I ordered trax 2RS trim... Just discovered Envista... Which arrives 2 months later and 1500$ more expensive... Such a tough call to make, they both look like great cars
@@supersteve8305 I will just wait for Trax and see it person to make the decision. Couple months wait is nothing for a car that I plan to drive for years, good call 😉
I like the ACTIV trim with a few options on the Trax. I like all the Envista trims. They are packed with features for such a ridiculously good price. I suspect the tiny engine and not so premium interior materials are a few reasons why they managed to keep costs down. I have no qualms with it. I am getting tired of researching. I narrowed it down to these simply because of price. Leaning towards the Envista. Test driving one on Monday.
@@nodun451 Better than I expected. Quiet drive, fairly smooth. While on the Interstate I was doing about 40 and started to increase speed and when I was nearing my exit I looked and found that I was going over 70 (speed limit was 60). It really didn't feel like it to me. Once you get it going the acceleration sneaks up on you. Now with a 0-60 attempt though it's obvious that it's not a fast car. Anyone who's read the specs knows this to be a fact. This is really perfect for anybody who's interested in nice features but doesn't have the budget to get cars starting at lower to mid-thirties with a 1.6 or 2.0 engine. I'm interested in the Sport Touring and have 2 builds priced at $27,480 and $28, 475. If I'm lucky I can keep my payments under $500. I just got to get past the finance people because they love to throw extras at you that you don't need or want. 😆
What did you end up getting. I have a 2012 f150 that I want to trade in before it goes out and this Buick caught my attention. Family of 3 only so it’s either this or a car maybe Jetta
@@alanrubio6708 Neither one. I was getting a dog and the travel kennel measurements wouldn't fit properly. So, I revisited my list and ended up spending more than I wanted to but still within budget. I got a certified pre-owned 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe.
After owning the Envista over 2 months and close to 3,000 miles half city, highway. The vehicle cruises very comfortably at 70 mph. This small vehicle wants to pass in the city. The turbo charge is almost imperceptible, but it's there when needed. Average 34 both city and highway. The back window doesn't really need a windshield wiper. It's slope like a sedan car. It's not a cagey shape vehicle.
I have a Trax LT & an Envista ST with Watts linkage & 19" wheels on order. Refundable deposit on either or both subject to driving as Canada has yet to receive any of either. Price difference is about $3000 . Envista has a Sunroof & vinyl seats which I care less about but it does have a power seat which I want. Will be interested to see which I pick or neither.
Drove an Evista ST& was very disappointed .Felt cheap, noisy @ highway speed & gutless. Have a Hyundai Sonata AWD 2.5 Sedan with much more equipment 191 Hp real leather power heated & cooled seats, panorama roof on order for $$37,250.Lots more car for not a lot more $.
The Chevy Trax was the low end version of the Buick Encore, which itself was based on the Sonic. So, not really surprising that Buick has a new version of the current gen Trax.
It's amazing how many people expect a 200-300hp car at the CHEAPEST entry-level car for any lineup. You get what you pay for. You want a $25,000 car? You get 137hp. You want a 280hp car? Hello $50,000 car. These are not race cars... they are grocery getters.
@PSB19884 the original poster obviously wasn't driving in the 90s. An entry level cheap car in the 90s got you something like a Geo Metro with a whopping... wait for it... 55hp (1.0 liter 3-cylinder) Be thankful you get 137hp with an entry level car in 2023.
@@wolfshanze5980 The difference is that most of the cars around were about the same - 50, 80, 120hp... Nowadays you're expected to have a lot more acceleration than in the 90's because with all these 200+hp turbo engines around tailgating each other at 70-80mph is normal in 2023, so you often need to get to 70+mph even on short ramps just to be able to safely merge.
1.looks goes trax , the Buick looks awful, why can’t you get envista in AWD? I know the trial blazer has AWD and that’s why trax does not . What’s Buick excuse? Everything is pointing towards trax
Lol. All wrong I just traded my 2024 trax for the Envista. Definitely gained a few more features than the Chevy. And both of the exact same powertrain built on the same production line. As far as looks… to each its own. So to gain all wheel drive by there, Buick or Chevrolet you have to move to the next level up.
@@DJGAMINGRocks about 22,000. Took a very slight loss. They turned around and resold it the same day for more than the MSRP. The car game is so jacked up right now.
