I drove by my local Toyota dealership down the road from me this morning(9/15). The new car lot is empty. On their website, 5 of 6 Camrys are 'in-transit'. Toyota is creating demand for vehicles that are not being produced in enough volume to prevent greedy dealers marking up over MSRP.
Your comment is the very reason why dealers are marking up inventory. Less inventory, higher demand. The dealers bills didn’t decrease just because there are less vehicles so they have to adjust by charging more for the lower amount of Incoming inventory.
Same here, just sold my truck to the dealer and they only had 6 brand new cars on the lot. The salesman told me they normally would have 250-300 new on the lot.
I'm a Toyota driver but man do they get away with ridiculous charges for badging and plastic swaps. The Trail and Special Editions are always a complete rip off, lmao.
14 years on the 5th gen and they're going strong, this is no doubt a great vehicle. I've had mine for 5 years and still love it. I don't even want the 'upgrades' provided in the 18-23 model years. I just hope that with the loss of the Landcruiser models in the US, the 4runner can bridge the gap and maintain the off road legacy that made it what it is.
Why did you bother to make this when you damn well know you didn't do anything new? We can literally watch the last 10 years of commercials and get the same truck.
My beast is a SR5 4WD 1999 Toyota 4Runner, we have been together for almost 13-14 years (my one and only car) and currently has 267,000+ miles. She has been real good to me and is still holding strong (still have the original car carpet mats too and minimal rust). I'm not sure if I'm ready to retire her just yet, but I will say the 2023 is a tempting upgrade, definitely trying to stick with a 4Runner if/when that happens.
I just got my 23 TRD ORP a month ago. We love it. @Toyota the #1 reason I bought this vehicle was the engine and transmission reputation. It’s bulletproof. Everyone, every magazine and review wants us to buy a new Telluride, Explorer or whatever. They say “we are more modern” or “we have more horsepower and you are dated”. Yet every damn one of those people are absolutely envious when I drive by. Eat your damn heart out naysayers. In 10 years you’ll have traded in twice. Mine will be paid for and still better. Thank you Toyota for creating super dependable vehicles that don’t just change with the popular crowd, but sticks with those people who are off the beaten path.
I would like a v8 4Runner, I miss my 4.7 4Runner , it was perfect in every way . That’s what it really needs instead of them useless accessories, stickers, etc . It needs a v8 for last model, 4.6 v8 4x4 6 or 8spd SR5 4x4 without all that garbage of accessories and sensors for dummies
My mom has a 2020 sr5 4runner and it is awesome. I just turned 15 and got my permit so it is the vehicle I am learning to drive in! Maybe one day I will be able to get one
Call around and check websites like autotrader. There are a lot of dealers who sell at MSRP with no hidden costs or mark ups. In Pennsylvania Bobby Rahal Toyota sells at MSRP. Fiore Toyota sells at MSRP. Colonial Toyota sells at MSRP. Cochran Toyota sells at MSRP.
i would love to get a 4 runner but toyota you really gotta stop selling the same car every year with VERY minimal upgrades from the previous year the interior looks just like it did on the 2015 model im sure me and a lot of people are waiting for the real upgrade not just these small changes at full price
Love the 4runner always will but it’s time for an update even though it still looks amazing I’m excited to see the future I just want to know when. The 4runner is a vehicle that you guys have never gotten wrong every 4runner is perfect
Toyota I have an 07 v8 limited, my girlfriend has a 2002 and my parents have a 18. Please keep the FunRunner body on frame, a v6, and give it a roll down rear window. Anything else I absolutely trust with your judgment 🙏
Love my slightly modified 4th gen 4runner (video walkthrough in my channel). Hope there’s a redesign in year 2024 or 2025, possibly a hybrid model too would be nice, pure electric with 500 - 700 miles of range would be even more dope but that’s probably not gonna happen for a very, very, long, long time.
Love it!!! Had 1990 2nd gen - 200+ miles, still have 2002 270k miles, 2014 100k miles. No problems scheduled maint and oil and drive. Good luck finding any of the higher trim levels in 2022 however.
I am currently driving a 2021 TRD Pro in Lunar Rock, bought it “Certified” New with 4k on the clock. I absolutely love the ever-loving crap out of this truck. So much so that I put my name on the waiting list for the 2023 Solar Octane color. Dealership called me yesterday, it’s on the boat heading for port. So about 8 weeks from now I’ll be “upgrading” so o can break the vehicle in properly and truly enjoy a worry free ownership. Thank you Japan for having such pride in your work and for keeping the legacy alive.
