I just collected my new y62 and it has exceeded in every way. It’s drive away price was far cheaper than the Cruiser, it’s leather, power and drive is exceptional. I was previously disappointed with Nissan for the outdated infotainment and wood grain, but now I have it I’m really not fussed. It connects via Bluetooth to my iPhone which serves to play my Apple Music and voice activation for phone. I test drove the cruiser with the big new infotainment screen and to be honest “so what” it was nothing special. I kinda think, if you want to play with your screen, then stay home. Otherwise enjoy the power and superb drive experience of the Y62. I have a 3 inch Torqit exhaust ready to put on and new rims with 295 tyres pending this week. It’ll be just like my old 2002 Patrol - unstoppable. Oh and fuel, I’m getting 14 l/100, not bad at all.
In the same boat ! Getting y62 TiL in year end ! Cbf waiting forever and spending extra 40-50k for cruiser! For apple-play i am happy to mount my phone or upgrade screen when i can!
I love the Y62 , smooth large powerful capable on or off road , an absolute joy 😊. I have two a ST L in bought in July 2014 and a Ti May 2022 , both are fantastic, the older one has a larger steering wheel and more steering feed back but no hydrolic suspension, but neither I or my wife notice much of a difference when driving these , the exterior modernisation looks great on the series 5 and the automated safety features are a big positive. Never had any mechanical or electrical issues , fuel economy very good on highway I got less than 10 litres per 100 kms on a Sydney Byron holiday...amazing ...in the city not great 22 litres per 100 but it is hilly where I live and very short distances driven in traffic. Fantastic car with amazing resale .
Ive owned Land Rover, Toyota and VW, and the Patrol is the best 4WD I have owned. Smooth, spacious, comfortable and loin tingling powerful. Im just disappointed they are phasing out the V8, it is such a beautiful combination.
Just for reference, the stock tyres on my y62 got me to the top of Mount Meharry in WA which is a hardcore, steep, crumbly track to the summit of WA's tallest mountain. I was surprised by how well they handled it.
had y62 in 2011 then qx56 in 2014 back to y62 in 2017, LC owners say they have a good car but we know what car is better when we go off roading in to mud snow desert
$82k ?!?!? Where? $89k on Nissan website, but walk into any dealer and it is closer to $100k. Car manufacturers and dealers are taking us for a ride in the current climate. I was looking at a new car but going to hold off until the madness stops and the greedy, thieving dealers get realistic with pricing. It's all going to come to a crash very soon as interest rates go up.
82k for TI. $96k for TI-L. Superb driving and comfortable. Outdated console. Who cares. Just band wagon jumpers. I'm not buying car for a console. It's the V8 and safety.
$ 82 k is RRP for this Ti model, Before on road costs, such as Rego / CTP & Stamp Duty, and Dealer Delivery ( which many dealers are quoting at very high amounts ) And before any factory options and accessories etc. Patrol is in very high demand, so absolutely no discounts at the moment. The semi conductor shortage problem, won’t get better until mid to late next year. Once all manufacturers can increase levels of production, stock and supply levels increase, and prices will then eventually come down.
the Patrol is the best 4wd vehicle. with proper maintenance, it will last +200k miles. but it is fuel hungry and the electronics are dated. no vehicle is perfect.
Just wish they upgraded the screen to make it more modern. I could literally get a large Android screen and entertainment system installed in my car by some car accessories shop, why can't Nissan give us something similar that's officially a Nissan brand.
I test drove both the y62 and lc300 gx. Both are a little disappointing interior wise (y62 looks older then my 2008 mazda and the gx has no features, which i will forget about eventually) but i did prefer the drive and feel of the lc300 more than the y62. Ended up ordering a white gx that i will switch out the wheels etc.
Too bad the American version, Armada is not the equal. My neighbor bout one last month and is having weird transmission issues (it’s sporadically lagging finding gears) and the techs at the dealership can’t fix it because there are no codes throwing. Albeit, he has recordings of the issue happening, over 30 times in a 2 week timespan.
My Nissan patrol comes with 2 screens, one for navigation and the other for vehicle electronics control. Its Nissan Patrol Titanium trim. It has an eco button that controls fuel and mileage. On a full tank I drove about 700km with eco switch on at speed 120km/h and without eco about 670km on highway. City drive however gives around 590km on eco and 560km without eco.
It ticks all the boxes except that interior, I refuse to pay that much money for something that looks like a 90's ford falcon.......................sigh* the waiting continues
