riding 32 years. Had a rebel 250, gs500e, 2- katana600, 2- gsxr750, rf900r, Vulcan 900, gsxr1100 and currently ride a zx14r.
derekxbaker put low rise standard bars on his zx10.. muy comfy then. like the duc 950 or the 1000sx which is probably what u should of got. but then u cant find one in stock. these r everywhere.
Are you kidding? By 55 I'll probably be getting an Aprilia or a Ducati after the SV650 I just bought. Riding is awesome. Do it while you can and enjoy it.
Your age has nothing to do with anything. Just keep good maintenance going, and that thing will keep you happy. It's between that KAW and the Suzuki, the only really good choices. Yeah, for break-in, just don't lug the engine, vary your RPMs for about 200 miles. Dump the oil and filter at about 200 miles, refill with good oil and stock filter, you're ready to enjoy. By the way, I'm going on 67 years old and ride a sportbike.
Did you ever consider the GSX-S 1000GT ? thanks . I've been farting around with Adventure/ Dual sports with bad seats and weird wind turbulance, looking to get back . cool
It's better if you run it in for the long term mine was 1000 miles which i did in 3 to 4 weeks and then put 13.500 in a year no problems. Trip computer.
Did you keep the H2 or did you trade it in? (You mentioned you still had the FJR) Stay safe. Those zx10r's are crazy fast bikes (as we saw briefly in this video.)
@@MidLifeCrisisBiker13 Nice bike but isn't that creeping towards $30K? I used to have several different types of bikes too (sports touring, adventure, cruiser, 2 stroke street, etc.) so can somewhat understand your obsession. I'm 73 now, and my garage space is limited so just stick with one bike (cruiser) since I don't ride that much anymore (but I'm always looking at new bikes still....just not buying them.) I like Kawasaki's so personally I'd stick with the H2 unless you get a deal you can't refuse on the Ducati. Good luck.
If comforts your only issue with supersports, but still want one anyway. Then why not go for the one Supersport that has been said over and over again for over a decade now to be not just the most comfortable Supersport, but a comfortable bike in general. the bmw S1000RR. But of course, it must be said, it is a rather expensive bike.
I'm 6'2 and owned a 2021 S1000RR and it fits very well compared to the Japanese market, I've also ridden the 2023 ZX10 as my friend owns one. And it's more uncomfortable than the S1K but still a decent bike. If you're over 6ft I'd go for the S1K 👍
Cruisers aren't boring with the right passenger. I flashed my zx10 with cat delete and stock can. Bike has more power than I can use,and I'm getting too old for all that noise.
It's not STUPID to buy crotch rocket at your age. I'm 53 and ride a crotch rocket. If you find a comfortable one it's the smartest choice, screw the old people bike. The best performance, maneuverability and the best stopping power; the safest characteristics in a motorcycle. Stupidity with its power is the unsafe part.
The answer is no. At six foot and two hundred and sixty pounds, the answer is no. I bought the twenty twenty one when the new generation came out, and I returned it back to the dealership for something else in about five days. The answer is no