I have an early 5th gen with just over 100k miles. It’s a solid and perfect vehicle for my needs of overnight camping to photograph nature and wildlife in remote areas. All I have done were oil changes, filters, 1 set of tires at 95k miles, and gas.
Hello, there! Thanks for reaching out. While the '23 4Runner does not have a power liftgate for the trunk itself, it comes standard with a power rear liftgate window with auto up/down and jam protection. This rear glass raises and lowers with the push of a button, making it easier to grab your gear from the cargo area. 😀 👍
They already have a TNGA 4Runner, it's called a Highlander. The whole point of 4Runner is that it is old timey body on frame, which many people want to hold on to for their own reasons
Dear Toyota my grandpa loves your company he brought a sr5 and sequoia limited I told him I well buy a 4Runner because it has good engine and other stuffs Toyota make good and amazing cars yo work hard they made Toyota Camry 4Runner sequoia highlander Prius tundra Tacoma Sieanna and stuffs Toyota keep going you are making amazing cars that has alot of mikes v8 on some suv v6 on a Camry that power is good Toyota you make amazing cars work hard keep trying cars with a lot of miles is worth it
@@toyotausaToyota I thank you more that you make amazing car my grandpa said he was going to sell his trucks and buy a Tacoma and a Toyota sendan excepts his Toyota’s
@@toyotausa The capability of going anywhere no matter what the weather conditions may be. Amazing for the family with the 3rd-row seating, and most importantly the reliability of an amazing engine that will last me for years!
Reliability, dependability, safety, and fun are all words that we strive to embody with all of our vehicles. We're so happy to hear that your 4Runner is performing to those standards! 🤩
@@victorcianflone5093 cause they already got rid of it for the 22 Sequoya and land cruiser...there's no way they're keeping it for 6th gen......... Also not to mention that the Toyota engineer also said most likely it's gone in 6th gen
I think the New 6th Generation 4runner should be above the new landcruiser in capability. It should compete against the Bronco and Landcruiser 250prado
As long as they keep making them in Japan I will keep buying them they are bank vault solid and resale is second only to a Vancouver condo. Just add a heated steering wheel for us in the North and more interior storage, I don't give a hang about apple blah blah touch screen blah blah...I'm 60 not 16
To expensive, and production can’t keep up. So we are push to get ford,Chevrolet, Nissan Honda, all comparable at a lower price. Ps: A big move is developing to stop the car dealers monopoly and price gauge. Ford Ranger is price a msrp 25k on base model, but dealers have it even 10k more. Enough is enough
Please please please please please please Make in right hand drive. Why ever do they not make this legendary vehicle in right hand drive. They stopped making in right hand drive in 2007 I think. This is my vote.
Can someone confirm if the 2023 4runner TRD off road premium plus pkg has automating headlights and heated steering wheel? Something tells me it's just the Pro and limited that have them
I have a 2023 TRD ORP and it does not come with automatic headlights or dual climate control. It does come with a heated steering wheel though. Hope that helps.
If only the new Sequoia had a rear hatch had features like this; sliding rear window, chiseled & rugged look, more cargo capacity like that of the 2nd Gen 'Quoia...
Wondering when they'll finally bite the bullet and make a 6th gen. I wonder if the 5th gen will be the last and they'll kill the name in a few years when the crown lineup comes out. Toyota will bring the 4runner name back in 10 years on an electric sedan
I put down my deposit for my Pro like 3 months ago, expecting another 6 month wait until it arrives too. But who cares, it's exactly what I want and will keep it for ages. My current 3rd gen is 22 years old and everything still works lol as the original owner of this new '23, bet I can make it last even longer.
Yeah looking at countries below the equator, they ain’t going anywhere. Remember toyota is global. They got plenty in their basket to sell. They’re smarter to not put their eggs in one basket. Gas, hybrid and EVs will be their lineup. ☕️ EVs are just hype.🤣
Needless to say I'm addicted. I don't care if its "Outdated Dinosaur" as some say, I want no BS reliable transportation just like I love 70series Land cruiser so much more than 200 series. Wish I have old school solid axles on my 4Runners.
Please keep the 4L V-6 and or include the 3.5L non -turbo V-6 as options in 2024. Maybe use the Tacoma 6 speed transmission to continue durability instead of an excessive 10 speed.
