My wife's boyfriend heard the intro and came running out of their bedroom to watch this with me. Thank you Barry for creating friendships, you're a genuine hero.
Yes I would’ve taken that stink fest over Rodgers being the tool he is thanks to his 1 conference championship care of a Caleb Hanie pick 6 thrown to BJ Raji. He belongs in the Rivers-Romo tier and not the Brees-Warner-Favre tier of QBs.
Interesting how we almost got a Pennsylvanian Civil War Super Bowl between the Steelers and Eagles in 2001, 2004 and 2008. It’s a shame it never happened
That happened several times, 2010 when the Pats were the 1 seed and didn't make it, 2011 when the Pack were the 1 seed and didn't make it, 2016 & 2020 when Rodgers lost in the title game
@@stevenjungbluth640 if I recall correctly didn't Russell throw the overtime TD to kearse and Joe buck said Seattle's going to the Superbowl? Was that not the game right before the Patriots? Or am I just mixing up years?
Brady Vs Manning was some of the peak in football to me. Half the time then meeting in the post season/ championship felt bigger than the Super Bowl itself
Thank you for releasing this today Barry. My wife’s boyfriend allows me to watch RU-vid only until noon during the weekdays, so this will be my video of choice this morning.
The only problem with that is the Patriots would have hung 50 on Green Bay's trash defense and Brady would have 8 rings AND an unbeaten season. I wouldn't be able to handle my Packers being responsible for that.
If Tom Brady didn’t have his magical all knowing powers and they didn’t rule Myles Jack down then we would of had an Bortles vs Foles Super Bowl in Super Bowl 52 Imagine the memes and just the fact that Blake Bortles would be making a Super Bowl before Andrew Luck
Idk what the NFL would've done with a Super Bowl like that. Case Keenum making it wouldn't have been any better. Thank god for the league Brady made it.
if the 2018 NFCCG was correctly reffed we could've seen SB 53 be a Brady/Brees matchup that would've been legendary, or at least have the Saints score more than 3 points
I would imagine if that was the case, the Saints would win that superbowl and brees would have more insurance on his hall of fame career (not that he doesnt already)
The NFL wanted the new LA team in the Super Bowl so they could really draw that lucrative market in. There’s video where a ref starts to pull out a flag on the No-pi call, but a different ref sees him, runs over, tells him something and the flag doesn’t come out.
The Lions were paper tigers all year. San Francisco spotted them 24 points in the first half of the NFCCG and still won easily. Baltimore would have wiped them
I would’ve also liked to see Lions vs. Chiefs. The game that started the season could’ve ended it. Lions looking for their first ever Super Bowl, Chiefs trying to become a dynasty. And ofc, the matchups: Goff vs. Mahomes. LaPorta vs. Kelce. Hutchinson vs. Jones. Dan Campbell vs. Andy Reid.
He literally took away the Cardinals only super bowl appearance in arguably the greatest super bowl of them all, just to further satisfy his eagles bias lol
I was moments away from having disgusting pre-marital sex with my girlfriend when I saw the notification for this video. You snatched me from the devils grip. Thank you, Barry 🙏🏻
1983, SB 18 Raiders vs 49ers instead of Raiders/Redskins, it felt like the 49ers were the better team at the end of the NFCCG but a questionable PI call led to a GW Moseley FG for Washington. 1980 SB 15, Chargers/Eagles instead of Raiders/Eagles, thought that could have been a great matchup.
That 1983 game might have turned the Bay Area into a war zone no matter who won. Doesn't matter that this was the Raiders first season in LA. I'm also going to raise Niners-Chargers instead of Niners-Bengals. The West Coast Offense vs. The Air Coryell Offense.
I'll add one more; Super Bowl XVI could've been the 1981 49ers vs 1981 Chargers. Two high octane offenses with two HOF coaches who both revolutionized offensive schemes (West Coast Offense vs Air Coryell Offense)
@@KevinT7274 u mean if that danny white didn’t fumble or the catch didn’t exist we would’ve kicked a chip shot fg and won 30-28 and smash the bengals 33-17
I think 1999 Jags-Rams would be essentially the lite version of 2000 Ravens-Rams. The 99 Jags went 14-2 with their only losses being to the Titans…then they lost in the AFC Championship to the Titans again! They might have an undefeated Super Bowl run if the Titans didn’t exist lol
I’m honestly really surprised you didn’t put the Brees-Brady hypothetical SB in 2018. I get everyone talks about it, but in my eyes, it would’ve been the best offensive showdown in NFL history. Especially with how insanely good, Brees was doing that year
Barry, you are true hero amongst men showing superhuman restraint by not insisting Donovan McNabb would be an unquestioned Hall Of Famer had the Eagles went to and won one of those hypothetical Super Bowls PS I'll take a seat on the Brady Hate Train and suggest Super Bowl 36 (Patriots vs Rams in reality). We could have had the #1 scoring offense Rams vs the #4 scoring offense Raiders (the 6-10 Colts were #2, but it was Peyton Manning's fault the Colts missed the playoffs) had Brady not used his magical telekinetic powers to rule the Charles Woodson forced fumble an incomplete pass in the Divisional Round. Bonus points for the ripple effect of the Raiders likely *not* trading Jon Gruden to Tampa after making the Super Bowl
It would have been great to see either Favre or Rodgers against Brady in the Super Bowl. Let's not forget that Favre and company came close to that matchup in 2007 season when they hosted and lost to the eventual champions thanks to an overtime interception and a Giants field goal. That Packers/Patriots game in the regular season that you mention, I was there, and that was a fun game to be at.
As a packers fan it really feels like the NFL were never going to let us win more. They wanted the Giants underdog story in 2007. They wanted Brady to come back to his championship-winning ways in 2014. They wanted Mahomes vs Brady in 2020 and so they let Tampa hold GB all game in the NFC Championship. They wanted the Broncos to finally get over the hump in 1997. I can’t think of a scenario where they let us win anything more but since we’re popular they give us one ring every 15 years to keep the fans “happy”.
As a Broncos fan, I’m happy the Broncos played the falcons instead of the Vikings in SB39 because Vikings probably would have one or at least kept it really close vs the Broncos
This video had me really stressed out thinking about all the failed Packers opportunities. But fortunately my wife's boyfriend was there to cheer me up. Keep up the good work Barry.
Barry, have you given a thought to doing a narrative based story for a video? There are a shit ton of dramatic, exciting, comedic, heroic stories in sports out there and when you’ve done that sort of thing in the past I’ve really enjoyed it. I think you’re a good storyteller.
Thr highlight of the KC & TB SB was Pat's superhuman incompletions. Hallmark of a bad game if I've ever heard one but still... those were some SPECTACULAR INCOMPLETIONS. That was also before we were all sick of the Chiefs.
Your fucking crazy!!!! Brady taking the Bucs in his first year and beat the great Mahonnes is the best story in history, next to Eli dethroned Brady and the "PATS" undefeated season. GOOOOOO BUCS!!!!!!
2018 Chiefs vs. Rams rematch in the Super Bowl but KC lost to New England in the AFC title game. Would've been a rematch of arguably the greatest football game every played earlier that season on Monday night.
Thank you for mentioning the 96 season I always believed Super Bowl 31 would’ve been the better game. I mean my team Carolina having a top 5 defense during that year and we beat Dallas in the second round. God what could’ve been to see the Panthers and Jags play each other
Coulda also been bills Bucs 2020 having the bills have a shot to win it all over Tom Brady with Allen emerging in his prime would make every bills fan go crazy
