I've had mine for a month now. Very happy with it despite it not being available with the v6 in NZ. Twin turbo 4 cylinder to tow my 3 tonne caravan of which I'm pleased with and economical. Just wish there was a switch to turn off the engine stop/start permanently. A joy to drive and am understanding more about the big screen as time goes by.

That's great you have had ownership for a month and I am sure you will have more happy months and years to come and it's a shame the V6 is not available over there. Maybe the market is not there for it. That's great to hear it still tows your 3 tonne Van. Yes it's a shame you can't turn it off permanently. Hi Alex,hope all is well with you mate,wow thanks for another awesome video,im so blown away from this vw,i cant believe how nice the interior is,not to mention the led lights to,i love the swede seats to,all round the vw looks pretty awesome,mate i so agree,the ranger was quite nice inside,but this is another level for sure,and its only the mid spec imagine the top of the range,i know you really enjoyed the nice smooth ride to,very comfortable,fuel economy is really good,mate thanks again for the awesome video champion take care of yourself,hope you have an amazing weekend,see you on the next one champion.-)

Hi Carlo, Thanks for watching. Yes the Amarok is a great comfortable all around ute for work and play where as the Ranger is more work and less play. I would have one of these definitely. Have a good weekend and see you on the next one mate. 👍

Hi Alex, thanks for reviewing the Amorok V6. Did you pay attention on real life consumption of the ute, I know VW claims pretty good numbers, but you know there’s always difference

Hi dimitarzlatarev9774, Thanks for watching I really do appreciate it. When I was driving around in it I found it was about 1/1.5 litres more than VW claim but it does depend on how you drive it but it was pretty close.

I have watched plenty reviews but no journalist seems to know the style variants. So far I have learnt the style comes in either bi-turbo 2 l 154kw or 3.0 l 184 kw v6. But what seems more confusing is that the other style comes with 3 bar led day time at the top of the headlights and a hallowagen indicator at the tail. Where as this one you reviewed comes with full led day time lights and full led at the tail just like the Aventura. Also in the next review could you clarify the differences between the Pan Americana and the style v6. Is there another difference apart from the blacked out wheels and sports bars of the pan americana? They say it's off road focused but I don't see how it differs from the style v6. Any difference in suspension tuning? Thank you.

Hi calvinsinvula, Thanks for watching I do appreciate it. So the engines are as follows The entry-level TDI405 engine in the Amarok core is a 2.0-litre single-turbo four-cylinder diesel making 125kW of power and 405Nm of torque. It’s sent to the road through a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, along with a 4Motion four-wheel drive system with selectable 2H, 4H, and 4L modes. The Amarok life and Style has a bi-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel making 154kW of power and 500Nm of torque, mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive. The Amarok Style and Panamerica TDI600 packs a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel making 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque, mated with a 10-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive. The only petrol options is the Amarok Adventura TSI452, which is a turbocharged 2.3-litre petrol engine making 222kW of power and 452Nm of torque. It’s mated with a 10-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive. The LED lights are the IQ MATRIX standard in the Style model and higher and has the led lights in the rear standard as well. I will see what other models I can get to see what the real differences are between them. I think they are much the same but just body style and trim pieces and different wheels Thanks for watching.

Am about to buy one. Honestly, as cliche as they have become, after doing my due diligence, I would probably go the Ranger but the loosely equivalent model, the Wildtrak is a full ten k more expensive. I only really have one issue with the Style. The Americana too for that matter. Who's absolutely clutzy idea was it to say, "ok. I have an idea. position the roll bars so they make it impossible to lean over the edge of the tub and extract anything......ever". I mean, that's almost a deal breaker for me and probably should be. I just know its going to be a pain in my arse for the next ten years.... Must be the same genius that had the engine stop/start button reset to on every time you switch off the engine. That guy should be sacked and sent to a remote 19th century French penal colony in South America.

I know you had the Style in the Video during daylight hours but for you or anyone else reading along who may know, it's such a large screen, I am wondering if there is any backlight/glare issues at night?
