Agree; M340i is great car out of the box and maybe with a few tweaks here and there, more fun. But ///M cars fall into a very different category over their series siblings
It just depends because a base m3 is good but a fully loaded 340i is just as good. Personally for me & I’d get a 340id 40mpg doing 50mph is perfect for my long travels compared to a m3 doing doing like 28-30 at 50mph on a highway. If I could afford to dump £90-100k on fully loaded m3 estate I would. £65k on a fully loaded m340D estate almost fully loaded for me works. Maybe in a few years I may upgrade to a m3 estate if I do less longer rides & travel 😅
Who approved these mods at the shop level? Someone with knowledge and know how should stopped the customer from requesting some of these engine mods and steered him in the right direction.
Everyone complaining about the hp, the dme is locked and he probably hasn’t gotten it unlocked. Hence there’s probably no tune on it and he has literally all the upgrades ready for a turbo. All he needs to do im is unlock a cad get a turbo and may a hpfp and he’s ready for 750-800 wheel
@@carcrazyguysa4059 I share your way of thinking as well…. It’s as if the owner is doing thing to ether make up for buyers remorse or simply just doesn’t like something about the M-car, like the grill or whatever. Idk 🤷
@carcrazyguysa4059 from my understanding its to keep the factory warranty cause JB4 is apparently the best in terms of going back stock if you need to take the car to a shop. I'm not completely sure though
@@carcrazyguysa4059 well it depends, im sure it probably does but with my warranty if my car has parts installed through a BMW certified shop it doesn't void the warranty. I was just informing you on why people go JB4 on new cars
Stock puts down like 355hp and 350tq this thing definitely got a nice boost over stock! Some people don’t understand the difference in whp and crank hp. Aaaand to compare more precisely should of gave us stock numbers on this dyno before all those mods. Btw a used M3 g80 is well above 70k.
Intake, catless downpipe ,e30 makes 520s with a good tune but the guy is probably gonna just turn up the boost these newer bmw has active fuel management already and if it’s still a 2 port car it’s gonna make decent power once he cracks that boost up to 30ish psi
Wish I could have an unlimited spend on mods after buying a brand new car😅 makes you wonder if these people have this much money why not just buy a full fat M3 with the S58 motor while you're at it!??????
@@Mizan215 maybe if you have an extra $30k lying around, but no way I’m spending that much on a M car and then spending more to swap out the suspension to make it more like the M340. If you’re okay with spending an extra $20-30k then you probably aren’t worried about warranty. You mod an M340i and make 600hp, blow the motor and replace it, and still spend less than a stock M3
@@deadlydonague2402 you can buy a used m3 for the same price as new m340i and dude dropped $20k on mods, you can get a KW set up for a fraction of the price. The M3 is still a full fat M car and m340i is an M badge car
@@Mizan215 you’re not gonna find a G80 M3 for less than an M340i, especially if you’re looking at used M340is. The M340i will make the same power as the M3 with very minimal mods, no need to void any warranties, no need for an actual M car unless you want to track the car and keep it stock, and stock is boring. If you want a track car get an E46 M3 and make it into a race car.
Wouldn’t void warranty since the ECU remains untouched. Everything is bolted on and can be removed. Maybe another 10-20HP with a real tune but eh. I didn’t like how the JB was like a switch vs how Linear A real tune is.
JB4 still = drivetrain warranty issues. The DME logs all parameters and they'll still know. Techs on the forums and FB groups post about it all the time.
@Kineticautoworks did you have to do anything specific to get the car to run properly on the dyno? Does it have to be in a specific mode? If so, can you share how you did it?
G20 330e stage 1 (B48B20B) gets 400hp 460lb/ft and it's a way cheaper car, more economical and cheap to tune. 😂 Don't need more than 400hp for the most part on the street.
But don’t get me wrong i love m340is especially those B58 engines have HUGE potential but just tired of ppl calling their mods “builds” when they literally didn’t even get to see those parts getting unboxed. 😂😂😂😂
My 2018 340i that only had two mods, a catted vrsf downpipe and stage 2 on 93 octane from mhd made the same power, where is the the fault with this car
i want to see the reasoning for your conservative approach, considering that car could essentially push 30-40 more with those same exact mods probably🤷🏽♂️not gonna exaggerate it but damn
