Have the manual transmission version with the same interior. One of the best cars I've ever owned.

Non turbo fwd will get much better mileage, even with a 2.5L engine. But if you're set on AWD then definitely get the turbo so there's actually enough power to throw to the back to be worth it.

Please trust that the Geeks over at Mazda make sure to compensate for the non turbo AWD. You don't think that they thought of that stuff?

I test drove the turbo a couple of days ago and it has terrific power/torque. T trouble is, where I live, the roads are pretty lousy and the speed limit is 50 km or 60 kms on most streets where I drive so I found the turbo to be a bit frustrating and harsh riding. if I were driving daily on an interstate and could open it up, it would be a blast. For a DD around my quiet town, I think the non-turbo works for folks in my situation as you get that luxury interior with a comfortable ride.
@jbm0866
@jbm0866 2 дня назад
@@metaldreams3595How so? The AWD non-turbo has the same exact HP/TQ as the FWD, but over 200lbs more weight. If you don't need AWD it's like always having a large full grown man with you even when you're driving alone😂 I have the turbo hatch and that's the only way I'd get AWD on the 3. It's enough power with the n/a engine and AWD, but just enough. Not much left over for passing on two lane roads or climbing when you're in the mountains.

I’ve owned a 2019 FWD for ~35,000 miles, and traded up to the 2021 AWD Turbo. I’ve put 72,500 miles on the Turbo thus far. I got 30-31mpg easily on the FWD NA, and am getting 25-26mpg on the Turbo. Not too big of a sacrifice, especially for what you gain. The sound, power, and the elimination of wheel hop makes the car feel a lot more robust. I’ve been very impressed with the Turbo’s reliability. Zero issues. In fact, my NA 2019 had more issues (transmission jerkiness & cylinder deactivation to name a few, but that had more to do with new platform kinks). Added complexity is okay if it’s well engineered and is there for a purpose. I’d argue a 2-3 second improvement in 0-60 is a good one. The only difference in terms of maintenance is that the Turbo requires you change the spark plugs every 40,000 miles.

I would get the non-turbo one if I were to buy one for reliability reasons. On top of it already has a very comfortable ride.

I bought a 2021 Mazda 3 sedan with no turbo. I’m sure the extra power is great but you have to be more timely with oil changes and maintenance. Turbos are like anything else and eventually need replacing. Not to mention all the extra stress on the motor means that too may also burn out sooner. Higher costs in the long run for operations and maintenance just seemed like a no brainer to go naturally aspirated. Remember the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. I drove an 01 camaro for a decade and it had 205hp 225lb-ft. 186hp 186lb-ft in the Mazda 3 is plenty. It’s smaller and lighter too.
@renealbertoreyesgonzalez9604
exactly my thought! More parts more maintenance, more cost! besides in my car it was almost 3K difference! Took the carbon edition instead! It's awesome!

I’m in the market for a small car as a DD to give my 11 year old F150 ecoboost a break. Did you immediately choose the Mazda or did you test drive other brands? Does it have good passing power? I like that the Mazda 3 has at least a 2.5L and a real transmission. All the other brands are 2.0Ls or little 1.5+ turbos with cvts. I was considering a 2.5 Camry but I’d like to keep it under $28k and they are in high demand. The Hyundai Elantra is nice but again it has a little buzzy engine and I really don’t want a turbo since my short commute is all city driving.

I’m a 20 something first time buyer in Canada. I don’t want a car over 30k Canadian, so i got the mid trim (2.5L awd non-turbo). my family cars were 114 and 115 hp so 191hp will be plenty for me. I’ll also be using regular gas so I’ll never extract full power if i had a turbo

I've never understood why Mazda kept a non turbo version of the three around when their turbo skyactive g motor is so good I'm currently shopping for a new car and a Mazda 3 turbo hatchback is high on my list and if you get the black or the gray colored you can also get the red leather interior and it looks fantastic

With Mazda concentrating on on SUVs and crossovers there is little or no room left in the budget for another and given its current sales numbers. I have a 2020 Premium btw and absolutely live it but have no interest in anything else they currently offer.

Rear seat leg room is "fantastic" and headroom is "great"?😂 Sorry dude, simply not true. I have this same exact car except with the turbo, and I consider it a 4 seater in the same way a Mustang, Camaro, Toyota GR 86 etc also have rear seats...as in mostly just for emergencies. Sure the Mazda 3 hatch has better rear seat room than the cars I mentioned (also better than the Corolla hatch) but not the right car if you frequently carry more than one passenger. Still love the car though, just pointing out reality to prospective buyers.😉

@@brokeboy87 but I’m talking about the 4 cyclinder of the stinger which is the 2.5. Do you think the 2.5 stinger is quicker than the Mazda 3 turbo?
@brokeboy87
@brokeboy87 Год назад
@@KobeMpthers correct the 2.5 has about 300 Hp, is equipped with AWD, and good tires are extremely quick. On paper, the stinger is the faster car despite the weight difference.

@@brokeboy87 yeah on Kia website it says the 0-60 is 5.3. But all the people who review it on RU-vid time it like 5.7

@@KobeMpthers Getting a good launch with sticky tires, being at an ideal elevation. It's still within the margin of error. Lastly, it's still a whole second quicker than the Mazda 3. The price difference is marginal between the two cars.
