The most comprehensive demonstration of all the features available on the new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift. Let me know if you’ve any comments. Thanks for watching!
This is the most comprehensive video out there on the entertainment system, thank you. Could you also make a dedicated video on HUD functions, ADAS and voice commands on Seltos 2.0. Thanks again.
Hi Srikanth, thanks for the feedback. I shot this during the media drive of the Seltos. I don’t have access to the car now. If I visit a showroom sometime, I’ll be sure to click this video.
Oh that's great and detailed video. I appreciate it 🙏🙏 and which is best of this gtx plus turbo dct or gtx plus Diesel AT for not daily driving in city n sometimes highway. Pls say.
Waiting on my 2024 seltos sx turbo and was wondering what the wattage is on the 8 speaker bose system for that model? Can't find the information on how many watts the sx turbo has.
Hi Trish, congrats on your Seltos! 🙂 Unfortunately the Indian brochure doesn’t specify the power/wattage of the speakers. It just says 8 speakers for the Bose system. Rest assured, the system is really amazing and will fulfil your requirements.
the top trims also come with this all black/dark themed interior, which seems very counter productive, all black has been started to be branded as a sporty look, but in reality it takes away fromm the roomy/up-market feel of the cabin that kia has nearly nailed, the HTX+ with the tan and black combo feels a lot more premium than the GTX + with the black treatment, the black roof liner is a welcome addition but having the tan interior trim (even as an option) would've made it feel that much premium, and yeah the omission of wireless AA/CP is a big bummer especially when knowing that the radio/modem being used for kia connect is more than capable of enabling both of these wireless features, very well put that these seem to be a huge variant mismatch! I still hope that kia/hyundai decides to enable wireless CP/AA with an OTA update someday in the future! (fingers crossed)
Wholeheartedly agree with your observations Diptangshu. Black interiors are usually reserved for the top-end/ sport variants (e.g. Octavia RS), but it makes the interiors cramped. Some folks will feel claustrophobic. White/ tan interiors get spoiled quickly OTOH. But the good thing is, Kia has given so many options for the customer to mix and match based on the variant they choose. I got confused with all the variants! 😵💫 The wireless AA/AC being offered in the lower trims is a bummer. Quite possibly a mixup by Kia.
@@GaneshBalan sadly seems like its not a mixup (wireless AA/CP) it seems to have been deliberately done so as to promote bluelink/kia connect, which makes no sense as having both of them working synchronously would have been such an amazing thing, and for the options that KIA is offering, sadly the interior choices are model locked, so if u want the tan interior, u have to go for the lowe trim (again a huge bummer) the same goes for the exterior, the X Line is locked with only one color option!, Why KIA why !!)
Hi Rahul, Kia most certainly won’t take this up as it requires a lot of work other than just sourcing the components. Integrating it with the dash, additional wiring harness and connections to the car’s BCM and other electronic modules (since ADAS and other features are enabled/disabled from the infotainment system), coding, etc. Technicians employed at the service centres will not be adept at doing what their colleagues at assembly lines do. We aren’t talking about a 2-DIN music system which has 2 ISO connectors or a quadlock connectors. This is a complex system.
All dual clutch transmissions in the market and new and the reliability over long term usage is yet to be proven. If you value reliability, stick to the CVT variant.
Hi, it’s not easy to swap the stock system on the HTX to the one on the HTX+. I did not notice a dedicated amplifier below the driver or co-driver seats so it is probably integrated with the system or located somewhere else behind the dashboard. You should have paid the additional amount and got the HTX+ instead.
Gannu, would you recommend this facelifted Seltos for someone who already owns Taigun GT. I fell in love with the features there were on offer as well the size of the car. I also found the handling of the car adequate. But I’m worried about the safety ratings and the build quality as such. Your thoughts on this are much appreciated.
Hi, no I won’t recommend the facelifted Seltos to a Taigun owner because the Taigun’s performance is superior to the Seltos esp. the 1.5 TSI. Where the Seltos makes up for creature comforts like the large sunroof, the infotainment system, etc., the Taigun does for performance. You will lose a lot of money if you sell the Taigun.
No problem! If you’re feeling the sudden need to change the car or something, spice up the Taigun. Here are some ideas: 1. Blacken the roof (don’t do it completely; do the Octavia/Superb type like 3/4th of the roof) 2. Add a dashcam (supercapacitor based in case you don’t have a dashcam as of now), add 3D mats 3. Change the rear wiper to an aerodynamic type (I’ve a video on my channel you can view; its a DIY job) 4. Add a wireless android auto/carplay device so it pairs with your smartphone automatically as you start driving the car 5. If you have halogen headlights, add LED bulbs
@@GaneshBalan Thank you for these suggestions. 2, 4, and 5 are done already😀. I’m considering doing the option 1 besides I’m also thinking of getting the electric seats retrofitted. And may be add good speaker components. Also the Tcross digital cockpit is available for a retrofit but not sure how trustworthy is that one.
Hi, you need to have bought the Kia Connect dongle from your dealership. This dongle connects to the OBD-2 port of your car. Once that’s done, you need to install the Kia Connect app on your phone. And then enter the details and you’re set.
Hi, I don’t have access to the Seltos. But connecting CarPlay to the Seltos X-Line and GTX models are very simple using the cable. Just plug the cable to the USB port and the other end to the phone. Unlock the phone using Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. You can change the setting that requires this in Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. Go to "Allow Access When Locked" and flip the switch for USB Accessories. This will enable CarPlay to be displayed in the infotainment unit.
