Beefcake Racing heads out to Edgewater Raceway after installing the weld drag pack on our 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse We hit a couple dragys along the way and scale the car on the way home!
@thefitnesslife4988 the track also has straight lines. It needs to have a combination of both . Taking a turn then you have a 0.5 straight away how you gotta catch up besides the turns?
Goddamn that car is heavy! It's 400lbs heavier than my 06 with 3/4 tank and a whipple! I've done some weight reduction, but not more than 200lbs. I'm just disgusted with the weight of these new mustangs.
Great informative video but this really tells me to hold on to my Whippled 10R80 2020 GT. I’m sure the quickest stock10R80 S550 on a tyre that I’ve seen on youtube got in to the 11.9 sec range.
So the dark horse weighs 3920. I scaled my base 24 GT at #3700 even. My car only has 2 options, the 10spd auto and 3.55 gear. I shouldn't have any problem getting mine in the 11's. All those extra options add up to alot of extra weight. Every 100lbs is 1/10th in the 1/4 mile
@@johnmilner6505 I hear that’s the best of the best. Been thinking about buying one but my budget only allows for 2016 Model. Seems to be a mixed bag on those engines. Some have had no problems and others have.
Dang,my 04 Terminator weighed in at 500# lighter with 220# off the front end and with the heavy ass OEM rims.Hard to understand where all this weight is coming from on all these newer Stangs.
I heard there’s a spot for your radar detector on the rear view mirror in the back now so you don’t have a cable running down the center. Not sure how true that is though
The Dark Horse is the same weight as my 1972 Gran Torino Sport with a full frame, 351CJ, and 4spd. Ford really need to focus on less tech and more weight reduction.
Just think it’s a lot of money for the performance. All I keep hearing is wait till its tune. For 80k, which is what top trim is selling for in my area. It should be super fast out of box. But I am enjoying your content on the vehicle
@@Mureftw No I don't think I'm unlucky. I just ordered the Dark Horse Premium and it's fully loaded. Recaro seats, painted stripes, Carbon Fiber Wheels, I have 21k in options, plus 9k for the Carbon Fiber Wheels. Heck I even ordered a Dark Horse Car cover. So I don't think I'm unlucky one bit. But thanks for the comment. Be blessed.
@@al151 I have a 2023 Black Camaro SS ZL1. Already got 6k miles on it. Nice car, went 500 miles to get it and drive it home. Love it, but still can't wait fory Dark horse. P.S. I raced it against my 03 Mustang GT 1/4 mile, and lost by 1car. My youngest son was driving my Mustang.
Imagine thinking the car is built to only drive in a straight line for 1320 feet. It’s more car, more tech, better handling. Going after what Chevy left behind in the 1LE
@TeamBeefcakeRacing wow.....it would definitely pic up with a shorter tire . Anything above a 27 is hurting the 60ft and all ...trust me try a shorter tire and watch it go faster!!!
I'm a hardcore Ford fan but let's be honest, if you already owns a S550 Mustang don't upgrade to a S650 Mustang it's not worth it. S650 Mustang have been disappointed me lately, they're heavy, you can't mod it because of the locked ECU, they seems slower than S550 even tho they have a little horsepower bumps, and 24' 5.0 GT cost more around 45k-60k and Darkhorse cost around 65k-70k which is the money you can buy a 10r80 gen 3 Coyote and mod it with FBO/E85, install a aftermarket supercharger and some drag radials on it. I feel like Ford choose technology over performance on the S650 Mustang
Also it'll be so embarrassing if a 2016-2018 Camaro SS or a 2019-2023 Camaro LT1 is able to beat S650 Mustang stock for stock on roll races or 1/4 mile, it'll be so embarrassing for us Ford fans
Idk why these people in the comments expect so much. The dark horse doesn't have a higher price tag because it's dialed to drag racing. It has more aero and handling upgrades so of course it's going to be slower in the 1/4. Even then, 12.2 with a 300lb driver bone stock with a tire is still pretty solid. A 150lb driver can likely get this to the 12.0x without any other changes. Maybe even 11.9 on a cooler lower da day.
You went 12.24 with rain in the area the DA had to be pretty bad! The humidity alone had to be fairly high! Plus that being a little bit heavier of a car I think the runs are pretty good! Oh and a taller tire yeah those are good runs! Beautiful car! Enjoy Sir!
Ypu can be sure that douchebag who tunes for lund down in florida, out of his spare bedroom will make a video about your video also, as he sits and watches the Ford world pass him bye... easier for him to hate than do.. ANYWAY, I get 12.4@116.mph on street tires and I am literally 4/10 slower in the 60 foot , that thing should be a lot faster than my car that's for sure.... I have a loaded premium with 20 inch wheels so it's just about the same weight...
@michaeljr8615 Wow you must literally be retarted to spend that amount of money on a darkhorse lmao. If performance is what you are looking for, this might be the slowest car for that amount of money in its class. Unfortunately that's a fact 😂
Are you in Colorado? Holy shit these things are slow… 99% of people that bought them, bought them to drag race cause they thought more power and they looked cool.. the trap speed is pathetic. Stock 15-17 trap 112-114. Ouch.
The amount of rust spots on a 2024 is insane. Not ignoring the fact that you have to add sleeves for stability on the subframe. It's like these manufacturers aren't listening at all.
