Thanks for the video. I was shocked at the price of the blackfin until I saw the price of a 30ft southport. With taxes about 400K for a little 30ft boat.
The Southport looks like just about the entire sides up to the forward seats have recesses for feet and with the coming pads above, can be fished comfortably. Nice. The others the side wall at the deck comes out, don’t see myself fishing there. Cant get in far enough to lean against the gunnel.
thanks for weathering your storm - these posts really help me ( us ) a lot - the Sportsman has a nice finished head, dual aft side doors, that flip down back seat - it also has twin white 300's at that price and with that helm looks like I gets down to business ...... but that Tiara 38LS with trip 400's at the beginning that you didn't review is my Holy Grail ....
I like the cobia. Nice lines and heavy boats…Opposite to that, I can’t get behind the lines of the blackfin hull. Topside looks great though. I saw a 41 contender with no FWD seating last year at the AC boat show and fell in love instantly. Keep the winter vids coming!
Yep, prices ridiculous. While the Blackfin is a boat show beauty, along with others, I can’t figure out why in the world anyone would want black trim and black powder coat. You’d have to wear a fire suit and gloves in the summer time to avoid burns. I have a bit of gray trim in my boat and everything it’s on is unusable from June-Sep. Looks sweet in January though!
I totally agree with you on anything painted black, especially grab areas where you'd fry your hands during the summer months. Are manufacturers really that stupid with such an obvious detail?
I’m assuming all these new owners are all retired and have a portfolio that only the wealthy can appreciate. No middle class working stiff can afford these today. Not with kids, braces, college tuition, cost of living today . I’m guessing these Incomes are at 400k or higher a year. Boat ramps continue to be zoos on the weekend, it just makes more since to hire a charter 2or3 times a month then afford all the expenses of boat ownership (boat payments, insurance, storage fees, fuel, ice, rods and reels, tackle, and maintenance fees on twins, and misc expenses. Yeah, chartering is way cheaper in the long run.
As a Sea Chaser owner I can tell you their prices are unbeatable, however what you get with it is cheaper fit and finish from bow to stern. The Sea Hunt is not bad in today's market price but the Game Fish 30 is better and even a little cheaper.
The Sea Hunt BX series are the bay boats not the Ultras! the Sea Hunt ultra is the same exact boat as the game fish just with different seating and creature comforts.
Really hope these prices come down in the next 5-10 years. It's insane paying 300k for a 30ft cc. I'd rather just charter boats instead of forking over that much.
Could you make a video of fishing boats? All the boats you show are to go to the sandbar, with more seats than a theater. the only one I've seen ready to fish is the Contender
All nice boats-that Southport has to be my favorite though.Just think-all you have to do is sell your house and use damn nearly all your equity to buy one.Yikes…
That one came with a joy stick? That's like $25k right there. I like the Sportsman but, will probably get a 28', they are quite a bit less. Thanks for the walk throughs.
These prices honestly are a joke, even for the smaller 20-27ft range. I asked a salesman at the NYC boat show how they come up with the discounts for the show. He told me that the manufacturers are the ones that tell the dealers how much to discount the boats. The manufacturers are still making a profit on these boats which just confirms those $20-$40k "discounts" are all fluff.
Not sure what they did with the new 30 Contenders the cockpit is tiny. Living on their ride and reputation a bit too much the metal work, fit and finish have a lot of work to do to catch up with some of the others on that list for less money.
I guess Ill stick with my 2016 Skeeter 21' Bay. Honestly I don't think any of these boats are worth what they're asking. I'm not even going to bother going to the Ft. Myers or Naples boat show when I head down there next week for the winter.
@@JeanlucPicard-kk2jy contender use to be all that back in the day. Not now. I've had two of them 2012 was awesome, 2019 was junk, sold the 2019 in 5 months.
Just can not understand what justifies a boat costing almost as much as a house???? Love all your videos. Sad that majority of fisherman can only hope to win lottery to afford a new boat .
The Sea Hunt ultra series are not bay boats what are you talking about? They are full v-hull offshore fishing boats with added creature comforts hence the ultra!
@@CJfishing2024 not only that but the bling bull shit plastic everywhere. 90% of my calls cant afford a 6 hr charter let alone a thrown together $160k boat!
That blackfin is freaking gorgeous, the only critique I had about that whole boat (coming from the eyes of a welder/fabricator)is the T top. Seeing square tube and round tubing was just an ugly feature imo, I wouldn’t build it like that personally. But overall incredible vessel.
