There's some mild reason to dog Belichick for the Pats offense being down pretty bad even in the last few years with Brady. New England's receivers have been ass for a while, but they were bailed out by the existence of Gronkowski who was a football aberration. Gronk retires, Pats have nobody to catch the ball, and Brady subsequently leaves for Tampa after his worst season since 2006. This takes absolutely nothing away from Belichick's history of OUTSTANDING defensive performances including in 2018 when Belichick Thanos-snapped the Rams offense out of existence in the Super Bowl.

It's a real shame what's happening in New England, because Bellichick is undoubtedly a first ballot HOF coach lock and arguably the greatest coach in NFL history, but these seasons since the dynasty ended continue to hurt his legacy and make him look like a fraud to the untrained eye despite the fact that all his veteran players, INCLUDING BRADY, continue to sing his praises as a mastermind and a gameplanning genius. My poor cousin and I watched the patriots game and unfortunately we lost badly. On Monday morning I received a call that my beloved cousin died as of the result of a marijuana overdose. Ok I’m sorry, but it needs to be said: Barry’s review videos this year have fallen off of a cliff. While he used to give summaries of the game and put them into the context of the whole season, he now just lazily tells you what is happening in the highlights. I love Barry’s videos but it’s sad to see what happened to his weekly review videos.

Man, fucking THANK YOU for being rational about the Brady vs. Belichick debate. The idea that Belichick got carried by Brady for 20 years is just so transparently dumb. And I say that as a Brady fan.
As much as believe a key part of the dynasty was Belichick, I feel like a key part of the Patriots collapse is also Belichick. Belichick's terrible GM decisions in the last decade has resulted in a bad WR core, a bad O-line, a litany of baffling busts, and even resulted in Brady leaving because he had no weapons. I know Brady was not *good* in 2019, but without him leaving the would not have gotten Cam Newton who was honestly worse then even old Brady. Belichick is an all-time great coach, but he needs an actual competent GM.

When I get to come home from work and classes and watch your review every Tuesday or Wednesday, it is a little light and warmth in my life. So I say this with due respect: the debate around Mahomes v Brady has been over for years. Brady beat Mahomes both times it counted. The AFC championship game and then the Bucs v Chiefs superbowl. If Mahomes gets to 7 rings in his career, he was still bested by Brady. Mahomes has had 3 SB appearances and 2 wins in a 4 year period. Impressive nonetheless, glory where glory is due. But Brady made 3 SB appearances in 4 years and won all 3. Mahomes window to surpass Brady in the GOAT debate is already slammed shut. Mahomes will definitely go down as ONE of the greatest. He will not, barring winning more rings then Brady which is a huge if, be THE greatest.

As a Brady fan during my childhood (yuck), I feel the idea that one player alone can build a dynasty as successful as the New England Patriots is stupid. Emperor Bill, along with a talented variety of Defensive and offensive players, were absolutely a key to Brady's success. That said, this can probably be said for a lot of other quarterbacks as well.
