Still driving my good old 2012 prius for 6 years now. 211.000 km on the clock. Had zero problems with it and it’s bringing me and my family from a to b every day without complaining. As long as it does that i will keep driving it
@@xoxo_ang right?! Why throw something away when it’s still works good? People always want something new.. and Better and more gadgets on it more hi-tech Consuming consuming.. but those Prius’s are made to last for a very long time
I have drove my 2017 Prius for 1 year ever since i got it in mandalay but half of my smaller glasses on the car have been stolen by stealers also breaking half of my right one :( i hate robbers
I have my 2012 Toyota prius still up and running with 226k miles. Literally the only thing I had to change was the brake pads and usual maintenance requirements like oil changes. Fantastic cars
DAMN... im a manual transmission lover but this new prius hit so many marks and looks so freakin good I'm actually thinking of getting one I cant believe im saying this... 🤦♂
Such a disappointment was hoping the cargo space increased, but actually decreased.. doesn't come with a spare tire.. requires premium in order to get maximum hp. Not many of these will be sold... On the other hand the exterior looks nice! Talk about a stylish tradeoff for utility compromise..
The ONLY thing i don't like is the reduced visibility in the back. The divided back window of my current Prius spoiled me :) Car looks amazing. But I will wait for the next version. My current Prius is just a couple years old anyway.
I am glad your made changes to prius, after owning one in 2015, this car changed my mind about hybrids in many ways. The car is seriously underrated. I still love my gasoline cars, and I think toyota should always build engines, but the Prius is wonderful car to drive for everyday driving. I have got as high as 100mpg with my prius. Glad the corolla hybrid gets as high and has awd now. I think more people need to own a prius to understand this car. I think their is still a fan base for prius V and Prius C
This is going to be an amazing Prius. I have a 2020 Prime and love it. I would love to upgrade to this one but with the Federal Tax Credit disappearing to almost nothing and recession looming these will not sell as well as the previous versions! Toyota should give some sort of loyalty credits cuz without $7500 credit it’s a tough economy car to sell.
I love the base LE trim with the 17" alloy wheels and 55-57 mpg with available AWD. However please don't nickel and dime buyers with manual passenger seat, single zone climate control, no rear vents for the XLE and limited trims especially when the cost is upwards of $37,000. It's ok for the base LE trim, not for the others. As great as the exterior design is.
Just traded my 2004 Prius with 300,000 km for a brand new 2023 Prius Prime. I bought the ‘04 new and it was the best vehicle I’ve owned. No repairs needed, just basic maintenance. The engine and hybrid drive train still ran like new. I hope that the latest version of Prius is as reliable.
That's awesome, Mark! It sounds like you know how to take excellent care of your vehicles. We have no doubts that your new Prius is in great hands with you! 🙌 We wish you many miles and adventures together!
I have owned the new 2023 for the last few weeks. Has much more pickup than any previous versions. The car has a much smaller trunk. If you need to put a walker or wheelchair in the back, you must take down both back seats. You can’t change out any of the lights on the inside for aftermarket; they all use a circuit-style light. The dome and reading lights in front aren’t that bright. The car looks very sporty inside and out. If you are six feet or taller, watch your head getting in and out; the ceiling is cut significantly lower than in previous generations. The main car battery is back in the trunk, which is more accessible. The car has no spare tire, so if you buy one, you lose a lot more of your trunk. The vehicle makes a cool noise when driving slowly through parking lots, more of a head-turner for people. I do like the lock and unlock noise from the car; it’s new and sounds great. You can turn on your vehicle and off from an app. Car has built-in Wi-Fi from AT&T, not as fast as Verizon, but the connection has not been an issue as the connection is stable everywhere. Also, in the app, you can see the health of your car, see if your doors are unlocked, and lock them. I wish the app would let you roll windows up and down. The car is ultra quiet on roads and freeways. This is the fifth Prius I have owned; they have never broken down. I have never taken any of my Prius previously to a shop for any repairs and that’s with the cars having over 300k in miles. ~Chad James
Very nice! I have too much invested in my 2019 gen 4 Limited, than go into debt. I'll just have to be happy with my 🐢. But I'm quite satisfied & it's fast enogh for me. I laugh all the way past fuel pumps.😁 And wave/say hello to other Prii owners, we're a "family".
