Hi! I'm Erin - I make videos about bullet journaling, stationery and reading. I'm a photographer in my day-to-day life, and I'm just about always listening to an audiobook, or curled up with my cat Mitsu and my Kindle. I love sitting down with a cup of tea to set up my journal for the coming month, and I love bringing you with me for the journey!

I've got 3 journals I use the most often - everyday bujo, yearly bujo and reading journal. I also have a notebook for pen and washi swatches. I tried a 5 year journal but it isn't for me - I put everything in my everyday bujo 😊 my favourite brand is notebook therapy 😊 but I also use a local brand. Love your videos ❤
I have one journal, my reading journal that I use as a main bujo as well. It's from Notebook Therapy and I'm enjoying it so far. My next reading journal is going to be a square one but I've bought one from Scribble & Dot as I dont want to use my nice A&O one in case I don't like the sizing. I've just been brave and cut waterfall tabs for July in my reading journal, not sure how it'll work if I read more books than I've allowed room for but that's a later me problem. I'm considering myself officially influenced by you with the tabs lol
I have two journals my a6 five year journal and my Hobonichi Cousin. I love the tomoe river paper. I don’t use the dailies but I do the everything else. Want to make my own reading tracker/journal.
Hey Erin! Love your videos! I was just wondering if you use you Hp Sproket a lot? I want to buy a zink printer and I'm not sure which one to get. Have you done a comparison video at all or could you do one in the future? I live in Australia as well! I'm looking at the Kodak Step because its avaible at officeworks and the paper isn't too expensive, but I see a lot of people say the HP Sproket is the best one and I'm just not sure which one to get! Do you like your HP Sproket?
I have a daily bujo, a sample journal for all the washi and other stationary stuff I keep buying and a travel journal. I am setting up a reading journal and one for shows/museum/cinema. I saw your traveller’s budget journal in the last video and loved it so I will do the same. My travel’s journal is for travel I have done but I love to make list and plan I might actually do a separate travel journal but with ideas of place to go, things to do, or maybe a list of all the countries visited up to now. My daily is the only one that will change every year, the rests are more long terms. They will be filled when they will be filled😊
Love William and Morris. You have given me an idea. I have stationary in William and Morris and I think my penpals wont appreciate the beauty. 🤣🤣🤣. So I will use it for my journal. Loved your video Erin. Juliet from Brissy.
I just want to tell you I was so touched when you said how the young teenage girl was gifted all those yummy supplies. I guarantee you she will always remember the day a kind soul shared her (bounty) with her.❤🎉😊
I currently have 3 journals in my lineup, which is a new record for me. I have one bullet journal, which I use to track habits, to-dos, reading, and finances for the whole year. The second is my work bullet journal, which I use to take notes for meetings, professional development, and keep track of what I need to do. The third is my daily journal, which I use to journal about my day, feelings, and events. Sometimes, I include memory spreads in that one, too.
Currently, I have a writing journal, a film production journal for a specific project, one for an event I run which is currently in hibernation since we're taking a break from it this year, and one single bullet journal which is entirely spreads and trackers. I haven't done as much as I'd like with any of them, really. I was doing quite well with my trackers until a few weeks ago when I alternately got very busy and then ill a few times in a row, and when I don't have a specific thing to fill in, I kind of forget to pick it up. ADHD. I also haven't had time to properly fill in many pf the spreads, which is a shame.
I had all my stuff in one bullet journal until recently. In March I went digital. I now have a reading journal, a thoughts journal, a book ideas journal, a bullet journal, a medical journal, and a important info journal which is like astrological dates, car maintenance, ect. And it's so much easier to want to journal. I went from dreading it to using it everyday. It helps that I chose a eink tablet that has a color screen and is around a b5 size, it's slightly shorter and thinner but it's still pretty big. I had always used a a5 for like 12 years until this year I tried the b5. The tablet is my ereader as well so my reading journal is immediately filled out which is so much fun I even track individual reading sessions now. Plus now I can journal anywhere at any time even in the dark which is super nice. I journal in bed all the time now. For the first time I've needed to switch to a six month journal. The digital ones can be hard to navigate without hyperlinks. And I journal so much more now.
