Senator Plett, you are one of very few politicians that have my utmost respect. Recent years have opened my eyes wide to the seedy side of many of your colleagues. Your reasoning is always full of good common sense logic that shows me that you truly have the best interest of all Canadians in mind. Thank you for your efforts.
My son works at neighboring dairy farm. They work so so so hard! Many times they work alone day in and day out. Rising before the sun. Dealing with breaking down tractors, sick cattle, their own health battles, raising their families, rising costs of fuel, feed, veterinarian costs, medications for their stock, fencing maintenence and so much more. They continue day in and day out struggling to make sure they meet their milk quota each month. They have sunk every penny into their farms and have no possible career change if it all goes bust. I support and respect farmers everywhere. They deserve our support.
Just think how Canada would be if we had more common sense intelligent working hard for Canadians Senators like Senator Plett he is a marvel to me and us we need him and respect this strong caring man Thank you good sir.
Thank you Mr. Plett. It's clearly obvious that the entire system of governing needs many, many changes. And Canadians will demand much more of a voice and participation in voting in new members - voting on taxation - etc. Time for a much more prosperous and peaceful Canada 🇨🇦💌
We need far more logical, common sense Senators like Senator Plett. We should also be allowed a vote on who makes up our Senate. The system, as it stands now, allows for too much partisanship.
Why oh why are so many bills being brought to the table that are ruining Canada, and destroying provinces. 'Essentially, it absolutely prohibits anyone from tampering with this policy in future international trade negotiations. Simply put, the bill takes supply management off the table in any future negotiations.' Saskatchewan is a successful province, and does not need federal oversite. No to Bill C - 282.
Free market is best quotas and subsidize do not work We have one huge company controlling most all of of dairies and is trying to do the same in other countries this needs to be stopped also these polluting factory farms all owned and run horribly by elites putting good farmers out of business and using too much ground water so normal farmers have to truck water in and/or reduce their healthier free range cattle numbers etc. we have been being taken over it is only the government and shareholders of these companies making money and putting the prices of things up. etc. etc. I was a farm girl you would not believe the trouble good farmers have.
What a rip off! Fixed prices and gouging go hand in hand. Supply management is a leading price inflator in Canada and the only reason it exists is that Canadians are kept in the dark about it and all parties are too afraid of the dairy lobby.
It really disturbs me to see a House Member giving a strong speech and presentation to our House of Parliament members who are all paid out of my pocket!, and sit on their phones. Bring your Documents to work and pay attention to the presentation being given to you. Or I suppose maybe your waiting for a bedtime story? ...... please limit your disrespect to the house and Canadians!.......
