Hey I want to chime in on something important: spark plug nipple torque! What I suggest is using a deep socket and a snap-on torque wrench on the threaded end and holding the nipple with a pair of vice grips and torque the nipple to 20 inch pounds. If you are anal put a rag between the vice grips and the nipple! I feel that spark plug nipple torque is the most overlooked item on a dirt bike. I myself have never actually done this before, but if you do be sure to check the gap before installing!

You totally missed an opportunity with the graphics to put the "Game Changer" on your bike. Not currently running it at the monment, but do have 2 sets of klim gear that are at least 10 years old. They have held up great. Both of those jerseys are vented. I did rip one in the mesquites, but still great. I bought some vented stuff. That was lighter and have been using a fleece spider long sleeve as a jersey and I will say for 15 bucks at costco I should have bought 2 more. They are not available locally, but can order them online. Cheap and functional. No flashy graphics and it wicks to keep you dry when you sweat. Works well in the cooler temps and will use the vented jersey again as it warms. That said... again Klim stuff is sweet. I enjoy the pockets on the pants. I would keep snacks, gel packs, or towel in a baggie for cleaning goggle and such. Easy access.

Love your channel! I've been watching since the beginning. Just got my 23 300 XC and I had a question, I'm coming from a carburetor to the TBI I was curious about startup and warm up before a ride?
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
I warm my tbi up like a carb. They are very rich on startup (like a choke) and since there is oil in the gas you are good to go.
@scottphillips445
@scottphillips445 Год назад
I googled schlog and it means whipped cream. Good luck getting the splooge issue solved. If you ride off the pipe at all splooge happens. Smokers are designed to Rev.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
Oh yeah. I don’t care about it at all. Just the people on the internet
@scottphillips445
@scottphillips445 Год назад
The problem with splooge is that it can drip on the brakes
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
@@scottphillips445 yeah. As long as it doesn’t get that bad it’s no big deal
@scottphillips445
@scottphillips445 Год назад
And the whipped cream reference is fitting for your channel because your 23 is in my opinion "the bike to have " I think that the 16 to 18 frame is the best motocross frame, the 19 to 22 is better for offroad, and I am guessing that the new frame is even sexier offroad. I like having 1 bike with stiff suspension for mx and 1 bike set up soft for offroad. I totally dig how light air forks make the front end feel but I agree that using a spring fork is better for action. On a 450 or a 300 springs are better but on a 125/150 air forks are the shit
@scottphillips445
@scottphillips445 Год назад
I totally appreciate your input on the new design to include your slavens skit! It's fast I don't like that! It's predictable I don't like that! A production bike is a platform a race bike is revalved and modified for 1 pilot.

First thing I did was put on the separate Nihlo switches on my '23. I may order a set of the Motominded for backup. I should receive my Crosslinked swing arm guards today. Now if these damn plastics would start shipping I'd be set. Is Acerbis or Polisport ever going to make plastics for these bikes ?

I suggest that you run 50/50 comp and clear your top end will last a lot longer. The ktm manual suggests 98 octane.
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
That recommendation is a euro rating from what I have heard. As long as it doesn’t ping I’m not worried
@racesla
@racesla Год назад
Manual states ROZ 95 which is a global rating, equivalent to our (USA) 91 octane rating.
@scottphillips445
@scottphillips445 Год назад
Oh yeah we are talking about XCs which are designed to run straight clear. The manual for a 15 TC250 is 98 octane. The difference between the older mx/ xc smokers is the head. KTM is hip to the trial rider approach

@@scottphillips445 XC runs same octane as SX. The 98 has always referred to overseas numbers, not USA. Run premium in anything, it'll be just fine. Race fuel is for people that ran their compression up, and those that like to burn money.

Hey man so I’ve been riding my 300sx a little (got about two hours in it) and just wondering if your xc is a little boggy? If I’m going low speed for a little bit and then try to open it up it sounds pretty boggy until it cleans out and then it rips again. I changed my plug to a br7es but wondering if you had that issue? I’m in western Wyoming at 6500ft so I just ordered a rk tek head too and maybe that’ll help? There’s no adjustments for fuel right?
@highlandcycles

No adjustment unfortunately. Mine will load up a little but I almost never notice it. I think the head will help a ton

@andrecontois8510 Год назад

@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
@@andrecontois8510 depends on which version. I know that some of them just replace the air spring with a single spring setup. Or maybe that’s the Dal Soggio. Not sure but I really like using WP stuff in WP forks. That’s why I chose the 6500 over KYB
@RC.56
@RC.56 Год назад
how do I get my stock AER suspension soft and plush going slow on a 23 350xcf? thanks
@highlandcycles
@highlandcycles Год назад
One big thing is to make sure you put a little oil into the air spring. Through the schrader valve. Just a couple CC’s. The other thing is to valve it appropriately. We have a good setting that is pretty plush. Not as plush as spring kit but close