Just watching this video for the second time to get some ideas for my personal finance tracker I want to start for the second half of 2024 :) This was quite helpful! Thank you for sharing your journal with us 💕
I only started bullet journaling last year and used one journal for the entire year, for daily & reading. It was a cheap and cheerful Stationery Island 120gsm journal from Amazon, as I didn't want to spend loads if the habit fizzled out a couple of months into the year. (It actually held up super well). Of course I actually fell completely in love, so this year I decided to separate the reading into it's own journal. I thought I would comfortably last in 2 journals (Yop & Tom for regular journal and Scribble & Dot for the reading) but I realised recently that if I carry on using them both the way I have been that neither will last the full year. However there's also too many pages left to finish them in time to start second journals for July onwards 😅 So now I am having to be careful and ration my pages in both journals for the whole second half of the year which means no chance to play and experiment with new spreads and so on, and I'm feeling a bit grumpy about this! So next year I am already planning on using 4, and I've already bought 3 of them 😅 2 journals from Leela Journals, a blackout journal from STM,, and then I am planning on getting a square journal for my last one. I want to test different sizes and paper styles. I do also have a journal I have been semi regularly using for a kind of morning pages journal - it's a Day Dot journal, absolutely beautiful covers but fairly thin paper quality (probably 80gsm?) so just good for writing in really, but it works well for that.
Also, I've seen others use the square journal for their reading journal, and they came out STUNNING. I think it would be really cute to do the whole thing as a fairytale/cottage core with a hint of old books.... I just think that would be stunning. So it would look like the older massive fairytale/princess theme throughout... unless I'm too old to still love and have one as reference. Once I'm able to get some supplies to set it up, I'm definitely going to try it. Would be cute to pass on. I have one journal for now that I'm using after the one that holds your work of art! It's full and beautiful!
For someone that wants to start bullet journalling but feels overwhelmed, where do you suggest I start, what products do I need to start off with, have you made that kind of video? How do you get your inspiration for your spreads?
I switched back to an A5 after experimenting with multiple inserts for my bujo for the rest of the year. I will keep a separate art journal, and continue to use a separate R&D journal but otherwise am moving everything back into one notebook.
Hi Erin, you can definitely at the koi to the cover. I noticed in one of your videos that you have a cricut. If you have a mini press you can use that. Or an iron. I've seen it done on youtube with notebooks. Just use like baking paper over the top of the koi stickers, to protect the stickers and the notebook, but keep the heat low and monitor it. I went to Daiso today like you suggested and bought some lovely origami paper and washi tape. I'm too nervous to write in my new Archer and Olive Journal though. My handwriting is terrible since I've been sick and I don't want to ruin it. How do I get over the initial starting of a journal. I'm going to use stamps for months and try and hide my handwriting by decorating too. Ahhh ... I don't know where to start. Your Journal is so lovely, I just want mine to look the same. Thanks for all your tips, I also got some washi tape and stickers from kmart. Juliet from Brissy. I would also love to have photos taken of my family when I am better Erin, do you do portrait photography as well?
😂😂😂 As long as it brings you joy - so what!! I ADORE Erin's and your channels. You could literally sell them hand-made for thousands. lol your handwriting and setup relaxes my OCD - just perfection!
It amazes me how people can stick with multiple journals at once, like, how do y'all do that? I tried using 2 for bujo and writing for a few years but my brain could just never hahaha it felt like my brain would explode from seeing all the ntbks I have to write on. Since then I only dedicated one catch-all journal at a time.
I agree with Erin, I work from home too. But, I'm also digital in a eink tablet. It makes it easier to find things when I have separate notebooks for everything.
I use 5 as of the day before yesterday. 6 if you count my preprinted reading journal I got in a book box from a publisher here in Sweden. I didn’t realize how many books I was using until I saw this video. My lineup is: Bullet journal Work journal Watercolor book Gaming journal Dream journal Reading journal
Those sound more than reasonable! You are documenting things that bring you joy and keep you creative! Love that! You can pass on the gaming ones to family... better than a cheat book you used to buy from the game store lol
I’m a little unhinged and I have like 15 journals rn? They’re not always in use but like I have my bullet, dream, work, memory keeping, pen/make up swatches, tarot, instruction manual, recipe book, non fiction book notes, fiction book notes, therapy journal, & a nature journal. My friends say I have a problem (affectionately).