I went to a local Toyota dealership 2 days ago and their parking lots were mostly empty meaning they don't have news cars available for sale with only 1 2022 Prius left and the salesman told me 2023 new models will not be widely available until 2024. Worst yet it will cost me close to 40,000 USD to buy a most basic LE model.
Who needs a Tesla now when you can get a Toyota for less! I love the sleek body yet functional hatchback design. Perfect combo. The all wheel drive model is the icing on the cake and a hybrid engine is spot on. Don’t follow the media mafia. Americans ain’t ready for all electric cars.
IF I did my math correctly, and my source is correct... Starting MSRP: $27,450 LE FWD $28,850 LE AWD $30,895 XLE FWD $32,295 XLE AWD $34,465 Limited FWD $35,865 Limited AWD Add these things for your absolute total: + $1,095 for handling + Packages and options + Your state and local taxes & fees + God only knows how much the dealer wants to upcharge and rip you off.
We're thrilled that you're expressing interest in a new Prius! Starting MSRP for the 2023 Prius is $27,450, and you can find more details here: www.toyota.com/prius/. We suggest reaching out to a local Toyota dealership to get detailed information regarding inventory availability and options. yep, $1900 for some pro coverage bs you cant avoid, paint protections up to another $900 and another toyota coverage $600 I believe (2 oil changes and something else...Jesus Christ)
@@kaltrex9465 cant order (customize) in US, only keep checking availability though inventory on a website, I bought 2023 xle today, was physically at the dealership (came to buy one, but it was already sold, so they didnt had any and then...manager printed paper with a car that's not even on a website and still in transit, 34k msrp sticker, went up by what I posted before, plus doc fees (another 1k) ended up 39.5k after tax, so there is no way to buy msrp, dealer WILL add at least 3k no matter what and you CANT go around it, they know they will sell it, so they dont care what you think, thanks for not adding price adjustment to the price tho
We collected our 2024 Prius Prime in March after a twenty-one month wait. Actually ordered a (red), 2022 in 2021. It was to be our third Prius but first Prime. In March past, a Pearl coloured version "pitched". First of all, I've spent some time since, pointing out to people that our SE is not white. Takes a good hard look at the paint before you realize the car is not white, the hue is pearl. One of those happy mistakes I guess. We have been getting above the claimed EV range consistently. Best day yet saw us go 91Km with a 6% SOC left. The other day, after an overnight charge, the computer suggested an EV limit of 98Km. Stellar. So, how come, we can't "run" in Hybrid Mode, with our 2024 Prime until the Traction Battery is fully discharged. Very curious.
There needs to be more room for hybrids like this in the market. Dealers and countries claiming to go full EV by 2035 or earlier are probably not going to achieve their goals. And, to be honest, they're probably lying so that they can sell more cars at a higher premium.
Just sold my 2017 Prius this year for more than I paid for it in 2018! Originally purchased for $26K, and sold it for $31K. It's an investment ya doofus!
You could get the plastic film Toyota offers for various exposed parts of the car…looks very transparent but I might worry about long term….it’s not cheap either…cheers!
@@ceciliaabdalla4954 original battery. Did have to change out one bad blade at about 260k. Did it myself. Very easy. Cost about 40 bucks. I have changed a battery for a friend. If you can get a good used battery from a salvage yard, you can change a battery out in about an hour. It's very easy to do. Got battery from salvage yard for $300 with 3 month guarantee. That was over 3 years ago and hers is still going strong.
Hi, Ram! 👋 The on-sale date of the all-new '23 Prius will be announced soon. Stay tuned! You can view more information and sign up for Prius updates here: www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/prius/
Lovely looking car…..Shame about the rear door handles, they look hideous 😢 It would have been better to keep the rear door handles in-line with the front handles, or maybe keep all the handles hidden until pressed to open, similar to Tesla
Hi again Toyota, Do you realize some of us are over 6 feet tall? You have removed substantial headroom and cargo space from what had been your most practical car. 🤨
@@gradientO Unfortunately,Toyota is lowering the SUV's rooflines and making rooflines lower on every new design - that goes for SUV's and all Toyota vehicles. Lower designs may help MPG a bit, but result is bad outward visibility, less safe to drive due to poor visibility, less cabin room, less headroom, cramped interior, uncomfortable interior, and less overall driving enjoyment. I would gladly take a higher roofline - with more room/better visibility - over lower gasoline mileage (MPG).

Finally a Prius that looks cool and sporty. But, I'd suspect that it will loose its coolness once being used, again, as Uber cars and Taxis all over the world
