You can program driving mode to the 4 way buttons on steering wheel..once you do it’s just one touch to toggle from sport, normal, eco, and custom..most people don’t know that there is customizable 8 buttons on your steering wheel 4 on left and four on right…hopefully this helps..^^
this was a very well done review compared to the some of the others out there. much more information given and quite rich summation of the driving experience. thanks!
Problem is the price, because now this is reaching EV price, which this car can't even hope to beat the performance other than a full tank driving range...
That looks stunning! Didn’t like the last rx, but this one looks damn good. The lower trim levels are much better priced and I think will be the better sellers.
Pricing, if you’re correct, will be the problem. They will still sell some, but only to the Lexus loyalists or those with long-term reliability high on their priority list. If they can keep pricing below $70k, I think it’s a winner.
You’ll love Final Cut Pro on a M1 or M2. Take a class with Apple to jump start yourself as needed. I learned it on my own but feel I’m leaving features unused on the table. Which color do you like best. I agree with the PHEV on this one but with double the horse power on the rear motor. At 80K the iX is tool close and so much better place to cruise.
The PHEV version that's coming out is said to be just as expensive as the BMW X5 45e, which would be a mistake for Lexus, as the BMW is a far better vehicle.
They just can't get their infotainment systems straight. You shouldn't have to take your eyes off the road and get into a screen menu to change the drive mode.
It's amusing that we just spew out Lincoln Mark IV curb weights - and then some - nowadays like nothing. Especially when it's a vehicle that can park on the hood of the Lincoln. I know people will cite Lexus reliability but if I wanted a little baby buggy I would more than likely get a GV70 Sport Prestige over this.
This won’t be 80k lexus has a great time pricing excellent products under their Competition and what you’re getting here is an extremely advanced product this offer is much more than some of the German competition we just get a turbo charged engine
Wow......$80,000????? That's way too expensive..... no wonder people are sticking to their old cars....even the gas turbo 4 cylinder engine is already nearly $50,000????? Too expensive...... that's $1000 a month just for the low trim.... $80,000 for the RX500h would be $1500 a month.... who can afford that???? RX is built for the medium income class and now the class is priced out...
@@waheedali2429 its $125k per year the new "broke dudes".... what about $350k per year still consider " broke".... if so then our USA is in a deep, deep, deep trouble....my mother still drives her 1995 Lexus LS400 because the new Lexus cars are just too expensive......and she's not broke....
4:25 MotoMan take a second look at the suspension. They altered the geometry of the shocks to naturally pick up the nose and dive purely by changing how they sit. I thought that was amazing. Im surprised you missed that nugget. Its your thing. ;)
Covered it in drive dynamics. Pointed out how squat is reduced in this model over the others. Spoke to one of the engineers and learned is not just the suspension that does it.
Agreed. I love Lexus but I’m not gonna pay $80 grand for one. I had to swallow hard to pay $58,300 for my 2022 RX. Anything over about $60 and I’m out 🤷♂️
@Michael Mikhail Sticker with options for mine was 72k, and that is basically every option available. Different wheels on mine but the same color as the one in the video. Some dealers are getting over list for them and luckily I didn't get hit with any markups. Even paying cash didn't get me any markup and other dealers wanted to hit me with a 1000-1800 dollar fee for not financing.
Possibly $80k and we can’t have real exhaust tips? Also - agree that it needs more interior trim/color options. A saddle brown interior with that Ultrasonic Blue 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
I don't fit Lexus's demographic for this vehicle. Bought mine last month and absolutely love it and went with the Copper Crest and different wheels. Every option but the Levnson sound system. List was just under 73k and that includes the transportation fee. Single 47, kid at home and work in infrastructure. When at the dealership looking at it and a GX460. Went to look at GX460 and somehow came home with the RX. Just wish they offered the blue for the RX500H F-sport in the US. It's available in Canada though and love it in that color.
It may not be my Grandma’s RX but it will sure be my cousin’s. Interior is still dated AF. Snubbing the nose of the hood is a minor improvement. Color is elevating it artificially.
Was waiting for your review to hit on this new F Sport Performance RX 500h. My wife owned the previous generation RX 350 and we liked it fine, but got tired of waiting for Lexus to finally bring out the new version, so she got an Audi Q5 Sportback. Now I don’t think she’ll go back to Lexus anytime soon. The suspension alone on the Audi is leaps and bounds better than in the F Sport Performance version even with adaptive dampers. I am curious what the pricing will be. As to the copper color…I’m not a fan. The white with everything blacked out along with the rioja red interior really looks sharp though.
Yes, the Audi definitely demonstrates better drive dynamics, however the reason most people do the Lexus and trade down on dynamic is long term reliability. Of all the people that I know who have had or currently have an Audi, zero are without sizable issues.
@@MotoManTV Not to worry MM. We paid cash for it and got every warranty available and I found a great and honest German mechanic that specializes in Audis’ when the warranty runs out. I do love Lexus reliability, build quality and the service experience at the Lexus dealerships is second to none.
@@MotoManTV My wife is the type who doesn't even want to test drive before buying. She leaves it to me and says her criteria is reliability. I said Lexus it is! We almost hit your solution with a 991 and a NX350
Unfortunately there will be no PHEV performance version in the future. But there will be a full EV version of this RX in 2-4 years if the markets in Europe and Asia are accommodating. Wheelbase is the exact same as BZ4X/RZ. As for pricing on the 500h fully loaded model, I think it will be around 75-77k. It has standard leather, not the semi-aniline leather. And the limited exterior/interior colors help to keep costs down.