"I'm a little unhinged" 😂😂😂 I felt this statement to my core - should be the motto for "Stationary/Journal/Planners Anonymous" We've all been there for sure. As long as they make you happy and keep you creative... who cares! We don't take enough time anymore to just enjoy the simple things simply because they make us happy. We need more of that in the world.
Just stumbled across your channel and this video. You're extremely creative. Did you do a calligraphy course? I am from Sydney Australia. How long does it take you to set up each month? Do you track your expenses weekly or monthly?
As someone that has had to notate dancing professionally your dancing journal is really good!!!! An excellent use of a portable journal. Also I’m 10000% an archer and olivie girlie now I just now got into bullet journaling and I love your channel
Hey, Erin! Diana from Georgia, US, here! I love that B5 journal! I have the same one--as well as the other Archer and Olive journals you showed. I use mine as my regular bullet journal. I also use that blue A5 you're using for "research and development." I'm using that one as my reading journal. Apart from that, I have stacks of books I haven't used yet! Lots of plans! However, I'm using some Happy Planners as well for purposes where I have to create my own pages and move stuff around. A weekly business journal, a Bible study notebook, and a "book book" with all the notes I need for my writing. Journals changed my life. :)
I have an A5 lined journal from Archer and olive that I use as my reading journal and it's the perfect size and it gives me enough room to keep things simple.
I've got 3 journals, though I really only use 2 regularly. Reading Journal to track my reading, Commonplace Journal for general regular journaling and note-taking and pondering my days, and the lesser-used one is Story Ideas Journal. It was so surprising when I finally finished as in filled an entire journal back in 2020! And I've just tried to keep it going even if a journal lasts me more than 1 year.
Before I give my journal list, does anyone know of a dot-grid journal that's better for fountain pens than notebook therapy? I struggle to get the ink to lay down on their paper, probably because it's so smooth... That said, I have five journals on the go: A book club journal for the book club I run at work, A reading journal (A5 notebook therapy), a writing journal (A5 notebook therapy) and a journalling-journal (A5 notebook therapy) as well as my planner (filofax personal, week per view) which is also a daily memory keeper - I write what is planned in in pencil, as a forward plan, then once the day is done, write a short daily log in the box and decorate. If I've had an event, day out etc. I'll use a sheet of ff notebook paper or a postcard, decorate it the same way as my weekly spread and then write memories & paste small photos in. At the end of each year I make covers and bind the papers to keep. I also have two traveller notebooks on the go, but I view them as collections rather than journals - one's an anthology of poems I love, the other is the anthology of my own poems, which will grow slowly through my whole life.
I wasn't subscribed to the Archer and Olive boxes back then.. but THAT particular mustard journal I have to say is my favorite one I have ever seen from them. So there's no accounting for tastes eh?? I'm glad you are using it for something special. 💟
My journal line up will get an addition in July. I decided to also start a separate finance journal after being fed up of having my finance information spread over several different journals and apps. For that I’ll just use a small and slim notebook I already own. In the future I want to utilise my TN more. I have so much fun using it for memory keeping and travel journaling that I might start using it as my normal planner. I use a black A5 grid notebook as a catch-all or common place journal 📓 And my reading journal is an A5 dot grid softcover with a beautiful peacock pattern. I’ve just started looking for my next reading journal but I can’t make up my mind yet if I want another A5 or try a B5 or even a square. And I’m torn between brands. A&O, The Quirky Cup Collective or Tiefossi? 📚 I’m also eyeing a Paperblanks but the paper they use only goes up to 120gsm which is too thin for my liking.
I have WAY too many journals that I’m currently using 😅. They are mostly Archer and Olive brand. An 8X8 Reading Journal, an B5 2024Tv Journal, a travelers Daily journal, a notebook therapy original size Music Journal, an A5 movie Journal, an A5 D&D campaign journal, a B6 one shot D&D journal, and and B6 love note journal with my partner. And those are the ones I use on a semi regular basis. I have more that I use less frequently and are just “ongoing” until they are filled.
