2023 Lexus LC500 Coupe Review 

This car will be such a classic one day!

Already an LC500 owner ('21 Convertible), have a '24 on order for the updates and the new blue color. ECO Mode mainly seems to soften throttle inputs for city driving, I've run it for extended periods of time on the highway comparing it to Comfort Mode and the MPG's were no different (both 32.6MPG on I-40 across Arizona). FYI, 9th and 10th gear are disabled in Sport / Sport S+ modes so make sure to put the car in any other mode for highway driving. I found Comfort to be the best for long highway drives, just as efficient but a nicer ride. For spirited driving I default to Sport rather than Sport S+, as this car is not equipped with a dedicated transmission cooler (the GS-F / RC-F are) and can overheat the transmission in very spirited driving (see the Matt Farah convertible review @ 13:55). Thank you for one of the best explanations of Climate Concierge that I've seen in an LC500 review, Lexus does a poor job of explaining how it works and so many reviewers complained about the trackpad that it has been replaced by a touchscreen for 2024. As an owner for the last 2 years, the number of times I've used the trackpad to adjust individual seat heating/cooling is exactly zero. Leaving everything on auto and adjusting the temperature just works. For anyone interested in buying an LC500 but wanting to drive one first, let me recommend the Lexus Performance Driving School. It's a long, fun day at multiple US tracks with a ton of seat time in the IS500, RC-F and LC500. I've done both COTA in Austin and Road Atlanta. The LC500 is a heavy car but handles its weight well in track driving. It won't set any lap records, but it's fast enough to be enjoyable and comfortable enough to get you home. Seconding your "you can also bring your sportscar with you" comment at 0:55, I did a rally in the spring of '22 from Denver to Las Vegas with part of our route going through Zion National Park. I was the only convertible in the group, and the look on everyone's faces when we dropped the top at the eastern end of Zion...it was like hearing Clarkson on a rock a hundred yards away yelling to everyone else "you've brought the wrong car".

Great review! Just test drove the 2024 LC500 with the new touch screen and 360 surround camera and it is now the best grand touring car on the market. That naturally aspirated V8 plus it’s gorgeous looks & Lexus reliability is what makes this car so exceptional! Crazy you see so few on the road today. This car has a soul that EVs just don’t have. You have to drive it to understand why it’s so special. Get it before this phenomenal engine is gone forever.

Very high quality review! Fun fact: you dont need to touch the interior light switches to activate, it works just having your fingers close to them.

Great review, substantiated most things I felt about the LC500. Loved the route you took up Hayden Rd in Scottsdale to get to the 101. You we’re close to my neighborhood.

Recently picked up an Accord coupe. Obviously these don't compare except in one way, both coupes. 1st coupe for me, absolutely love it just for that, and obviously for other reasons, but just for being a coup I'd recommend the LC.

What sort of designers and engineers would have kept the silly, consumer-hated, touchpad so many years after the LC 500 was introduced??????? A lot of LC 500 platform issues from the year 2018 onward should have been enhanced and improved, like: fold-down rear seats, moving the ride control horns from the steering column onto the steering wheel; more and better cabin ambient lighting (go see the Mercedes vehicles); optional four wheel drive; a hatch-back instead of a puny useless trunk; another cup holder (come on Lexus engineers!); optional massage seat and more positions for the seat; hard knob controls for the seat temperature and cabin temperature; finally allow customers to custom order their LC 500 instead of having do 'take it or leave it' proposition from what is delivered to the dealer by Lexus (Bespoke program is limited to what can be ordered).

Hi there, I have a ‘23 Convertible.There are no new superlatives to describe this car. No, it’s not a sports car, and was never meant to be one. It’s a GT. While it’s the most expensive car I ve ever had, it’s the first I can honestly say ‘I love. I go in the garage just to look at and wait for spring 🏖️

The Lexus LC500 videos are interesting but all are somewhat the same ! I am on the fence about the LC 500 since all the models up to the 2024 year have serious space/storage issues compared to the competition like the Mercedes AMG GT55/63 series- the AMG GT 55/63 seems to be a clear winner but at the cost of $40K more in price (hey you only live once)! I'll give the LC 500 another chance for the 2025 year, otherwise hello Mercedes AMG GT!
