This was filmed on April 16 during the 2023 Manila International Auto Show at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Philippines from April 13 to 16, 2023. This day was also a collaboration day with John Agustin Scuderia and Julian Dumpit. One of the six vehicles that was featured in a point-of-view driving video during MIAS was the 6th generation Nissan Patrol. This is actually a returning vehicle (same exact unit too) to the channel since it was previously featured in a short driving video last time during Autofocus. Thank you to Worldbex Services Intl (organizer of MIAS), Nissan Philippines, Nissan Otis Manila, Mr. Roderick Alvis for making this test drive possible.

Impressions/observations during the test drive:
The Nissan Patrol looks really nice and massive which adds to its road presence. If one sees this coming from behind, they would probably move over immediately. The color black, along with the chrome details and the LED headlights on this particular unit also adds to the coolness of this vehicle. Moving over into the interior, the materials used in the cabin are all very high quality which gives this vehicle a luxurious vibe. It is also very spacious inside which adds to the ride comfort. It has a 360-degree camera and a blind-spot warning system which are obviously helpful in driving a vehicle of this size.
This vehicle has so much power and torque, which makes it fun to accelerate with. In addition to the power, the engine sounds quite good when accelerating and having it work at higher RPMs because it is a V8. Another thing this engine does well, is the power delivery which is linear and smooth. In casual driving, when RPMs are low and the vehicle is being driven at just cruising speeds, the engine is quiet and does not intrude into the cabin. The transmission of this vehicle is a 7-speed auto, which shifts smoothly in automatic mode and responds well enough to inputs when in manual mode. That 7th gear is nice and would be helpful when cruising with this vehicle on the highway. The steering of this car is unexpectedly light for a big vehicle like this - it is lighter than all the mid-sized 4x4s that were ever featured in this channel (Navara Pro-4X, Fortuner and Hilux GR-S, Ranger Wildtrak, Everest Titanium, and BT-50 4x4). Even though it's light, it still has some good feel on it so it's not vague. Both the accelerator and brake pedals of this vehicle respond well to driver inputs, and without any delay. The ride comfort of this car is excellent and the outside noise insulation is quiet. Its suspension and chassis are able to provide a very smooth experience for the vehicle's occupants. When driving (or just sitting in) the Patrol, the view/seat position is quite high which gives one a feeling of more road presence and more road visibility. Overall, this vehicle would most likely be an ideal one for long drives on highways, and off-roading as well.
