It's refreshing to see that it's okay to be imperfect when using your journal despite having such a gorgeous setup. It's just part of life. I also love the idea of doing the planning/testing out the theme at the back before you start inkling on the actual page. (Your planning video is still one of my fav) Thanks!
This journal is perfection, Erin 😊😊 I would so much rather see a journal filled with things that are meaningful, regardless of how “scattered” they are, than a journal that has the perfect instagrammable weekly spreads that end up blank because they don’t end up being practical for your lifestyle. I want to see a journal that is USED and MESSY and full of life!
I love that you have decorated pages, minimalist pages, as well as memory keeping pages in this! This is the kind of bullet journaling I'd like to see more of ❤ Sure, a beautifully set up weekly is fantastic, but this kind of variety is more true to what life really tends to look like, it's a perfect fit for the person at the time and in its entirety it still looks beautiful! Enjoyed this a lot, thanks!
I really find your reviews of the journals you use very helpful. I'm currently trying to decide on a B5 reading journal for the second half of the year, and your videos have helped a lot - even just taking a closer look at what they look like inside. So I'm keen for any more journal reviews in the future!
I'm just starting to get into bullet journal and still don't have one (i'm just doing a simple reading journal), but it's so good to see how your journal doesn't stay perfect with use, it looks a lot more realistic! Thanks for sharing your journal with us!
Hi Erin and Mitsu! 🙋🏻♀️❤️✨😻🐾 Thank you for Sharing your completed journal!!! I found it encouraging that it's ok if it doesn't work out perfectly and love how you adapted it for memory keeping! I also enjoyed revisiting the bookish themed yearly setup. After watching you set it up before, I had to buy a set of Alphabet stamps for decorative Drop Caps. I love them and plan to use them a lot when I actually start a journal. 😊 Love, Hugs, Blessings & Sparkles! ❤️🫂🙏🏻💖✨
Thank you or showing a real journal. I just bought my first and was feeling down that it wasn’t perfect. The flick through is beautiful but glad to see it’s real life you miss weeks or have ideas that don’t work out but that’s life
Love the start of the journal and the January set up with the band of colours with flourish and the frames. But my favourite are your memory keeping spreads (Celestial festival in particular). I started a memory keeping journal of special moments (shows, theatre, cinema, day trip, family gatherings etc etc) and I want them in one long term journal not spread out in several journals over the years…. I really liked the ones you did. Some are simpler than other but sometimes simpler is what is required 😊 Thank you for the flip through. Always fascinating
That’s a lovely idea! At the moment I’m really enjoying them mixed in with the planning things, but you never know about the future - I might change my mind and add another journal to the rotation! 🤣
9:24 Omg I never thought about taking the entire hotel key card holder, always thought it would get me in trouble 😂 It looks so cute in the journal though!
I put monthly tabs in mine (part 1 of year 2), and the daily habit trackers are opposite the cover page (with the tabs on it), so that I can always easily know where they, and my overview of monthly/weekly tasks and goals are for easy filling in.🥰. I just need to stop waiting until I'm too tired to care about journaling to fill them in. 😅. Edit: I also don't like how Dutch doors effect the book bulge, so I upgraded to a B5, so I don't have to cut off anything unless it's an esthetic choice (which it hasn't been, yet. 😉) and I fit my entire year in the 1 book. 🥳
Did I stop at every fountain pen spread too look at all the colours and see what pen you tried? DEF !! I am glad you have beautiful samples to look at. Thank Judi for me. Not me and Mark trying to make you and Jash a fountain pen convert :33 My favourite cover spreads were March, April and June maybe because you really liked setting them up anyways. They really were my favourite. I hope you try sth Plant Based Bride does, draw on separate art paper then print it to sticker on journals. I think that is def a more acessible way to keep on drawing and incorporating small gold paints.
I can’t imagine how much work went into that journal, definitely some stunning spreads! I decided to binge some of your recent videos & along the way I had a thought/question for others in the comments mainly… So I have too many bullet journals 😂. I know I can never possibly use them all. I’ve been part of the A&O sub box since day 1. I have all those journals that you can’t get on their website (and let’s face it A&O sells out of many of their regular line journals quickly these days). My journals are in their original boxes, mint condition, and if I’m not going to use them maybe I could sell them. But I have no clue what platform I’d use. Ebay? FB marketplace? I’ve never used either to sell anything and I have no clue if people are even looking for things like this. I also DO NOT want to start a culture of people buying & reselling journals for profit. If there’s even a chance this would happen I would not sell them. I’m not trying to make a profit, I’ve already thought about how much I’d ask for the journals & it’s not what I paid. I just want these to go to someone who can & will use them, knowing I probably can’t. Anyone else a compulsive journal buyer ever tried this? Anyone looking for an A&O sub box journal from 2 years ago look anywhere online & find anything? Sorry for the long post. Any input is much appreciated ❤.
I love this question - and I think I can help! I’ve definitely heard some of my channel members mention in our discord they have purchased A&O secondhand in Europe on a platform called Vinted. Depending on your location, you might like to try looking for ‘destash’ Facebook groups. We have actually just started a destash section of my Discord but you can only access the Discord with a paid channel membership so I understand if that’s not the right fit for you 💕 I really respect that you’re being mindful to avoid participating in a scalping culture for limited edition stationery - I think just by virtue of pricing it lower than what you paid you’ve already avoided that! I’m certain there will be plenty of interested parties out there! 🥰
Thank you for showing that a journal can be imperfect and occasionally barely used and still be beautiful. Your commitment to the painting journey is a credit to you, and I love the dragon set up especially. I love how you blanked out the faces.
@ErinSmith honestly, totally a valid reason to not play haha! I've had a year between sessions before due to the same person being unavailable (but she's our best friend so we don't want to play without her!)
Goulet Pens are great for fountain pens. They also have a RU-vid channel that is very informative for beginners. They even have a “pencast” I’ve gotten nearly all my fountain pens from them
i have the same problem where my trackers for the whole year are in the front of my journal (granted i'm using a ready-made journal) and even though i'm doing the habit i'm meant to be tracking almost every day i forget to fill in the tracker 😂 loved the flip through! i loved hearing about the acotar ball, would love a minivlog on it if you're so inclined (i FINALLLY read the first 4 books so i'm able to actually understand acotar references now).
I’ve got good news for you - there’s a little mini-vlog on the ball at the end of my February/March reading journal video 😉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--wwndSOjrrk.htmlsi=tTRa_JwSuUtHPEph
Okay so it's not this video but in your reading journal you used such beautiful papers and supplies - where on earth do you get them? I feel like im probably googling the wrong words XD
I always link to them in the video descriptions (or as much as the character limit will allow) so if you’re after anything specific, that’s a good place to start 🥰
