Really good video, I just bought the Tesla Model 3 RWD. I back up everything you showed and said in the video. I have had the car for a month and have taken 2 road trips already and both were great. Charging on the road was very easy and reliable. No charging issues at all. The car is as fun to drive as any car I have ever owned, really better, expect for some manual transmission cars I have owned. I love driving stick shift sports cars. However, this is a fun driving car in its own right.
I had a 2022 and upgraded to a 23.. what a downgrade! taking out the radar sensors . tesla vision is terrible so far . slow. not impressed. I wish I had kept the 22.. not to mention I had NOTHING for 6 mos while they said the updates coming.. total BS. what mfg can sell a car and not tell u what features are missing!
Yea, I had actually heard that just recently. Not a happy moment for Tesla and it’s owners. This whole radar versus camera thing is a little weird for Tesla. Thanks for sharing.
Removal of parking sensors before a good replacement system is in place is far from ideal. The current model 3 on Australia out of Shanghai still retains them.
Yea.good point. And not a bad deal at those prices if it is in decent shape. For the rentals need to keep in mind that they were always fast charged and many times all the way to 100%, so a little bit of a hit on long term battery life. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If you want a 2023, best time to get them will be as early in January 2025 as possible. They become eligible for the $4000 used EV tax credit on January 1st and they’ll go fast. It’s very difficult to find a 2022 right now because everyone bought them up with the tax credit. I see 20 of the 2021 cars for every 2022 I see for sale.
About 8 months ago we bought a used 2022 Tesla Model 3 RWD and I gotta agree with you on many aspects. It's crazy how comfortable, powerful and fun it is to drive.The LFP is a great battery for a no-brainer, plug it in till 100% charging experience. While we charge mostly at home, we never have range anxiety with the Tesla SuperCharger network like we do with our VW ID4. I'm shocked that it's the cheapest, slowest and most base Tesla you can buy. SO much capability and tech in a base car. We love it.

Forget the EV hoopla and planet saving promises. We spend time in Tesla’s cheapest offering to find out if it’s truly fun to drive and if the features and quality are worth the 40k price tag. And with aggressive state and federal incentives is now finally the time to go EV?

For months I have been debating on whether to get the LR or the RWD, and because I live in Canada, the price difference between the two is $10K +, and I just couldn't justify paying that much more. So i took the dive, and I ordered the RWD drive. This video confirmed that I made the best decision!

@@Wildlife_Unlimited02 im in Canada as well and i got the RWD and have no regrets. Have driven thru many snow storms with my RWD and had absolutely no issues. Just put a good set of winter tires on the car and i guarantee AWD wont be missed.

Thanks for watching and the question. Tesla provides the base stereo in the rear wheel drive. If you go to the AWD versions, (long range and performance). You get the better stereo. The base stereo is actually quite good though.
Jesus Christ y'all can come on anything Tesla and fan where the hell out of it. I'm sure it's a nice handling vehicle in the sense that it has a nice farm damn suspension tight steering and low profile tires but also 90% of cars a bunch of SUVs at the pace that you're going to go around that road and you'll still feel the camber of the road and all that stuff it's good I'm sure but there's nothing that you're doing that almost any car on the road that's in good save on new car can't do so therefore the goodness is not a tributable to just this being a Tesla and being the model that it is for the most part it's just it's a new car they mostly handle pretty well nowadays
Very good review and description of how the car feels. The price of the car with the fed tax credit is hard to beat in an EV or even a comparable non-EV. Tesla is killing it at this price point. I hadn't noticed the cabin echo you mentioned, but I do have a sun visor installed on the front sunroof. I concur about feeling bumps, especially when going slower. I think it's the best car I've ever owned. I considered other EVs, but the SuperCharger network is also a major selling point for Teslas.

Too bad Tesla didn’t give us the model 3 with: - real door handles on the outside and levers on the inside so that there is always a mechanical connection to opening a door - a metal roof - cloth seats - heat pump with resistive for us in cold climates - a small binnacle for the driver - motorless air vents - climate control nobs - a glovebox with a latch to open manually - don’t need the iPad for the entertainment unit, something half the size would be fine - seat heater buttons front and back - better battery cooling In my opinion, these would have made the car overall cheaper to make and would have made it a better entry level one at the lower price. By all means offer the “leather”, glass roof, larger ipad as options. Tesla did many things that other manufacturers still don’t do today: - rear wheel and awd offerings (why fwd?) - powerful motors (each model is fast in its price bracket if not market leading) - large battery with good charge rate - battery temperature moderated - actual car shape and not horrible pods - good suspension layout and decent handling - excellent packaging with the frunk and trunk with its lower trunk Tesla needs to expand its stores, at least in Canada, where they are few and very far between. The US is probably a different experience. Tesla needs to encourage their owners to do proper maintenance instead of propagating a myth that electric cars don’t need regular maintenance. Lubricant and fluid analysis done privately proves that the gearbox lubricants and filters do indeed need regular changing depending on severity of climate and type of use conditions. Brake pads wear less than ICE cars but that does not mean in certain climates the brakes don’t need yearly maintenance and they all need 3 year brake fluid changes. The purchase experience is kind of garbage and when you have a trade it makes it worse. In my opinion there can be great car buying experiences to be had if Tesla would have upfront purchase agreements and would use the dealer trade (valuing) purchasing network to get the best trade values for their customers and get them off their inventory quick. With all that said, Teslas cars are number one in the EV market. Hands down. It should be the first EV anyone who is looking for an EV test drives… VW was so close to having hit a home run with their eGolf. Love the Golf. Can you imagine the success it would have had if they had made a Golf, GTI, and R as they were (7.5) except the floor pan was manufactured so that a 60kwh battery would have been there, packaging would have been such that there was a good sized frunk and under hatch storage like the Tesla with your choice of FWD, RWD, and AWD? A Golf eR with 400hp would have been welcome on the market along with many buyers for just an every day Golf at every day prices. Missed opportunity.
Thank you for the thoughtful comments. You make some great points. Tesla is much more vertically integrated than legacy car makers so I think over time they will provide more options. Currently they have economy of scale by keeping the assembly variations small. And great insight on the fluids. Regarding the Tesla buying experience it is hard for knowledgeable buyers regarding the trade process. They offer the lowest of any company on trades because they then have to move them along to a third party as they have no way to resale. So no middleman on the Tesla purchase but lots of inefficacy in the trade. As you point out this takes away from the experience and buyers do walk when they hear their low trade in compare to the traditional dealer down the road. EVs have way further to go then the plan just a couple years ago. Battery tech is also rapidly changing. It’s all still in its infancy way more than we are lead to believe. I agree Tesla doesn’t do used cars. All good. They can however use a third party service provider like TradeRev or equivalent to provide a competitive value that is immediately gone once it’s taken in. The price of the service is typically passed on to the person trading in off the value of the vehicle. It’s easy and generally gets the most value for the new purchaser and makes the dealer (or could for Tesla) look like a hero.
