Great info on the Grizzly thanks. I used to live a little East of you in Vail and have spent a lot of time riding those mountains too. In Idaho now and have lots of good riding too but sure do miss the beauty of the desert.
I use my front rack on my atv all the time. Holds my rotopax spare fuel containers when we are on longer trail rides. I can mount two 2 gallon ones across it and they are low enough to not interfer with my center mounted light on my honda rubicon 520. I have a case on the rear rack for jackets, recovery equipment, food, etc. Also by having the fuel up front I can keep an eye on it for leaks and such.
I went with black 12 inch OEM Yamaha wheels from the EPS with Kenda Bearclaw HTR's, 26-9x12 and 26-11x12. Had them on my 18 Brute and they were awsome. Now having a set on my 22 Grizzly SE makes it ride like a dream. Just did 55 mph on the highway and smooth as glass. PSA tho, if your going to a 12 inch wheel, you have to change out the rock/brake disc guards, which is a PIA.
Yup I know about the rock guards in the wheels. I would just trim the current ones. A lot of people like those tires but I found more than just a couple people who complain about balancing issues with them seems to be pretty hit or miss. I just don't want to chance it.
I like the look with the front rack off! Tire choice is definitely a tuff one with the 14" wheels. Unfortunately those wheels look great, so I'd hate to see you have to switch them out..
Thanks man, yeah I like the look without the rack. If you're not going to use it just makes sense to remove it. The width of the wheels is really what makes it difficult because you don't really want to put a 9-in wide tire on a 8-in wide rim because it leaves little rim protection. The rims are nice so I hate to get rid of them. Also was talking to Brian I may go with the terra cross in 26x10
I agree with terracross all be getting a set myself .. I had them on my outlander and loved them they don’t have the strongest side wall but still a great all around tire .. it sucks we don’t have more choices though ..
I have all my atvs registered road legal except for my sons 110. Even that one has a plate though. In az everything gets a plate for ohv use. If its street legal it has an extra sticker on the left corner.
Hey how well do you think the Grizzly would hold up plowing snow on very long dirt driveways and easements? Cool rig, I’m def in the market. Plowing snow would be my main focus, the having fun close second. Thanks
I have no experience plowing with a grizzly 700, but many people use them for that purpose. That being said years ago my family had a grizzly 660 with a plow and it was a beast. I can only imagine the 700 being better.
On my 16' i parked in the lake with that vent gas hose under water. It was a hot day so the gas tank expanded and filed water in the tank. Quad would not start. I moved hose same way u did.
Couple of considerations. The Rox Risers are definitely very nice and allows for choosing your own MX handlebars. Like you, I didn't care for the included bars that came with the Rox kit and I ended up sourcing bars that have a greater sweep and are also a bit wider. That ended up working out really well and I wish Rox would allow for more handlebar options in their kits. However, if I were doing it over, I would just buy the risers and source my own handlebars to suit my needs. Secondly, you could just grind down those OEM handlebar tabs to allow you to space out things better on those bars.
Yeah that's a great idea to get different handlebars which ones did you go with? I like the sweep of the factory ones how they come back to you a little bit.
@@OdysseyOffroad I tried a couple different ones to get some sweep into MX style handlebars to fit on the Rox risers but was looking for something with the sweep not quite as pronounced as the OEM bar sweep. I ultimately settled on RENTHAL Yamaha YFZ 450 07+ Fatbar Handlebars. There is one Renthal version that has a bit more sweep but was unable to source it during the shutdown. I was very patient and methodical looking through all the available aftermarket MX bars that would fit and that had more sweep than what Rox sells in their kit. You will actually find that the Yamaha OEM bars, at least to me, have excessive sweep on their bars and they are also going to be narrower. I'm assuming your Raptor has more of a MX feel to the bars?
@@RedRocket204 yeah my Raptor I have pro taper wrapped or bend bars they have a bit of sweet to them but not as pronounced I don't think as the grizzly. But I like the big sweep on the 4x4s bringing the bars closer to me.
@@OdysseyOffroadSo I was wondering about something again hopefully you see this , So at 9:46 into your video do i pull that hose off and cap it and put the hose back over that as well? And then at 10:06 pull that off and cap that one as well and put the hose back on? Thanks. 🙏
i have the roxs bar riser and handle bars and it gave me about a inch and a half lift on the bars and 3 inches wider ish? i like them alot better because i found the stock bars would flex alot when turning and also i have the grizzly model that dase not come with powerstearing and my arms would get tired after a couple hours with the stock bars, after i put on the roxs risers and bar combo on that completely fixed thos issues, i found it much eazyer to turn, it puts the pivete point much higher so its lvl with your hands instead of it being so low compared to the bars where your hands are and they dont flex at all
Would it be as effective to just plug the AIS delete hole from inside the airbox, or would that cause a problem? I have a '21 XTR and have noticed some pinging on deceleration, especially in the summer.
