I’ve lived minimal since I downsized a few years back, but I make sure minimal for me doesn’t mean ‘bare’. I still like to have things, I’m just careful with what I buy, a smaller space helps keep me there. I have a similar planner I got from Target, and I also have a magnetic wall calendar. I keep it above my desk since I work from home. Good video.

My word for 2023 is simplicity !! I want to simplify our lives! We have 3 kids and a lot of stuff! I want to slowly go through our entire house & declutter! So far we’ve done our laundry room & bathroom drawers and one kitchen cabinet 🙌🏻 I’m going through ever cabinet, closets and drawers !!

My word for 2023 is Exhale. I hold so much stress and tension for no reason so my word for the year helps me to remember that I don't have to carry it all. Also, I have been collecting furniture because we moved last year into a bigger house that was twice as big as our old house. I finally have furniture for all the rooms and I'm so glad I don't have to be using the mental energy to try and figure out what I want the spaces to look like.

Maybe add a wood base under the lamp on counter to make it pop. I love the take down videos. So refreshing

With those lamps from target you should be able to push the chord into the lamp base to shorten it, that way you only have the necessary length to plug it in showing ☺️ I also like using things like cutting boards or frames to cover outlets where I have stuff plugged in. I love the simplistic look but I think you need one other thing by the lamp! Maybe move the little plant by the coffee maker over next to the lamp?

Hey there is a lamp hack from Studio McGee....all cords actually tuck all the way into the base....you start where the chord comes out and slowly push in until the chords is the link you want it. I will try to find the video and send it to you. Love the clean fresh start declutter. Very helpful and inspiring. God bless ya'll,So thankful Ollie is feeling better 💕

I ended up with too many clothes when I started working at home too. Now I just have large selection of cuddle dud sets I wear every day lol. I made a rule if I get something new, something old goes out. Never have too much that way.

Don’t get me wrong, your house is always gorgeous when you decorate, but my favorite is the simple clean look in this video. 😍 but it’s not too minimal to where it doesn’t feel like home. It is still super cozy! The lamp is pretty, but I would try a different one for the space ☺️

Hi Lauren and Ollie. Your videos are inspiring. Going to downsize our house as well. I don’t like clutter. But on the other hand I like my home to looked lived in and welcoming. Not fond of a sterile cold house with minimal decorations. I love decorating for each holiday. Some I decorate more than others. Kinda keeps me in check of how much extra stuff I have. When I holiday decorate I generally try to keep my everyday decorations out. If I have to move or store more than a couple things. That means I have to much.

Have you considered lights beneath your kitchen cabinets? I put LED lights beneath my kitchen cabinets, it gave off more light, making cooking much more enjoyable and I can see better while I’m chopping my vegetables lol. I use my kitchen utensils as decor such as wooden cutting boards, bread box, tea kettle, herb and spice jars (the ones I use daily). I’m very practical and a minimalist so I prefer my decor to be something I use. You have a beautiful home it always looks so comfy and cozy.

Hi Lauren! I have been going through every room and every drawer in our house as well! I am also getting rid of stuff we do not use or need. I realize that we don’t need tons or alot of unnecessary things. It just ends up looking cluttered. I love videos like this. It’s full of motivation and it’s actually enjoyable to watch. Nothing like a clean and organized home. I’m loving the minimal look you are going for. Simple is sometimes better. Everything looks really nice. You have a beautiful home. Great motivation as always, I've just wished to see better the catalogs that you managed to declutter and while you've tossed them as I struggle so much to discard any ''nicer'' paper clutter like this and magazines, mostly the fashion ones. Same goes with any clothes that can't be donated, I usually just put them in a clean bag that I leave in the garage for way too long instead of throwing them straight in the kitchen trash can so I can't change my mind anymore 🤣

Everything looks much, calmer, love to seeing Oliver running around. Have you ever thought of under counter lights that are available through Amazon without wiring? That way it would be off your counter yet you get the light you want.