Your Morris dancing journal is so cute! And so useable - when I was teaching/doing choreography (yeeaaaarrss ago now, lol) I had a little journal in my bag where I had orders of exercises, formation layouts, choreo notes for my different classes, etc. It was a cheap steno pad, so it fell apart quickly and I no longer have it, but a much sturdier journal like that little one from the sub box would have been great (I have that little notebook too and it's being used as a quote journal ;) ) So I have the quote journal, a big B5 "collections"/swatch journal for yearly collections that don't need to be carried around with my, my reading journals (NT original sizes, on No.2 for the year), and my daily journal which is an A5 and lasts me six months so I'm just about to migrate from my A&O to an NT (the NT is slightly shorter than the A&O in number of pages, but I only transfer over 4 spreads from journal to journal - my period tracker, a gift ideas page, a page for paying off a credit card (because seeing it graphed is so nice), and my physical therapy exercises) so it shouldn't be too much of an issue)
At the moment, I use 4 journals: Daily bujo, tasklist and notes, reading journal (I’m using a square journal-so pretty but not enough space for the decoration I want and all that I want to write about the book so I’m going to a B5 next) and one for summer homeschooling with my daughter. I’m so inspired by your financial journal! That may be next!
Hi Erin, this is my first time commenting and I just want to start off by gushing about how much I just love your channel, your art style, and your practical but gorgeous journal spreads! Thank you for putting in all the hard work to share those with us!
I'm noticing your sweater and I was thinking what in the world? Where is she? It's at least 38°C with heat indexes of 40°+ (here in the US). Then I remembered it's winter where you are. I need to move. 😂
Don’t move to Brisbane 🤣 we still get 23-25C days in what’s meant to be our ‘winter’. Lately I’ve been comparing our winter temps with London’s summer and ours are often still warmer! So possibly I need to move 🤣
@steppy3736 the spiders!!!! Like literally from my nightmares! I'm arachnophobia like crazy... and Australia is the one place I really DO want to experience. I have friends out there I want to visit.
How many journals? I have an A5 reading journal, a B6 bullet journal, then for every day I have an A5 lined journal that I write in on the daily. I have a journal that is specifically for washi tape samples so I can “shop” my collection very easily and I have a journal for my fountain pen ink samples so I can also shop my collection. I also have a Hobonichi Techo Cousin in a size A5. I absolutely love my Hobonichi and I don’t let a day go by without writing in it. There is just something special about the Hobonichi. My every day journal is also really special. When I get stationery orders in the mail I tape in items from the orders as memories. My journals get really chunky because I tape so much stuff in! I love to look back at them. I loved seeing how many journals you have. It made me feel less alone in the number of journals I have. Thanks for a great video!❤❤❤
I'm the exact way in my Hobinichi this year. It's my first year, and my brother brought me the A6 from Japan last year. It's precious. And I got the same in A5. This month has been bad, but every day before last month and every day from now on, I'm back in it. I've missed it. Next year, I certainly won't get the HON! I'm worried how it will hold up until the end of the year bc she's already so damn chunky! Lol🎉
I have, maybe four journals. 1.Hobonichi A6 for memory keeping and planning. 2.Midori Codex for longer writing and morning pages 3.Leuchturm A5 120gsm as my main sketchbook 4.Leuchturm A6 pocket notebook as my wallet and on the go sketchbook
My photo for journals will be belated.. but I'll share on discord when I'm back home in a week or so. But I have my everyday journal an A5 linen cover from Archer and Olive.. Will be retiring my Teacher planner at tye end of July for my new one. It starts in August but I'll be fully using it in September!
I have 4 in my regular line-up and 1 occasional. Every day, reading journal, RnD journal, my collections journal and my book series I want to buy journal. (My reading journal is a tiny B6 journal and I didn't want my to buy list to be pretty lol)
I have currently 6 journals A travel journal A monthly one A daily journal A reading journal A trial journal A magical journal for all kinds of nature and celestial stuff