Well they're only designed for one person. I've never taken a passenger on it. I don't think it would be enough room to be quite honest for the passenger's feet. Be pretty cramped
Nice bike. I just got the 2024 grizzly se gonna put a exhaust tip on and I’m looking into tuner pro’s and con’s. I got 100kms on her so far and she is real hard on fuel so with the tune I’m guessing it’s gonna be worse so I might pass on that.
Excuse me, I have a question, they brought mine completely new just like yours, they turned it on and I sat down but I felt that the left side on the left leg was very hot on that side and the right side was not. is that normal?
You're going to be warmer on the left side because that's the spot where the exhaust is run on the right side there's no exhaust pipe. If you do the AIS delete like I show in this video it will cut down on the heat significantly. Also a fuel tuner will help.
Coming from a Brute Force, which literally sets your leg hair on fire it's so hot, the Grizzly is much, much better in terms of heat felt from the header/exhaust pipe.
but my grizzly feels like it gets very hot, it's my first time on an ATV and the part where you store things in the middle gets very hot there was a Manual and it was super hot and so I think I can't store anything there
I wish you lived in Maine lol , I just bought this same machine and id really like to have you come do that hose for me as I'm by no means mechanically inclined and no atv repair people in my area know anything about that Ais delete when I tell them about it.
You don't have to be mechanically inclined. just take the left side plastic off pull the hose off of the air box and put a rubber cap on it put the hose back over it
@@OdysseyOffroad Thats it? Thank you I might have to give it a try.....Just curious My Grizz is brand new like not even 5 miles on it yet , When I cold start it , it has sorda a whistle pinchy sound , hard to explain it comes outta it once it warms up but you think thats normal?
@@OdysseyOffroad , Im just East of Tucson, Can Ride right from house here for Miles and miles . I have not changed on Tires yet , but that is on my short list of todays within the next couple of weeks . I can tell you that I got those SunF's for my Sons Outlander and they are working great .... much improved ride... So I am thinking about them. I did put Elka Shocks on last year and lovin them... I got the Yamaha Box on the back that you referred to as well , and I am really liking it too, TON of cargo space now .... I installed my own Winch last year too at a fraction of the price Yamaha wanted, only really needed it once , and that was to move the hot tub in the back yard...LOL but it worked like a charm...To your point my biggest issue is the Zilla Tires dont like what they do to my front end at times I got a shakey front end on the pavement from them... So looking forward to replacing them :) Also 3/17 picking up the GPS Unit for it Cant wait , I will do a video on it for ya...
@@charlespalmerii4299 oh right on. Im in Sahuarita. I ride right from my place as well. Maryland concerned with the tires is there's not a lot of options for a 10-in wide front and rear and I don't really want to go 9-in wide on those stock 8-in wide rims. 🤷🏻♂️
@@OdysseyOffroad , I made a decision , and pulled the trigger , will let you know how they are , they are coming this week and get them at a great price right now : TUSK MEGABITE 8 ply
That bike definitely does not look better without a front rack. Also you just lightened up the front end on a bike is already severely underweight up front causing them to be very tippy going. Uphill thanks to the low end torque and lightweight front end
An LED light is not going to be a brighter light in the high beam. It's going to be wider but it won't give you as far of a throw down the trail as the halogen. It will look better and look brighter to look at it, but usable light is actually less. That third light is pointless. Anyway, if you use your front rack like it's intended. Light shines back in your eyes off of anything. You mail on the rack. Also, you usually traveling faster on the bike then the amount of trail that is actually illuminated by that upper light. It's just pointless and it's better off to be disabled and just use your lower lights for your high and low beam. If you really want extra light you get a light bar or pods
You would think these new bikes would have usb from the dealer. I guess it could be worse and Yamaha could be as cheap as Honda and put a micro dash and leaver park brake lmfao. Also I noticed on my new grizzly the back brake leaver still has the hole there for a old style cable brake!! Wtf is that all about there still using the same brake leaver since 02 because I think 03 is when Yamaha put park on there bikes
