@altrarunning has introduced 3 new shoes to it's 2024 Experience lineup (all 4mm drop)! Check out the Experience Flow, Experience Form, and the Experience Wild in this first look video. Respectively, you have the daily trainer (Flow), stability (Form), and trail shoe (Wild), each featuring a comfortable upper, soft lightweight compression-molded midsole, 32mm heel/28mm toe (in men's) for a 4mm drop, standard footshape fit, and a rocker geometry for a fun and inspired run. I've been enjoying the FWD Experience and look forward to sharing my full review videos of the new Experience Flow, Form, and Wild lineup soon!
* Altra sent me these shoes for the purpose of review however, I am not getting paid to produce this review or say anything as part of the review. All thoughts expressed are my own.

I have no idea how these have slipped under my radar. I absolutely ❤ Altra and am excited they are trying different things to broaden their line up. Looking forward to giving the Wild’s a go. Thanks for your initial thoughts.

I'm hoping to have my full review of the Experience Wild available in a couple weeks, right after I publish my full review of the Solomon Genesis trail shoe. Thanks for giving the video a watch!

@@SeeChadRun Sorry then.. I only heard "light".. Usually others using small USPS digital scale (cost like $10-15 on ebay) ;)

The Wild looks...wild! That's what the Timp should have been, and I'm eager to test the 4 mm drop because with the zero drop I always end up with a negative drop, so maybe a small drop will get me the zero drop actually.

Do you think it'll be a good road to trail?
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun 19 дней назад
The Experience Wild would be a decent road to trail shoe.

Soo Altra is basically making a ghost/adrenaline type shoe with the flow/form

I found FWRD extremely short in length and narrow in toe box, definetely not a standard fit.....i wonder if these are more better fit?
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun 20 дней назад
These are the same fit as the FWD Experience...

I wonder if the midsole is different at all. And is the sizing the same?

Same midsole and sizing... Hmm.

Love your Altra shoe reviews! How does the Experience Flow compare to the Torin 7? I had sizing problems with the Torin 7. It was a bit too narrow for me in the mid foot & toe box. Also, is the cushioning comparable to the Torin 7? I loved the cushioning on that shoe, was just too narrow for me.
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun 25 дней назад
The fit and upper volume are very similar between the Experience Flow (and FWD Experience) and Torin 7. Cushioning is also similar although in the Torin 7, I would say the midsole is a little softer (EGO Max) but in the Experience Flow you get a little bit more (non EGO Max) of it so it makes up any difference.

@@SeeChadRun Just ran in the Altra FWD Experience today! Loved the Orange color way! Wow these are amazing! I thought they would be too narrow for my foot but these were the perfect fit! Great breathability & nice amount of cushion. Not too soft or too firm, really nice sweet spot! Super light weight too. These are my favorite Altra shoes so far! Your review helped me a lot! Thank you, Altra should sponsor you! Also, I assume the Altra FWD Experience & Experience Flow are basically the same? If not, which one is lighter or more comfortable in your opinion?

@Sonnylorenzo4273 Great to hear! And yes, the Flow and FWD are the same except for the tongue on the flow (it's more like the Torin 7) but that's it. Same basic upper and the same midsole and outsole. Same underfoot feel too.

What was the stack height on the wild?

In the men's shoes, it's the same across the lineup. 32mm heel, 28mm toe.

Are these shoes deeper all atra shoes are very shallow?
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun Месяц назад
Are you talking about how your foot sits down insidr the shoe? If so, these shoes feel similar to other brands from this perspective. They also seem to allow the foot to sit deeper in the shoe compared to the Altra Torin 6. Hope this helps!

Experience vs Flow differences?
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun Месяц назад
I talk briefly about it in my FWD Experience Review video, but they're effectively the same shoe. The Flow has a slightly different design on the upper, including a slight change in the tongue but the padding feels the same. Underfoot it feels exactly the same as well and the midsole and outsole are exactly the same. The fit is also exactly the same and the padding around the ankle is identical. Between the two, I would buy the one that you like the colorway most or that is on sale. If you're curious about its performance, check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tihkmmZgqN4.html:

The Wild looks more like a road-to-trail shoe compared to the now more trail-only Timp. As such it seems to replace both the old Timp 4, but particularly the Outroad. From my perspective, I don't see the point of Altras with a drop, it's the zero-drop that brought me to the brand.
@SeeChadRun
@SeeChadRun Месяц назад
I agree that the Wild seems to replace the Outroad. As for the low drop approach, I think Altra is trying to expand their market share. Not everybody wants a zero drop shoe and so, Altra wants to tap into that market a bit more. Plus it allows an avenue for those looking to move into zero drop shoes that may have reservations or even physical challenges when jumping straight into a zero drop shoe. Still, it's an interesting change from their traditional offerings.
@FDNRunningandMotivation-ws1hd
@FDNRunningandMotivation-ws1hd 23 дня назад
The zero drop in my.case always becomes a negative drop no.matter if running or walking. ..so I guess a small drop may be a good idea