Compared to the Midsize Premium SUV segment, Lexus owners are more often women, are older, and enjoy a lower median annual household income. J.D. Power data shows that 42% of Lexus RX owners are female (vs. 38% for the segment), that their median age is 65 (vs. 58 for the segment), and that their median annual household income is $155,303 (vs. $184,248 for the segment).
New RX'S are being pushed to males/females in their mid 40s to 50s. Most likely will see the demographic you listed going for ESs and an NX over the RX. But you seem to post Lexus hate on every video I have watched about them.
Adding a more desirable F sport Performance trim is a good idea for uplifting the RX model. That said performance wise to cost in the 500h would’ve made a great *baseline* vs aspirational. Like…a RAV4 hybrid takes this off the line…for whats in it I feel like there was definitely room to go further, but thats just a numbers thing.
Great review. It makes me wonder whether Toyota is building the driving dynamics of this car into its new top of the line Crown at a cheaper price point.
wow...at least Genesis uses a premium platform. $80k for a Camry platform based Crossover, and with so, so technology, it's a hard pill to swallow for me. But the suburbia Americans will probably buy them in high numbers
Smart people will take something work very will with solid experience especially you pay a lot of money When you pay something don't know about without history it's stupid move
@@waheedali2429 my family has owned Toyotas for 50 years. The same was said when my father bought a LS400 in late 1989. Our family understands Engineering and quality. People mocked my Dad for buying a Lexus over a Mercedes or BMW. He still has an open mind, and understands Engineering and quality, and why for the first time bought something not Toyota corporate made. He got a Genesis GV80. Your comment sounds pretty closed minded and echoes the comments of BMW and Mercedes buyers when Lexus came out.
If I was a rich grandparent I would shop Macan if I'm stepping up to 70-80k! Funny how that front end is now a trend for front wheel drive vehicles. You see it, exactly the same, with the Civic and and the GTI.
Reliability is an issue. I was considering the new gts but research has put me off it. I want a car to keep beyond its warranty. Macan is a risky proposition from my research.
Drove a Macan, GLE450 and an MDX. Went with the Lexus as way to many issues with the Macan and the GLE with similar options is 86k. Wasn't a huge fans of Acura before, liked it but the Lexus was the best for me.
Anyone willing to pay 80k for this rice burner…sorry, hybrid rice burner…should look to other options like the Genesis GV60, Kia/Hyundai options…or even the RAV4 Prime. Crazy money to spend on a Lexus with much better options available.
So you’ve been using a Mac for 13 years? And you switched to a M1 Mac? The mini? Yikes man how’s that working for you? They’re amazing daily drivers but I’d rather use a hackintosh or windows pc than a m1 for editing, at least until they have a pro model with a dedicated GPU. I suppose if you’re only doing light editing it’s no problem but if you ever start really churning out content you’ll need an upgrade
It's pretty well integrated. Can't get a Laptop that is faster with Final Cut Pro than a MacBook Pro and if you do the battery life is a quarter of the Macs.
Been on Mac all my life and carried that decision through when setting up post flow for this business. Was holding off on moving over until Apple righted some wrongs from older MacBook Pros - namely removing Magsafe and an SD Card slot. All was granted recently, as well as quite a bit of speed. The machine I use is the most murdered out MacBook Pro 16.2. Blazingly fast. 4-5 layer, 15+ minute timelines used to render in about an hour +, now, 4 minutes. Exports of the same in less than 5. Life altering. Downside, the move sunsets a number of software packages we use, so in my case, using two machines daily until I come up with a solution. In short, refuse to pay a monthly subscription for software I already own so the likes of Adobe and others can play a game with valuation.
@@MotoManTV you’ve always used a laptop for editing and whatnot then? If so then you’ll fare better than I initially thought, but it still has the downside of no dedicated GPU which is a major one when you need it, and you wouldn’t ever know until the moment you need it. But if you don’t currently then I can understand. I completely agree and know what you mean. I refuse to participate in this micro transaction/ DLC/ software as a service/subscriptions for everything world. I draw the line there out of spite. I won’t do it. Is it just Adobe products or what else did this move loose you support for? Rosetta 2 won’t even run these apps? This is the dark side of progress with apple, they forced developers to let them take a 30% cut off all sales and a 30% cut off all sales of things within the app as well, and banned the ability to direct customers to places outside of the app and App Store to buy said product or service. This caused developers to want to make a sale as often as possible, and this has broken the entire paradigm. Apple giveth only 30% of what apple taketh away. Anyway if you need any suggestions of alternatives or assistance including exploring a hackintosh (build a pc that runs Mac OS but runs high end intel or amd chips that destroys even the $20k Mac pro’s at a fraction of the cost
It’s angry because it’s still not terribly competitive A gv80 MDX aviator we’re already way better options before anyones even driven the RX. And that still holds true Dead on arrival. Typical Lexus. Always lowering the bar in the automotive industry
You lost me when it wasn’t powered by the awesome Lexus V8 with hybrid assist. Toyota does it better than anyone, but these Rube Goldberg powertrains rarely age well.
