You didn’t get early start in the first drag race. You can check 3:54 - 3:55. Actually X4 moved before Grecale. But the second try Grecale actually started too late while X4 has already moved 30-40 inches.
@@Tireburner7 when did I ever say BMW is junk? The Giorgio platform is far more engaging and fun than the BMW. I could care less about making power, the way a car drives is way more important to me than bragging that I pulled on someone in a race.
Ah ya, lookit that proper booty dump on the Maserati, all the way through the race. Impressive. Surprising to see the god tier S58 meet its match in the Grecale, at least in this drag race. In that first dig race, it didnt look like you got too much of a jump. Clearly a dice roll from race to race. Great video mate. Nice hat too ;)
Won't be remotely close of what the s58 have been doing. Maserati can't build anything reliable, so I want even mention tunes but the s58 have been running 700-900hp reliably for years with zero issues. These two are not the same.
Great drag race but I did notice that the Grecale did not have launch control mode activated, would love to see what it looks like with both of them using launch control, no launch control and a roll race! Keep up the great work!
Interesting, performance from the Grecale. The M4 is running an engine tuned for performance, the Grecale is detuned so as to not upset MC20 owners. Italian manufacturers are doing something special at the moment
At first I was like did the transmission just suddenly give way but then realized the traction control looked to have kicked in on the X4M Comp from the first dig, when I watched the external angle … both definitely cool nimble CUVs.
We are comparing different segments.Actually grecale creates a new segment between an x4 and x5. x4 is 4,75 and grecale is 4,85. it s more near to a bmw x5 (4,92), same type of car also.They are suv and not sav. Anyway the point is grecale is heavier.
Weight doesn’t put it in a new segment. If they’re natural competitors with similar pricing, features and performance then their competitors regardless of weight. Vehicle size and pricing are more what define what segment they belong in.
The Grecale falls under that segment because of pricing, engine power, etc. It is in some ways on it's own tho, more like the Macan cause It's more luxurious, one of the best cabins i've sat my butt in really. Have one right now and it's just so goddamn good. Furthermore, the interior colors as well as the exteriors are so many, you could even spec it with a 20k exterior paint (had mine in that and it's epic, silverish light blue with gold reflexes)
grecale didn't create anything new dude. the grecale is basically a lwb version of the stelvio, so it's still a compact suv like Q5, x3, glc, macan, cx-70, xc60, f-pace. And guess what? Audi Q5 and mercedes glc exists in lwb version since a while. For people that have the excuse ready (it's for China only eheh :) ) I'd say, don't forget infiniti, that made the QX60 lwb way back in 2015
@@SamCarLegion was there a trick to getting the launch? I’ve heard there is a way to spool up the turbos before launching but I don’t have any first hand experience.
@@S8ER you need to warm up the cars, you can only do 1 launch at time and cool down. You have a few seconds to get it right. Honestly - it’s better brake boost. It launches just as hard and it doesn’t spin which means it doesn’t cut the power. The first one you can see how it cut the power.

Damn great job from Maserati because the BMW only better from zero by a little but after that they nearly same preformance also let us not forgets that BMW bhp always underrated by the company they have more whp when they dyno it
3 things, 1: I fully expected the X4 to crush that Maserati, so very impressed by Stellantis. 2: Between the Maserati grille and the way the front end cants upward during acceleration, it looks like a hungry boat. 3: Thank you, thank you for the acceleration times. Makes your video even better. 👏
this is not a stellantis project, the grecale is based on the same platform that giulia and stelvio use already The giorgio platform born in 2013 and was created by FCA to reinsert the alfa romeo into the market with a proper rear wheel drive traction. so same for grecale and stelvio

@@brahim0x The owner of the car would need to disclose how much they spent on the tuning I guess. Then you could display the MSRP and also the tuning costs. I don't know I'm just thinking out-loud.
Why no launch control?? The sluggish way the x4m launched, omg, even my x3m40i lauches much harder then that. What about the first drag, why the x4m braked just after launch??
The Grecale Trofeo I bet is a great car, they’re depreciating quite heavily and n the US I have a Grecale Modena rental car for a few days and it’s quite impressive, it just needs the extra 200hp the V6 Trofeo brings

@lucasworktv USD$80k vs 105K, substantial difference. If you were to use that difference to spend on modding the BMW, it'd be putting out hypercar numbers.
My man is testing the grecale in a drag race with x4 m competition which is pretty rapid and doesn't even have a clue how to activate launch control for optimum performance and I bet the x4 m is in launch mode. Ffs 🤦♂️ considering the time it ttok him to figure out how to switch driving mode to corsa he might have to go to high school or college for a few years just to figure it out. In launch that maser is a little rocket ship and due to right amount of power/torque and good drive train will keep pulling hard all the way to 180.. It has the nettuno engine in a slightly detuned form of the mc20 supercar powerplant.. Same headlights as well both of which can be found in the new maserati grand tourer gt car also which is an outstanding alternative to the regulars in the super gt market. Super speed allied with ultra levels of comfort and luxury with a gorgeous interior aswell as "hitman" looks with every bell and whistle coming as standard in the purchase price don't have to pay an extra 50k for them bar a few exceptions maybe. Maserati really have come on leaps and bounds now.. The mc20 "in my opinion" the most gorgeous supercar in long time, since the 458.. Waited a long time for the current line up being a huge maserati fan. The previous gen maser gt trofeo arguably amongst the most beautiful cars ever made and a deep growling and loud barking v8 to match minus the stupid childish and immature pops and bangs or sounds closely resembling someone farting like in other expensive cars designed for stupid people. Maserati the cars which personify beauty in the simplicity of its elegance, bravo
It won't be Lexus reliable. In terms of reliability, some mechanics actually rate Maserati above BMWs. I know, craaazy. Engines on Maserati are easier to work on
Considering only the test result, it was impossible to distinguish between superior and inferior. But BMW's performance was obtained at the expense of durability, and Maserati's performance was a performance that secured durability, so it is an overwhelming victory for Grecale. Well done Maserati!