Buick's excuse (and Chevy's) for not having AWD is the same for both and very simple. Price. It's a cheap, entry-level car... the cheapest for both Chevy and Buick. Cheap is cheap... you don't get all the bells and whistles in a cheap car. AWD is expensive, you put AWD in either, the price goes up. It's hilarious... people complain that car prices are too high and nobody can afford a car... so Chevy and Buick put out cheap cars that cost less than most of the competition, then the same people complain "well how come it doesn't come with everything I want?" I swear, you can't win. Folks, you get what you pay for... you want everything in a car, you gotta buy a better (more expensive) car.
It's cheaper and also has better fuel economy. It has plenty of lower end torque to get you around so it's perfect if you do a lot of city driving or long distance highway driving. Although, if you do more freeway driving like jumping on and off exits, you may strain for power.
It's an economy car. It exists to be cheap to buy, cheap to run and get you from point a to point b. What do you want 300hp out of it? They could do that for $10-$15k extra...
The envista has useless back storage, it's so shallow. Isn't that the purpose of this type vehicle. The nissan altima, has way more storage in it's trunk. At least the trax, has decent storage behind the back seat.
I bought the trax, I don't like the envista, buick the brand still has the old people image attached to it, I also don't like the envista exterior or interior compare to the trax. My opinion, the only thing envista did better was the tail lights, nothing else.
I read that the brake lights on the Envista are “lower” in the rear bumper area, whereas the Trax brake lights are higher up. I am not sure having the brake lights that low for Buick is a good idea, especially in traffic where cars follow closely. Any thoughts from others??
Thoughts? Sure. To get a driver's license in any of the 50 states, you not only have to take a road driving test, there's a written one too, making sure you understand all driving laws. One of the questions on said test is about following cars... there's both a two second rule and the even simpler... "If you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you, you're tailgating and too close". Seriously, please realize just how close you have to be to where you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you... at 5mph, that's too scary close, much less at 50mph. If you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you, you're a terrible driver and should have your license revoked.
@@wolfshanze5980 well I didn’t mean to be a jerk about this but clearly you missed my point. I AM worried about the jack ass drivers that love to tailgate at dangerous distance behind. I will say it again, imho having brake lights so low just increases the risk for tailgating accidents. Perhaps you need to take an updated driver test to understand that instead of criticizing people with well intentions.
@@Antsir12 I thinkyou missed MY POINT... do you realize just how close the car behind you has to be to not see your rear bumper? I'm pretty sure you don't realize just how close that is... it's a few feet... not yards. That's not tailgating, that's closer to being towed distance. If you routinely have people ride you that close, you need to move. You're reaching here with the whole "lights on bumbers are dangerous" thing... it's not... most of the world has bumper lights, and i'm not joking when I say towing distance is about how close you have to be to not see someone's bumper... the entire "i wont buy it because bumper lights aren't safe" is a false argument... regulations for safe taillights are agreed upon by countries around the world, and they all know bumper lights are visible unless at towing distance. It's not the problem you claim it to be... you're just not used to it, so the old "i'll call it dangerous" excuse comes up... it's not dangerous... someone driving at towing distance is dangerous, whether you lights are on the bumper or on the roof, someone at towing distance is the problem, not your car's lights.
The Envista has two Achilles heels, rear window angle means potential blind spots, and no rear windshield wiper? A glaring shade of arrogance in engineering? In winter, I want a rear window wiper! Otherwise, the Envista is Gorgeous!
They all end up snapping. Had a 300 dry and it snapped mid drive leaving me stranded and messing up my motor. Bought the envista a month ago and love it. Long as you properly take care of a car, it’ll take care of you.
Very well equipped and attractive vehicles but powered by a 3 cyl disaster of a power train that WILL fai prematurly at great expense. Sell befor the warranty ends.
I love how they want you to believe a small 3 cylinder motor Is a good thing ! Think of this. Having multiple cylinders in a motor are a good thing. 2 cylinders are better than a one cylinder motor. 4 cylinders are even better . A V8 is great. A V10 is marvelous. A V12 has 12 cylinders and it is a very strong, smooth, powerful motor. Why would I ever want a small 3 cylinder motor in my car? I wouldn't and neither should you. Maybe in a motorcycle, never in a car. Buyer beware, don't fall for this trash. You Need at least 4 cylinders !
No dear. We need you to stop posting ridiculous comments. We almost get the impression that you are frustrated with your penis size with your references to cylinders.
Envista has no rear windshield wiper. If you live in a northern climate you won't be able to see anything behind you in a snow storm. Bit of a deal breaker for me.
They said due to the design of the rear it doesn’t need one and that the snow or any precipitation should flow right off from the back… I haven’t seen this in person but I’m sure in a few months reports will show if this is true or false
