I think it did real well, considering the Traxxas costs $200 more. My Machete is waiting for the 19t gear. I already scared the neighbor, who has a Xrt.

Just got one of these 6s version. I drove it on 4s and it's plenty power for me... Can't imagine this truck in 6s... I love it so far.

Ok on Redcat live the replacement parts are shipping out March 31. The drive shaft will be one solid with no hole. Hope you get them soon.

Great video… all rc break 🤷‍♂️… I’m a traxxas guy my experience is they are tougher but I have and enjoy my arrma and losi… my bud is more of a arrma guy because of his experience… and half our cars over lap… we have 6 of same cars… arrma and traxxas… they’re all fun or we’d quit… who cares what the haters say

Is that acceptable damage for a basher? No. The rear hub we can understand because it's a terrible design as seen with the Savage platform. That's why on the Savage we install aluminum rear hubs that eliminate that toe link. This was done intentionally at the design table to sell parts. As for the driveline, it's completely unacceptable. Aside from wear and tear, there should never be bending or twisting on the driveline from "normal" bashing. You weren't even being that hard with it, just one particular wonky landing. Will aftermarket upgrades come about? Maybe, we'll have to wait and see but at least the chassis didn't bend like with the Sledge.

What weight diff fluid would you change the rear and front to if you were going to change it?

It all depends. If you're running it on a track I'm sure it would b hold up fine. Any sort of heavy bashing seems to be a bit early to tell. The rear c hubs should be solid with no toe adjustment. I don't like that idea. I would say with the upgraded parts, redcat seems to be on top of coming up with solutions. I feel the shredder is a tough as truggy for the size. Its a badass truck just has shit diffs. If they had just upgraded the drive train on the shredder and put a little R&D into what she already had, it would have been a better platform to start from. I think an oversized kaiju would have been the best choice kind of like the Maxx and xmaxx from Traxxas. But that's just my 2 cents. I really think all plastic trucks are the way to go with what people expect from the bashing world. All in all it would have been way better with pillow ball joints like the arrma 6s lineup. Well see what the future brings!

It's a RC car with plastic pieces that your hitting a 3ft high ramp with at 50+ mph flying it 70 feet through the air. Of course it's acceptable. Where were your 'race buddies' shortly and Gilligan when y6were jumping that ramp? Oh, that's right...they weren't. It's absolutely acceptable breakages.

I say keep it. If the “Machity” can smoke two of Traxxas’ best trucks in back to back runs, it’s worth it just for the lulz. Maybe get some tiny Xmaxx stickers printed up that you can add fighter pilot style onto it every time it scores a kill. ….Sideways landing a jump from that height with that sized vehicle, nah sh*t will break or bend. That’s why companies like RPM, M2C, Basher Queen, & Hot Racing exist. Even Traxxas trucks need upgrades to reliably full send. I have no intention of buying the Machete and I don’t own anything from Redcat, but I’m more impressed with this truck each time I see it. That said, I wouldn’t ramp launch it like a Kraton or Xmaxx/XRT. Just doesn’t look designed for that kind of constant abuse.

Wow those driveshafts are bent , I've never bent driveshafts like that on non of my rigs and we bash at skate parks . GET RID OF IT , It seems like you're going to be replacing parts every time you run it .

500 dollars better spent elsewhere. Sad premature😅 retirement of the Shredder, this video has truly earned it the name RedCrap Machity!
