I was worried about how to warm up my engine with my hybrid I got the answer now. Many thanks I will try that on my brand new CHR that I will receive next week.
I think it's a great idea. I'm a long time lexus owner and considering a new 2025 hybrid camry for purchase when it's available. I was always wondering how would i warm up the engine before driving and this video answers my question on that. Thanks for making this video! Do you know for how long your engine stays on? Is it under a minute?
Glad you found my video that answered your question. It stays on for just under a minute and than switches to electric when it’s warm enough to be driven.
Driving it straight away at cold does more damage over time. In the Hybrid Kluger by tapping the accelerator the engine kicks in and a minute in it turns off as the temperature has risen.
I doubt it increases wear, as at low speed car is driven by electric motor and engine is working at low RPM heating up and providing power to that electric motor under low load. So you’re driving and heating up at the same time not wasting energy (unless you floor it , that would be harmful of course). At least that’s how it works in my Toyota Hybrid.
@@aft-fishing90it's more efficient because you start off when it's warmer... but it doesn't take into account all the gas you burned from sitting waiting for it to warm up. Might as well drive it gently and let everything circulate and make progress at the same time.