HTX+, GTX+ and X Line models. Other variants get an 8” touch screen system with wireless android auto and Apple CarPlay. HTE variant doesn’t get any system.
Hi, 1. Try restarting the phone? 2. Trust you unlocked the phone after connecting it to the system. 3. Try a different cable? I’ve tried my iPhone 11 with a cheap 100 Rs lightning cable and it works. 4. What iPhone model is this?
@sourabh3189 1. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay. Your car should ideally show up in the list. If it does, select the car and select ‘Forget This Car’. Try reconnecting again. 2. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. Is it enabled? If yes, go to Allowed Apps > check if CarPlay is enabled. 3. Check your iPhone 13 Pro Max on another car with CarPlay to see if it works. With the same cable. And vice versa. Someone else’s iPhone on your Seltos. This way, you can rule out if it’s a device error.
Hi Rathod bhai, I don’t have access to the Seltos anymore but please check this link - www.team-bhp.com/forum/car-entertainment/268567-guide-install-view-youtube-android-auto-vehicles-no-root-modifications-pc-required.html It gives you a step-by-step procedure on how to install and play RU-vid on android auto without rooting the phone. I will still not advise installing RU-vid on the car’s infotainment unit as it is a safety hazard especially when it plays content when the car is in motion.
Hi Chethan, I haven’t got the chance to test the models with the 8” touchscreen unit so no clue really. Your best bet is to visit a dealership and check it out in person.
@@GaneshBalan Thanks for the reply.. I went showroom and yes all the features available in htx petrol manual and it's not 8" Same as the one which u showed in video
@@GaneshBalan yes, already booked. But have not confirmed showroom on which variant... I have told them will be buying HTX petrol variant... But confused..should I buy htx petrol MT or htx petrol ivt? I personally felt like the alloy wheel provide in ivt variants gives more look to the vehicle!! Do u have any suggestion regarding which on I should go for?
@chethankc8567 I trust you’ve test driven both the MT and IVT variants. If you’re spending close to 15 lakhs, please consider investing in an automatic or worse, at least an IVT so you don’t have to struggle in back to back traffic. Even if this means, you have to pay a bit more or choose a lower variant. In that sense, the IVT is better.
Haii I am unable to connect my phone with android auto wirelessly with usb it's getting connect my phone supports wireless android auto please help me with this & I am unable to set wiper on auto rain mode
@@GaneshBalan thankyou so much, but I am worried why this KIA did like this for base variant they have wireless and for top we should connect through cable, it's wired. what about our mobile situation if we connect thought the journey. unfortunately I purchased high end model.
@nikhilsn703 This seems to be a goof up from Kia. You’re right - the top-end models should have had wireless. But dude trust me, if you leave the phone in the wireless charging pad, it overheats the device. Induction charging is bad for the device in the long run. OTOH, charging through the cable is perfectly fine.
Hi Bhupainder, the ex-showroom prices of the various models are: 1.5L Petrol • HTE 6MT - Rs 10,89,900 • HTK 6MT - Rs 12,09,900 • HTK+ 6MT - Rs 13,49,900 • HTX 6MT - Rs 15,19,900 • HTX IVT - Rs 16,59,900 1.5L Turbo Petrol • HTK+ 6iMT - Rs 14,99,900 • HTX+ 6iMT - Rs 18,29,900 • HTX+ 7DCT - RS 19,19,900 • GTX+ 7DCT - Rs 19,79,900 • X-Line 7DCT - Rs 19,99,900 Clearly, only the HTE, HTK and HTK+ of the 1.5L NA petrol engine fits within your budget. The HTK+ would be the best bet considering it would be close to 15 lakhs on road. Please do take extended test drives of the car before committing to it. Good luck with the purchase! 🙂👍🏻
@@GaneshBalan yeah I downloaded the latest update transfer it to usb drive but when I plug in car it's pops up on screen saying not supported so is there a special type of usb drive that has to be plugged into my seltos
Just checked the website. 1. Kia recommends a USB drive with exFAT file system for the update. Format the usb drive in your PC using exFAT file system. 2. Download the latest Navigation Updater file from Kia’s website here - update.kia.com/US/EN/navigationUpdate 3. After the file is installed, open the Navigation Updater file from the desktop. 4. Enter the details - email, password, etc and sign up. 5. Select the relevant file using the vehicle and model. Select the storage location i.e. the pen drive. 6. Download the update file from the website and copy it to the USB drive. 7. Turn on the system in the car, either keep the engine running or off. Don’t start the engine in between the update as it momentarily turns the system off and on. 8. Plug the USB drive in the port. 7. Browse to Setup > General > SW Info/Update and select Update. All the details are available here - update.kia.com/US/EN/updateGuide
Hi Darshak, there’re no issues with the touch. This is one of the most responsive touch displays out there. Must have been an odd case where the touch wasn’t registered.
Hi, is your Oneplus device working on the systems of other cars with Android Auto? Check if you’ve to enable some permissions for the app. Also update it to the latest version.
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available only on the 8” system. The 10.25” system on the HTX+, GTX+ and X Line do not get wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.
What omg that's a total no brainer dude meaning shouldn't all the models get wireless apple car play and Android car play wow 😅that means if I want those features I'll have to buy the mid spec model then 😒😒😒😒😒😒
