I’d be surprised if this wasn’t some variant of a Cup engine. Same displacement, same sound… I bet GM is working with NASCAR or Hendrick to develop a viable hybrid powertrain for NASCAR.
It's really exciting to see Porsche and BMW returning to the top level of prototype sports car racing. This is going to be a very wonderful racing season!
I hope to watch this race in person one of these days, Perhaps next year. Thanks for posting this video ! The prototypes are getting better and better looking , especially the Cadillac.

Knowing forza they will have the porsche car Iracing already has the bmw so who knows. The vanwall is already in assetto or Rfactor (idk the details) The other brands i don't know about their deals with videogames
The Porsche sounds great, and looks sooooo nice compared to all the others.. and the saying is for airplanes: looks good, flies good... I hope the 963 flies low and good !
So cool, so coool - this season is going to be epic! Being an MX-5 owner, I just wish Mazda had pockets deep enough to return to WEC / IMSA, in addition to sponsorship of the MX-5 Cup.
@@LankyTurtle I know, right? I'd think Mazda's pockets were at least as deep as Porsche's, yet Porsche manages to campaign a new Hypercar in addition to their one-make Carrera Cup Series. But I also totally understand the difference ($$$) in the respective customer bases, so maybe that's it.
Imagine the day they are all electric and the only thing you'll listen in the garages will be the loud sirens they'll be forced to use to avoid getting any fan hit by the cars heh
I never have a media pass, I just walked over there. That's where I used to watch all the races from in the 80's when I was a kid so I always like to go over there
You can get back there from down near turn 2 where the cars join the track out of the pits, or from walking behind victory lane, but they restrict access for the actual race weekend
I wouldn't say it's open exactly, they're always building the hospitality area during the Roar and people "sneak" back there. If you go up on the platform, security will come by every now and then and run everyone off
Aston makes a decent sound on the straight. Surprisingly bmw is probably equal loudest at full throttle with Lambo and Merc on straights. Corvette is in another league but that’s a retuned gte car so it doesn’t have any of the sound regs
How loud are the LMDh and LMH cars ? I watched DTM when they still had NA 4.0 L V8s and they where Brutal Loud !!! I watched F1 in 2020 and it was meh ... kinda quit . And i watched some GT3 races ... at full throttle the v10s from Audi and Lamborghini sound nice but the rest is also meh ...
The Cadillacs are pretty loud, but not like the GTLM Corvettes that used to run it you ever heard those. The other LMDh cars are about the same as the GT3 cars volume wise, so not real loud.
Obviously AF Corse are running this season You can’t have a499 after the behaviour of West Midlands police But you do get the BMW and Porsche The bmw is lighter the Porsche has 50 BHP extra It will be the last time DCS Racing pay for cars in America
I don’t understand what the Ferrari’s failure in qualifying is connected with, one of the most powerful and quite light. Transmission and acceleration problems? Yes, and a huge size in the places of the team itself - or is it still not enough experienced riders?
