NCAA gets All America for quick posting of an outstanding meet. Congratulations to the champions: Graham from Harvard, Oklahoma State University. Outstanding performances!
OMG!! I thought he retired. As a Browns and Buckeyes fan, I've disliked him with extreme prejudice, but a huge shout out to T. Brady of UM for being 40th at the 6k split! 7 Super Bowl titles, hundreds of millions of dollars, supermodel wives, and he's Top 40 at the XC Championships.
Graham had a phenomenal race. He'll of course remember this accomplishment for the rest of his life! What a race! Nico didn't have the best race, he's still a phenomenal runner & his team did AH - MAY - ZING, placing 5 runners in the top 25 - most other years NAU would've won. It just was OSU did amazing - er. 😂with their African runners.
@Dvnwee I actually did. He went to a school called Athens academy. I went to a school in their region and ran against him in track and cross country several times.
not about you. nobody cares about you. i raced against 100 olympic gold metalists just this morning for 1 million dollars and won. but it's not about me. he is good, you are a nobody.
Incredible total team effort from OSU after a heart breaking experience last year. Props to NAU for a maximum effort. They ran into a buzzsaw, but did not fall apart under pressure.
I was there, watched it in person, saw everything happen, I'm born and raised Texan, and still, watching this broadcast- the way Greg Metcalf and previously, Pete Watson, have built that team from the home grown Texas boys is nothing short of astounding. Six, seven years ago you'd never have seen half the UT squad from this season make any statement near the level of prominence they had in HS, now they're bordering on podium contention- And that's after weathering a coaching change, too! Speaks volumes to the team culture down in Austin
I love the commentary, I never thought there was so much strategy in cross country. When I ran I always just thought about what pace I was at and that was it, I never thought about how I can help my team win
UNC family member here- We've loved having him, he's been killer!! A great teammate, spectacular athlete, outstanding leader for the Heels squad. I hope his COVID eligibility covers outdoor T&F, too, I'd love to see what he can do there!
@@allthingspi outdoor T&F is what got the most extra seasons! Alex could have two more outdoors if he is at UNC for two years. I'm a 2018 high school grad and if I had been lucky enough to stay in school, I could still be running this next track season. With only really missing the 2020 spring. It's pretty cool lol.
Let’s go Pokes!! Proud alumni of the 2023 NCAA Division 1 National Champions! Can’t count the number of times I’ve run the OSU cross country course in Stillwater.
I kept waiting for the Nuttycomb winner to be highlighted. They did finally at 3K) He looked so chill during this race. Many looked so pained from early on.
@@TheRealBrayoTv Yeah, he said that he felt like he was getting baited into covering a bunch of surges by the leaders at different times in the race, but that they didn't amount to anything, so he felt like he wasted energy. As an observer, I didn't see anything like that. Looked like he actually ran a pretty smart race. Guess being too hard on yourself is a quality of a champion.
What a crumby and unprofessional way to handle athletes in distress at the finish. Organizers were totally unprepared for any medical emergency at the finish.
The inevitable sucking up to how much smarter ivy league or Harvard students are opposed to the rest of the field was painful but apart from that great race and coverage.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life (I love you too, not as much as God loves you but I do love you)❤🙏 Just close your eyes and say “Jesus, I don’t have faith in you, please help me believe” Jesus loves you, turn to Him. He loves you so much that He died for you. ❤
Glad to see an American won. Impressive as it (Oklahoma State) might seem, their team is riddled w/African recruits (their top four runners). Kudos to BYU (third), whose team is composed of Americans...and Texas, whose team also is entirely composed of Americans, with six of them being from Texas high schools...that's impressive! They ought implement a rule...where cross country teams have to match every landed foreign recruit with a local state high school recruit.
Not the entire time 😂 In between the halfway mark and the 3/4 mark is the worst mentally. This course was really a true cross country course (but American standards), it had hills.
31:34 and onward is a folly of errors for the kid that went down. They damn near dropped him, and then ran into the other guy who was wobbling all over.
they did drop him for the most part. fI was at the meet and chatting with someone about it while I was in line to leave and apparantly they were doing wha they were instructed to do.
20:43 she literally names 3 completely different majors that have nothing to do with each other 😂 wasn’t he a business major though? Cost benefit analysis isn’t engineering bro
NCAA, can you not post the spoiler in the description for the first couple days at least? - would like to know who doesnt win BEFORE I watch the video.
No hate on OSU. But there’s no way their top 2 guys are real freshman. They’re both 21 and 22 and have competed in junior world championships. No way that’s fair.
I believe Conner Mantz was 24 when he won his last NCAA XC title, so it's nothing that new to have older guys in these things. I agree that 22 is pretty old to be running as a freshman, but there's not actually any rule about age specifically, as I understand it.
Doesn't sit right with me that many of these teams farm all their talent from overseas. OSU's top 5 has 3 runners from Kenya, one from Morocco, and only one runner from the USA. Respect to teams that actually develop local and regional talent.
@@ArithmophobiaOSU came in second last year i believe and were the favorites going into this. they aren’t the underdogs. seems like people just don’t want nico to win
I refuse to say congratulations to a team that brings in a 22-year-old “freshman” from Kenya. What exactly is the purpose of bringing in professional runners from Kenya for a Sport that generates no revenue? Two Kenyans and a Morrocan as your first three finishers. Congrats 🙄
Many, many teams have been loaded with foreigners for the last 40 years. How do you think Arkansas got all of those titles? Interesting how everyone is pointing out the Africans but nobody is pointing out the white Europoeans with English names....
